In 1870 Logan County, Illinois, Fred "Dilkey" is farming, 48, with Hannah 38, David 17, all three born in Germany, Paulina 13 in Maryland, and Andrew 10, Jacob 8, MARY 6, Joseph 4, Rosa seven months all born in Indiana.

John Kibel (Kaebel) was born in Germany in 1826, and married Catharina Thomas on May 11, 1857 in Wayne County, Indiana, dying August 7, 1868 in Logan County, Illinois.

In 1870 Logan County, Illinois, Kate Kiebel is 34, born in Germany, with Charley 12, Syzie 8, George 8, Husie (maybe Lizzie) 6, Mary 3, and Manda 1.

In 1880 Logan County, Illinois, Charlie "Kible" is 22, born in Indiana, a farm laborer for Nicholas and Thelsa Lorie and thier family.

Charles C. Kibel and Mary H. "Doelke" (Dilka) married in Logan County, Illinois on Feb 1, 1883.

Charles' mother Katherine was in Logan County, Illinois in 1880 , married to John H. Yonker 59, Katy is 47, born in Germany, and their sons John H. 9 and John H. 5 were born in Illinois. Her daughter Mary Kible 14 was born in Illinois.

In 1900 Glendale precinct -around Vernon, Yuma County, Colorado, Charles C. is farming, born March 1858 , married 18 years to Mary H. Sept 1863, both born in Indiana. John F. Dec 1883 was born in Illinois , Rosa A. June 1888, Mary H. Jan 1892, and Charles July 1886 were born in Nebraska, Lizzie H. Dec 1894 and Anna B. Feb 1899 both born in Colorado.

Charles C. proved up a quarter in section 22, 2S 45W in 1900.


April 1901 "E. Pinckney of Lebanon, Mo., is visiting his son, C. C. Pinckney.
Chas. C. Kibel bought the quarter of land from C. C. Pinkney."

In 1910, Charles and Mary are farming near Vernon, with Lizzie 15, Anna 11, and Grace 9.

Charles C. Kibel is farming in section 3, 1N 44W in the 1920 directory of Yuma County.

1922

Charles and Mary are farming in 1930 Yuma County, with an address of State Highway 54 (must be the one going east-west through Vernon) Thay had John A. Bail, 67 born in Illinois with them, widowed.

Mary Harriet (Dilka) Kibel 1863-1937 is buried in Vernon # 47648161, with Charles Conrad Kibel 1858-1937 # 37695093.
"Charles C. Kibel was born in Wayne County, Indiana on March 12, 1858 and passed away at Wray, Colorado June 6, 1937 at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 24 days. He was married to Mary H. Dilka at Lincoln, Illinois on February 1, 1883 and to this union was born eight children, six girls and two boys. One girl Ella May, died in infancy.
He came to Colorado with his wife and children in the year of 1893, and took a homestead south of Vernon where they lived for 27 years, he then moved near Wray and lived there 17 years.
He leaves his seven children, John and Charley of Stratton, Colorado, Rosa Kier and Mary Andrews of Vernon, Colorado, Lizzie Sanderson of Fort Collins, Colorado, Anna Sanderson and Gracie Von Keanel of Wray, Colorado; One brother George Kibel of Illinois and one sister Lizzie Theis of Oklahoma and two half-brothers, Hubert Younker of Redondo Beach, California and Henry Younker of Illinois. His wife preceded him in death March 1, 1937."


CHARLES A.

April 8, 1910 "Chas. Kibel and Daisy King of Vernon were married this week by Judge T. C. Jennings at his office in the court house."

"Born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kibel Friday, July 21, 1911, a girl."

Charles A. proved up two quarters in section 30, 2S 45W in 1913.



February 1914 "Chas. Kibel of southwest of Vernon marketed a bunch of 43 hogs in Wray on Wednesday. They were sold to William Pyle."

Daisy Dora (King) Kibel 1894-1980 is buried in Vernon # 47647711, with Charles A. Kibel 1886-1950. They married on April 5, 1910 in Wray, Yuma County, Colorado.
They had 13 children.

Alma Ellen Kibel Hopper 1911–2005
"Alma Ellen Hopper, 93, passed away June 17, 2005. Survived by her children, Mary Ellen Hopper of Pueblo and Kenneth (Nellie) Hopper of Denver; siblings, Martha Best of Enid, Okla., Louis Kibel of Canon City, Clara (Charles) Flowers of Nucla, Colo., and Arthur (Frankie) Kibel of Ca–on City; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dallas Hopper on Sept. 9, 1981; children, J.D. Hopper, Frank Hopper and Lavon White; parents, Charlie and Daisy Kibel; and nine siblings. Alma was born July 21, 1911, in Mildred, Colo. She was employed as a practical nurse. A member of Cactus Star Rebekah Lodge No. 2, Fidelity Chapter No. 144, Order of Eastern Star and Pueblo Charter Chapter ABWA. Viewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. "

Ross Conrad Kibel 1922–1982
"Ross Conrad Kibel was born June 22, 1922 to Charley Andrew Kibel and Daisy Dora (King) Kibel at Mildred CO. Ross passed away November 18, 1982 at the VA Hospital in Grand Junction CO.
Ross was married to Ruth Irene Smith on May 16, 1944 in Sharon Springs KS. To this union were born 14 children, eight sons and six daughters. He has been a resident of Dove Creek for the past 29 years.
Ross was preceded in death by both parents; one sister, Cora; two brothers, Lawrence and Homer; and three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the family home; eight sons, Gerald Dean, of Lakewood CO, Wayne Kay of Grand Junction CO, Dale Andrew of Slick Rock CO, David Charles of Dove Creek CO, Ross Dwayne of Rifel CO, Gary Lee and Larry Dean both of of Silverton CO, and Tony Allen of the family home; Six daughters, Ruby Shore of Bosque Farms NM, Phyllis Mulvey of Herald CA, Darlene Perkins of Plesant View CO,Hazel Pursse of Englewood CO, Ruth Elaine Wassemiller of Oakley KS, and Verna Meyers of Osborne KS; four brothers, Harvey of Vernon CO, Carl of High Park CO, Lewis of Colorado Springs CO, and Arthur of Gilcrest CO; five sisters, Alma Hopper of Pueblo CO, Edith Eli of Goodland KS, Mable Nass of Tribune KS, Martha Best of Enid OK, and Clara Flowers of Nucla CO; 28 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Dove Creek CO at 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 23, 1982. Interment was in the Dove Creek cemetery with graveside services by Troy Young post No. 5181."

Mabel Leona Kibel Nass 1926–1987

Martha Alice Kibel Best 1928–2016 is buried in Hennessey, Oklahoma

"Martha Alice (Kibel) Best was born Dec. 1, 1928 to Charles "Charley" and Daisy Kibel in Yuma Co., Colo.
She went to school at Stratton and Canon City, Colo. Martha married Donald Ambro “Don” Best in Goodland, Kan., in 1946. In 1953, they moved to Enid, OK.
She was affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church of Enid. A resident of Enid, OK., she died at the age of 87, Jan. 9, 2016, in Enid.
She was survived by daughters, Alice A. Smith, Joyce Koncaba, and Barbara Lewis; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husband, Don Best; son, Bobby Bruce Best; and her parents.
A funeral service celebrating her life was Jan. 15, 2016 at United Pentecostal Church, Enid, with burial at the Hennessey Cemetery. "
Arthur Willis Kibel 1935–2017
" Arthur Willis Kibel, 82, of Canon City, was united in marriage to Letha (Sporing) Kibelon January 24, 1955.
For many years, he worked on John Golden’s wheat ranch in Northwest Kansas. He later worked for the city of LaSalle, Colorado in Weld County before moving to Canon City in 1997. There, he worked for the Royal Gorge Bridge until retiring at the age of 75.
Arthur loved hunting and music and especially enjoyed playing the guitar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Letha Kibel; children, Stan (Dawn) Kibel, Johnnie (Sherri) Kibel, Mark (Shelly) Kibel; brother, Louis; sister, Clara; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Daisy (King) Kibel; son, Jim Kibel; infant son, Kurtis Kibel; four sisters and six brothers. "

In 1910 Yuma County, John Frederick Kibel is 26, Jessie E. 21, Sarah Mary 4, FLorence Elizabeth 2, and Lillie Bell 1.

John proved up a quarter in section 27, 2S 45W in 1911.


January 1911 "John Kibel, Fred Schloddarick and Joe Scherrup of over by Vernon were making final proof on their homestead entries Wednesday of this week before County Judge Jennings."

February 1912 Wray "J. F. Kibel of eleven miles southwest of Vernon was in town over Monday night and before leaving for home came in and became a new subscriber to the Rattler besides leaving a notice concerning his well drill."

In 1930 John is farming in Kit Carson County, 46, born in Illinois, Jessie 41 , Fred 19, Frances J. 15, Elsie E. 13, Floyd J. 11, Lorence E. and Florence P. both 7, Silvia M. 5, ALivn 2, and Bula V. 1, all born in Colorado.

They're farming in Kit Carson County in 1940, John 56, Jessie I. 51, Francis 25, Lawrence E. 17, Florence 17, Sylvia 15, Alvin 13, Beulah 11, and nephew Laurence A. 24 born in Colorado. Lester Rhoades 25 born in Oklahoma is a visitor, a mining laborer.

John is buried in Goodland, Kansas 1883-1944 # 66776803.

"Married Jessie Illinois Custer on April 16, 1905 in Wray, Colorado. This union was blessed with 13 children. Sarah Mae, Flossie Elizabeth, Lillie Bell, John Frederick Conrad Kibel, Jesse Francis Kibel, Elsie Grace, John Floyd Kibel, George Andrew Kibel, Florence Pearl, Lawrence Earl Kibel, Sylvia Marie, Alvin Louis Kibel and Beulah Fern."

"My husband's grandparents were John Fredrick Kibel, born Dec. 25, 1883 near Atlanta, Logan Co., Illinois to Charles Conrad and Mary Harriet Dilka Kibel. He was married April 16, 1905 in Wray, Yuma Co., Colorado to Jessie Illinois Custer, born March 2, 1889 in Wray, Colorado, daughter of Isaac Sylvester and Dora Jane Kier Custer. Jessie died April 1982 in Colorado.

"Tilly" Kibel and Lawrence Packer married on June 22, 1925 in Yuma County.

Lillie is buried in Kirk, Colorado "Married Lawrence Packer, this union was bless with five children. After Lawrence's death in 1937 she married his brother Albert Packer in 1942. Their union was blessed with five children.

"Born in Mildred, Colorado. Married Margaret E. Noel on May 2, 1940, they had five sons. They divorced then he married Grace on Feb 5, 1950, they had five children, two daughters and three sons, they divorced. He then married Betty L. Green, they divorced before his death."

"Florence P. Amack, age 85 of Prosser, entered into rest on September 18, 2007 at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, WA surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 18, 1922 in Mildred, Colorado to John and Jessie Illinois (Custer) Kibel. She met Carl William Amack, the love of her life. They were married on September 22, 1940 in Alma, Colorado. Together, they roamed from state to state, having a total of eight, children, almost all born in different states. They settled in Prosser in 1963. Upon the death of Florence's husband in 1996, she moved to the Tri Cities where she continued to reside until her death.
Florence enjoyed attending the Senior Center programs in Richland, collecting pictures, playing cards (especially pinochle), bingo and going to the casino. She was a member of the Kennewick Valley Grange. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of gold. She turned her back on no one and guests were always welcome in her home. At her table, she didn't have much but what she had she shared, even with the hobos that lived down by the river. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and taking care of them, especially her grandchildren, with compassion and love.
Florence is survived by her children, Ruthie Grady of W. Richland, Norma Bender and husband Miles of Prosser, Lawrence Amack and wife Tomoko of Japan, Loren Amack & wife Rose of Prosser, Randy Amack & wife Cha of Kennewick, Beverly Crow and husband Michael of W. Richland, Keith Amack of W. Richland, Stanley Amack and wife Sheryl of Norris, Montana; twin brother, Lawrence Kibel and wife Ilene of Sacramento, California and brother Alvin Kibel and wife Dora Marie of Golden, Colorado; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1996; son-in-law, Donn Grady; five brothers; and five sisters."

10. Lawrence Earl Kibel, b. May 18, 1922, Mildred, Yuma Co., CO. m. Ilene Ruth Humrich
"Lawrence Earl Kibel of Grass Valley, Calif. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family on May 20th, 2013. He was 91.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 3 p.m. on June 8th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 944 Canyon Way, Colfax, Calif.
Larry is survived by his six children, Jodie (Stephen) Urasz, Tim (Denise) Kibel, Richard (Linda) Kibel, Don Kibel, Rosellen Rothchild and Larry (Sandra) Kibel.
Larry was pre-deceased by his parents, his siblings, Wife Ilene Kibel and two grandsons, Stephen Kibel and Jimmy Rothchild."

January 13, 1916 "Jonah Sanderson and Miss Lizzie Kibel, both parties from Vernon, were married Monday at the court house in Wray. Judge Jennings performed the ceremony uniting the two."
