local high school and is popular with a large circle of the younger people

north of Eckley, and Mrs. Sylvia Barrett of Wray,
surprised their friends on Monday of last week when, they were
quietly married at Akron. Mr. and Mrs. Peavler will reside on the
groom’s farm north of Eckley. Both the bride and groom are well
known in this locality. Mr. Peavler is one of the old settlers of
Yuma county, having lived during the pioneer days on a ranch
some 15 miles southwest of Wray near the old C-12 ranch.

She was married to Andrew J. Peavler on Oct. 12, 1935, Eads, Colo.
Coming to Emmett in 1936, she has since resided here.
Surviving besides her husband is one brother, Charles Van Horn of Eckley,
Colo. Services are pending at the Beatty Chapel in Emmett."

December 1911 "Andy Pevler and his niece, Miss Mazie Runion,
of north of Eckley were in Wray over last Thursday night."
In 1914 Andrew J. Pevler of Eckley was a witness for the claim of
Mazie B. Runyon for land in 26, 3N 46W.
March 1925 Wray "Andrew Pevler, old timer north of Ecklcy, was doing business and greeting
friends in Wray Tuesday. Andy does not get down this way very often,
but has many friends to visit with here when he does come."

Artie Elbern McCasland was born August 10, 1883 in Smith County, Kansas, dying in Yuma March 17, 1961.
He married Josie Watson in 1906, having a daughter Velma. Josie died in the 1918 influenza epidemic.
He came to Yuma, marrying Lizzie Ferguson Sept 8, 1923. He was survived by his wife Lizzie, daughter
Velma Decker of Denver, stepdaughters Mrs. Vada Peavler of Denver and Mrs. Valjean Peavler of Derby.

March 27, 1958 Red Cloud, Nebraska "Zeela B,
youngest daughtcr of Creed and Annie Perry, was born in Smith County,
Kansas on June 29, 1906, and passed away at the Colorado General Hospital
in Denver March 14, 1958.
When she was five years of age she moved with her parents tc Yuma County
Colorado where she attended country school and later attended high
school in Red Cloud, Nebr. for a while.
She was married to Leonard Pevler of Sterling, Colo.,
where they made their home for several years. Then Zeela and children
moved to Denver, where she was employed at Kresge's store,
the Kaiser plant, then went to work for the Mountain States Telephone
company, and the Westwood Ex.
To know Zeela was to love her. She took sick in 1952 and all that
) medical cars and loving hands cculd do was to no avail.
She was a patient sufferer, never complaining,
and keeping her happy disposition until she became
unconscious about a week before her death.
She was married to Mapison Garrick in Ely, Nev.,
who has been a most faithful and loving husband.
They lived in Utah several years, then moved to Denver, Colo.,
for awhile then moved to Central City, Colo., where
their home is now. She was a member of the Latter Day Saint Church
Zeela was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister
Beulah, brother Bert and grandson Danny Ambrosia.
She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her husband Morrison
Garrick, three children, Eugene Pevler of Derby, Colo.,
Bea D. Ambrosia of Denver, Colo., and Glenddar Garrick of
Central City, Colo.: Also six grandsons and two granddaughters
two sisters, Mrs. Lettie Miksch of Red Cloud, Nebr., and
Mrs. Eula Prill of Denver, Colo., a sister-in-law Mrs.
Ruth Perry of Garden City Kansas. She is also survived by
four step-children; Mrs. Donna Garrett of El Segundo, Calif.,
Berner Garrick of Woodland Hills, Calif.,
Eldred Garrick of Salt Lake City, Utah, and 113m Garrick
of Provo, Utah, also six step-grandchildren,
many other relatives and a host of friends.

December 1932 " Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blacker entertained at Christmas
dinner Sunday the following: Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Blacker,
Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Blacker and family,
Mr. and Mrs Fred Blacker and son Glen,
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rice and daughter and son,
Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Pevler and granddaughters Leona and Beulah,
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pevler and son Ross,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reavis and baby daughters Letha and Fleeta,
and Mrs. Gus Peterson and family, Mrs. Ralph Sigwing and family,
and Tom Hatch. There were 47 in all. Everyone enjoyed a fine dinner of
turkey, duck and chicken. All had a very pleasant time and
it was a late hour when all departed for their respective homes."
November 1942 "Corrilla Isebel Pevler, daughter of Lafe and Martha Pevler, was bo in in Lynn County, Missouri, on April 24, 1873, and passed away at her home in Wray, on Sunday afternoon, November 22, at the age of 66 years, six months and twenty-eight days. She grew to young womanhood in Missouri. On October 8, 1892, she was united in marriage to Oscar Pevler at Bloomington, Illinois. They came to Colorado to make their home in January 1906. They lived on a homestead fourteen miles southwest of Wray, until a few years ago, at which time they moved to Wray to make their home. To this union, nine children were j bom —one daughter, Edna Mae Lucas, preceding her mother in death on October 8, 1937, at Kansas City, Missouri. Those who mourn are her husband, Oscar Pevler and the following children Mrs. Eva Starling, Eckley; Mrs. Ella Sigwing. Wray; Mrs. Edith Blacker, Wray ; Mrs. Vennie Reavis, Denver; Chase of Attumwa, Iowa; Leonard of Sterling; Delbert of Denver; and Walter of Loveland. Theer are also thirty grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were heid at the Hitchcock Mortuary Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. William Brown. Interment was at Glendale Cemetery, Vernon."
November 20, 1958 "Charles Oscar Pevler,
son of Loona and John Pevler, was born March 30, 1871,
at LeRoy, I11., and died November 14 at
Denver General hospital in Denver at the age of 87 years
, seven months and fifteen days.
Funeral services for Mr. Pevler were held at the
Lockwood Mortuary in Wray Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock,
conducted by the Rev. Robert Bill. Interment was at
Glendale cemetery at Vernon Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Pevler grew to manhood in Illinois and on
October 8, 1892, he was married to Corilla Isabelle Peavler
at Bloomington, I11. In January of 1906 they
came to Colorado to make their home on a
homestead fourteen miles southeast of Wray.
Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Pevler
Two daughters, Edna Mae Lucas and Eva Starling,
preceded their father in death. After the
death of his wife, on November 22, 1942,
he made his home with his children.

and one brother, Andrew Pevler of New Plymouth, Idaho."
Castle Rock "Ray Blacker, of Castle Cleaners, went to Wray,
Colo., to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Oscar B. Pevler,
who died following a very short illness. Pevler was raised in
Indiana and Iowa but spent most of his life, since 1906,
in the Wray area where he farmed. Burial was at Vernon, Colo.,
about 10 miles south and 4 miles west of Wray."

Ocrober 1957 "Bertha Mae Pevler, daughter of David and Clara Thomas,
was born September 30, 1900, at Wray and died at the Colorado State
hospital, at Pueblo, September 28, 1957, at the age of 56 years,
11 months and 28 days. Her death followed a short illness from a heart
condition. She had been a patient at the State Hospital for
thirty-two years. Her marriage to Chase W. Pevler took place in Wray on
November 8, 1919. They became the parents of two girls.
Mrs. Pevler is survived by her children,
Mrs. Beulah Bruhn of Unionville, Iowa, and Leona Harr of Albia, Iowa,
and ten grandchildren. Her mother and father preceded her in death.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete when the information of
Mrs. Pevler's death was received, but burial will be in the Blakesburg cemetery at Blakesburg, lowa.
March 1957 Eckley "Donald Coffman of Breckenridge, Tex., came to visit his parents and sister, Millie Pevler, and family. He left Sunday morning to go back to his work.."
July 4, 1963 Pleasant Valley items "Sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Mabel Van Horn Pevler, who passed away at Emmet Idaho.. well known to this community."
1954 "Mrs. Millie Pevler arrived here, called by the death of Frank Pevler."
November 1970 "Navy Seaman Apprentice Terry L. Pevler, son of Mrs. Millie Pevler of Eckley, graduated from basic training and was ordered to report to the USS T.E. Chandler at Long Beach."
July 1955 "Guests recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Workman, were relatives of Mrs. Workman. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rorabaugh of Juntura, Oregon, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pevler of Emmet, Idaho. They also visited a sister, Mrs. Andrew Olson of Minature, Nebraska."
