March 25, 1908 Sterling, Colorado " Some weeks ago Mrs. Julia A. Tucker, of Key, Nebraska, came to visit her sons, Messrs. H. S. Tucker of Atwood and Jacob of Sterling. Shortly after her arrival she had a stroke of palsy on the right side. After a few days it passed from the right to the left side and still continues. She is gradually growing weaker and it is feared she will not recover. Her husband was sent for as quick as the first shock occurred and came at once, accompanied by his sons Robert, Joe and Dee, and his daughter, Mrs. Maggie Hopkins. Shortly after his arrival he, too, had a stroke but is better now."

June 9, 1909 "Thomas Tucker died at the home of his son, Jacob Tucker, east of Willard, on June the 4th, 1909. Mr. Tucker was 78 years of age, and had been ill for some time. Interment took place at the Riverside cemetery, June 6th."

June 1913 "Mrs. H. S. Tucker of Sterling visited her mother, Mrs. W. W. Dunston last week, returning home Saturday."

Calvert and children, Mr. and Mrs. Duschanek and daughter, Helen, Mrs. Cedate Amy and sons Lee and Clifford, Miss Ellen Tucker of Merino and her brother Edward, who is visiting her from Ravana. Neb., and Wm. Riordan of Atwood. In the afternoon W. L. Tucker and Sherman Tucker joined the bunch."

March 1919 Sterling "H. S. Tucker has assumed control of the Southern hotel in Sterling. Mr. Tucker has had the building rcdecorated, papered and remodeled through-out. Mr. Tucker has also installed a soft drink parlor and restaurant on the first floor."

In 1920 Sterling, H. S. Tucker is an auctioneer, 53, Ella May Tucker 48 Wife, and Lizzie Hopkins 26 Niece.

February 1923 "H. S. Tucker, formerly an auctioneer living at Sterling and a deputy sheriff of Logan county, has been sentenced to jail from thirty to ninety days at Brighton, according to a telephone message received by Sheriff Ray R. Powell today from Denver.
A Denver newspaper called the sheriff's office here to obtain information regarding Tucker. It was said that Tucker was arrested under the influence of liquor when his car turned over near Brighton. He was seen to go through Greeley at a high speed, it was said, and officers telephoned ahead to put others on the watch for him. Tucker left Sterling several months ago with little ceremony; his leaving being during the night, apparently. At the time of his alleged arrest at Brighton he is said to have been wearing a star signifying his office as deputy sheriff of this county. Sheriff Powell explained today that Tucker has not, at anv time since his term began, held the office of deputy."

In March 1923 Henry S. Tucker filed for bankruptcy in Denver, noticed published in the Sterling Republican-Advocate.

August 1924 Routt County "H. S. Tucker, who is an experienced auctioneer, came in last Friday from Denver and on Sunday was joined by his wife, who had been visiting in Kremmiing. He was here last year and some horses belonging to him were cared for during the winter by D. H. Coyner. Mr. and Mrs. Tucker may decide to locate here permanently."

In 1930 Sterling, Walter Hague is 66, Ella Hague 57 Wife, and Pauline Dunston 77 Mother-in-law, widowed.

August 1943 Ord, Nebraska " Mrs. Lizzie Long, North Bend, Wash., and Mrs. Ella Dunsten, Cheyenne, Wyo., who had been here for the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Hopkins, left on the Monday afternoon bus for their homes. Floyd Hopkins and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Conrad of Grants Pass, Calif., who had also been here during Mrs. Hopkins] illness the past two weeks, left for their homes Tuesday. Mrs. Nettie Limerick of Council Bluffs, sister of Mrs. Hopkins, returned home on the Monday afternoon freight. A nephew, Lloyd Groseclose of Waterloo, Iowa, returned home Sunday. All had been guests in the Earl Howell home."

November 25, 1946 "Walter Hague, 82. a resident of Loveland for three years, died at the Loveland hospital Saturday night. He had been ill for only a short time. Mr. Hague was born in Ohio, March 8, 1864. Prior to coming to Loveland, he resided in Sterling for 32 years. He was a retired apartment house operator. He is survived by his wife."

"The marriage of Miss Carrie Tucker to Mr.Carl Browns, both of Merino, occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Vance, south of Sterling, Thursday evening, September 23, 1909, Rev. F. T. Kreuger of the Methodist church, officiating.
Mr. Browns is a brother of A. F. Browns of Sterling, and is a young man of industry and sobriety, worthy in every respect the love of the young woman whom he has led to the altar. They will make their home in Merino."
