1953 Lawrence, Kansas "Mr. and Mrs. Herbert McKelvey of Lawrence announce the marriage of their daughter, Virginia, to Donald Noel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noel of Horton. The wedding took place Jan. 25 at the Church of God in Lawrence, with the Rev. Henr., Collins officiating at the double ring ceremony"

Ethel Mae (Sanderson) McKelvey 1915-2012, is buried in Lawrence, Kansas # 43497834.
"Funeral services for Ethel Mae McKelvey, 96, of Lawrence, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at First Southern Baptist Church, 4300 West 6th Street, Lawrence. Mrs. McKelvey died peacefully Saturday, April 14, at Brandon Woods surrounded by her family. Ethel was born July 7, 1915, in Stratton, Nebraska, the daughter of James Elvis and Frances Ann Smedley Sanderson. She attended school in Desoto, Kansas and had cosmetology schooling at Vanity Beauty Shop in Lawrence. She married Herbert McKelvey on August 19, 1931, in Olathe, Kansas. She opened Ethel's Beauty Shop in Lawrence in 1956. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, where she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, the Knife and Fork Club, and attended Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed reading, traveling, working on her yard, and visiting at nursing homes. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Noel, of San Diego, California; Barbara Forman, and her husband, John Forman, of Buckeye, Arizona; 7 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert McKelvey, on Oct. 31, 1984; daughter, Vera Ruth McKenzie on Nov. 27, 1999; brother, Robert Sanderson on June 29, 2011; and her parents and two sisters, Eva Shore and Ella Russell."

"Vera R. McKenzie, 66, died Nov. 27, 2000. McKenzie worked as an accountant at KU Computing Services for 24 years.
She is survived by her husband, Howard N. McKenzie; her son, Mark, St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Janet S. Breithaupt and Dee A. Strickland, both of Lawrence; her mother, Ethel McKelvey of Lawrence; two sisters, Virginia Noel of San Diego and Barbara Forman of Newcastle, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Eva (Sanderson)(Shore) Sanders 1904-1986 is buried in Russell, Lucas County, Iowa. George Lincoln Shore 1895-1955 and Ora Sanders 1914-1994 were her spoouses.

Robert Leroy Sanderson was born 28 September 1921 in Wray, Yuma Co, Colorado, the only son and fourth child of James E. and Frances A. Smedley Sanderson. Before 1930 his family had moved to Lawrence, Kansas, where he lived for the rest of his life.
He was married to Doris Jean Metzger on 7 July 1940 in Oskaloosa, Kansas, and they had one child, Patty Jean.
Robert was inducted into the army during World War II at Fort Leavenworth in Leavenworth, Kansas, 21 December 1942. He served his country for three years and then was discharged 17 October 1945 at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington.
He was divorced from Doris in about 1946 and married Gladys Elizabeth Groninger in March of 1950. His second daughter, Carol Louise, was born in 1952. Robert and Gladys were married twenty one years and he lovingly cared for her throughout her last illness and she passed away 22 January 1971.
Robert married Eunice Margaret Maxwell 10 September 1971. Robert and Eunice were married twenty six years and he lovingly cared for her throughout a devastating illness that took her life in September 1997.
Robert and Doris, his first wife, remarried 4 August 1999. They had nearly twelve very happy years together until Doris passed away 9 June 2011. At the age of 89, Robert lovingly cared for her, spending over twelve hours a day at her side at the nursing home where she was being cared for after a fall and physical decline. He did this for almost seven months, refusing to leave her to the care of others. After her death, Robert himself became ill and passed away twenty days later.

August 1962 "Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gain and daughters of San Bernardino, California, were overnight guests last week of Harold's sister, Mrs. Marcus Muirheid and family. ...The Muirheid family and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Peterson of Holyoke motored to Greeley over the weekend for a longer visit with the California vacationers and with Mr. and Mrs. Asa Gain and Mr. and Mrs. Edsel Gain."

July 28, 1911 "Jonah and John Sanderson returned home Friday, after a month's visit with home folks in Beardsley, Nebraska."

In 1915, Cleve Mason was a witness for the claim of Jonah W. Sanderson for land in 2S 46W.




Jonah proved up 240 acres in section 8, 2S 46W in 1916.

January 13, 1916 "Jonah Sanderson and Miss Lizzie Kibel, both parties from Vernon, were married Monday at the court house in Wray. Judge Jennings performed the ceremony uniting the two."

In 1920 Mildred, next to John, Jonah is farming, 29, Lizzie 24, Mary 6, Senara 4, and Dorothea 1.

In 1930, Jonah is in Dundy County, Nebraska, farming, 39, with Lizie 35, Mary 16, Lenora 13, Dorothy 12, Robert 10, Minnie M. 7, Henry L. 3 - these kids born in Colorado. Wilma C. is 1, born in Nebraska. Daughter? Florence M. Wiksell is 22, born in Nebraska, father born in Sweden, mother in Iowa.


Jonah Washington Sanderson 1890-1974 is buried in Fort Collins, # 120222973, with Elizabeth K. (Kibel) Sanderson 1894-1989.

D. Marie Westman, 85, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2004, in Fort Collins.
A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road. The Rev. Robert Geller will officiate. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Dorothy Marie Sanderson was born June 29, 1918, in Vernon to Jonah W. and Elizabeth K. (Kible) Sanderson. She graduated from high school in Wray in 1933. She had resided in Fort Collins since 1935.
Dorothy married LaVern Donald Westman on Aug. 10, 1938, in Fort Collins. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Westman worked as a waitress for Ace Gillette's Restaurant in The Northern Hotel. She later was a cook at The Black Knight Inn and then at Woodward Governor.
She loved crafts and quilting and had been a member of Grandma's Quilting Club.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Westman, of LaPorte; her brother Ray Sanderson and her sister Catherine Roadifer, both of Greeley. Also surviving are her two grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren.

Mary O. Trumbull, 89, of Chappell, died at her home in Chappell on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Assembly of God Church in Chappell with Pastor Jack O?Steen officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. at the Rose Lawn Cemetery in Ft. Collins, Colo. Friends can call at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to either MHC Hospice or the Assembly of God Church in Chappell.
Mary Otilda Trumbull was born in Vernon, Colo. on Oct. 27, 1913 the daughter of Jonah and Elizabeth (Kible) Sanderson. She lived with her family in Vernon until she was five years when the family moved to Wray, Colo. She attended school through the 8th grade and lived in Wray with her family until she married John Charles Trumbull on Jan. 24, 1947 in Ft. Collins, Colo. They moved to Scottsbluff in 1948 and they raised their family there until moving to Greeley, Colo. in 1969. She moved to Potter in 1978 and lived there until 1985 at which time she received her GED through the Alliance High School, graduating with two of her grandsons, her daughter and son-in-law. She then moved to Sidney and lived there with her daughter, Mary Chilewski until 2000 when she moved to Chappell to live with her daughter, Janice Zajicek. She loved to sing hymns and play the organ, draw and she enjoyed writing short stories on brown paper bags for her brothers and sisters when she was living at home. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband and nine siblings preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters and their spouses, Mary Chilewski of Sidney, Janice Zajicek of Chappell, Joan and Bill Young of Sidney and Esther and Don Butterfield of Sidney; one son and his wife, John and Lana Trumbull of Sidney; one brother and his wife, Raymond and Rose Sanderson of Greeley; two sisters, Wilma Rodifer of Greeley and Dorothy Westman of Ft. Collins; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lenora Irene Smith died March 18, 2002, at age 85 in Gresham, Multnomah County, Oregon.
Lenora Irene Sanderson was born Nov. 9, 1916, in Vernon, Colo. She moved to Portland in 1943 and was a homemaker and a cook at Ron's Restaurant. She later lived in Estacada and Gresham and was a volunteer cook at the Estacada Senior Center. In 1943, she married Garland "Dale"; he died in 1976.
Survivors include her daughters, Dee Cramlet and Sandra L. Ward; sons, Dan L. and Ray L.; sisters, Mary Trumbull, Dorothy "Marie" Westman and Wilma C. Roadifet; brother, Raymond Sanderson; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

Robert W. Sanderson 1920-2000 is buried in Greeley, per # 65233945.


JOHN

In 1920 Yuma County, John is next to Jonah. John is 31, born in Missouri, with Anna 20 born in Colorado.

November 28, 1974 "Funeral services for John Wesley Sanderson were held Saturday, November 23, 1974 at the Baptist Church in Wray with Rev. Calvin Post officiating. Interment was at Grandview Cemetery.

John Wesley Sanderson was born September 30, 1888 to George Washington and Sarah Margueritte Sanderson in Ray County, Missouri. He passed away at the Wray Community Hospital November 20, 1974 at the age of 86 years, one month, and twenty days.

The family moved to their home near Happyville in 1913. In 1916 he was married to Anna Bell Kibel and four daughters were born to this union. He farmed near Vernon and then moved to the Wray community and continued farming until 1956 when he moved to the home in Wray.

He was the last survivor of a family of five boys and six girls. His wife, Anna, preceded him in death. He is survived by four daughters, Graice Newton and Irene Muller, both of Wray, Betty Warren of Greeley and Violet Sanderson who lived at home, six gtrandchildren.
Irene 1934-2012 is buried in Wray "Irene (Sanderson) Muller, 78 was born July 21, 1934 to John and Anna (Kibel) Sanderson in Wray, Colorado. She passed away August 11, 2012 at the Wray Community Hospital in Wray, Colorado. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, in Wray with Pastor Randy Payne officiating."





Violet Fay (Sanderson) Rawson 1940-2001 is buried in Wray, with Melvin E. Rawson 1940-2002.

ROY Elma Fay Stuck, daughter of Ulysses L. and Inna Elma Stuck (1912-1986) married Roy Sanderson.

October 10, 1935 - "death of our dear father and uncle - Mrs. Burr Glenn, Bertie Stuck, Arthur Stuck, Mrs. Vera Josh, Mrs. Elma Sanderson, and Ivan Stuck and family."



In 1940 Yuma County, Roy is farming, 39, born in Kansas. Elma 27, Florence 6, Loyd 5, Lester 3, Arch 2, and Margaret three months were all born in Colorado. His mother Sally , 83, widowed, born in Missouri, is with them.

Lester Sanderson 1937-2015 has an unknown burial, per # 146833836.
"Lester W. Sanderson passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at his home after a long illness in Montrose, Colo.
Lester William Sanderson was born on July 26, 1936, in Eckley, Colo., to Roy and Elma (Stuck) Sanderson. He grew up in Eckley and graduated from Eckley High School. In 1955, he bought a farm on the Western Slope and moved his mother and siblings to Montrose. 
Lester continued to farm and ranch on High Mesa and on Hastings Mesa until his death. He spent more than three decades as a logger and logging-truck driver in his beloved mountains. He retired in 2008. "
Lester was preceded in death by his father and mother, Roy and Elma (Stuck) Sanderson; his brothers, Lloyd, Archie, James, Harvey and Lincoln Sanderson; and his sisters, Florence Sanderson and Cledia Seeley.
He is survived by his wife and partner of 54 years, Clara Joan Sanderson; his daughters, Cheryl Sanderson, Carol Zahniser (Steve), and Judy Sanderson; his grandchildren, Jimmy Joe Weber (Lauren) and Jessica Lynn Webber; his great-grandchildren, Julian, Jakota and Jaden Leiby and Ameila Weber; his brothers, Ray (Carol) and Johnny (Edita); and his sisters, Margaret Gribbens (Bob) and Helen Douglas.

No memorial services are planned at this time.

1985 Eckley items "Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Benedict (the former Margaret Sanderson) of Montrose were Wednesday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin McDonald.
Among those attending the 50th wedding anniversary of Frank and Vera Josh were Cledia Sealy and children and Elma Sanderson of Montrose,
