Frederick and Hannah Dilka   , Vernon

In 1870 Logan County, Illinois, Fred "Dilkey" is farming, 48, with Hannah 38, David 17, all three born in Germany, Paulina 13 in Maryland, and Andrew 10, Jacob 8, Mary 6, Joseph 4, Rosa seven months all born in Indiana.

1900 Yuma County, Frederick Dilka Jan 1825 and Johannah May 1832, both born in Germany.

In 1900 Fred and Johanna are next to daughter Paulina Scherupp.

JACOB

Jacob Dilka married Hattie Wise in Nebraska in 1886 and also came to Yuma County.

JOSEPH

Joseph Dilka was a railroad laborer in Tecumseh, Nebraska in 1900, born Sept 1867 in Ohio, with Lena (Pearson) Jan 1872 in Illinois. Ida September 1890 and Rolland Jan 1893 were born in Nebraska.

In 1900 Johnson County, Nebraska, Joseph Dilka is 32, born in Ohio, Letta 28, in Illinois, married 11 years. Fay is 9, Rolland 7, both born in Nebraska.


Joseph F. Dilka proved up a quarter in section 27, 2S 45W in 1913 a mile from Lester's claim.

In 1910 Joseph F. is in Yuma County, 42, with Letitia 38, Ida 19, and Rollen 17.

Letta is buried in Vernon # 42748732 "Funeral services were held at the Lockwood Mortuary in Wray Monday afternoon for Mrs. Joseph Dilka, a resident of the Vernon community since 1905. Mrs. Dilka died April 6 at the age of 76 years. Interment was at Glendale Cemetery at Vernon.
Lettie May Pearson, daughter of Charles and Eva Pearson and the eldest of ten children was born January 29, 1871 in Whiteside County, Illinois. She was married to Joseph Dilka in 1889 in Denovan, Nebraska. The couple had been married 61 years when Mrs. Dilka's death separated them. Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Dilka, both of whom survive--Mrs. Ida Roberts of Montrose, California and Rollen Dilka of Vernon. The family moved to Colorado in 1905 and have since resided in this community.
Three sisters of Mrs. Dilka survive her- -Mrs. Carl Broch of Tecumseh, Nebraska, Mrs. Edna Mathews and Mrs. H.O. Davidson of Portland, Oregon.

Joseph Frederick Dilka is buried in Vernon 1867-1960 # 42748843
"Funeral services were held at the Lockwood Mortuary in Wray Saturday morning, October 15, for Joe F. Dilka, a resident of this community since 1893. Mr. Dilka died October 12 at the age of 93 years, 25 days. The Rev. Willis Wisehart conducted the funeral rites that were followed by burial in Glendale Cemetery in Vernon.
Joseph Fredrick Dilka, son of Fredrick and Hannah Dilka, was born in Lincoln county, Indiana, in 1867. In 1889 he was married to Letty Pearson and two children were born to them, Ida and Rollin.
The family moved to Colorado in 1893 and homesteaded southwest of Wray in 1906. He continued his residence on the homestead until 1957 when he moved into Wray.
His wife, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Rollin Dilka of Wray; a daughter, Ida Roberts of Sacramento, California; one sister, Rose Brown of Leddy, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
