March 25, 1908 Sterling, Colorado " Some weeks ago Mrs. Julia A. Tucker, of Key, Nebraska, came to visit her sons, Messrs. H. S. Tucker of Atwood and Jacob of Sterling. Shortly after her arrival she had a stroke of palsy on the right side. After a few days it passed from the right to the left side and still continues. She is gradually growing weaker and it is feared she will not recover. Her husband was sent for as quick as the first shock occurred and came at once, accompanied by his sons Robert, Joe and Dee, and his daughter, Mrs. Maggie Hopkins. Shortly after his arrival he, too, had a stroke but is better now."

June 9, 1909 "Thomas Tucker died at the home of his son, Jacob Tucker, east of Willard, on June the 4th, 1909. Mr. Tucker was 78 years of age, and had been ill for some time. Interment took place at the Riverside cemetery, June 6th."

January 1913 Sterling "After wandering about, almost clothesless for several hours, in the cold out of doors, Robert Tucker, the victim of a delirium caused from a mallgnant form of the mumps, was found at the Perkins residence by R. C. Perkins and taken back to his room at the Hague house by Sheriff Emery and Deputy Patterson.
About a week ago, Mr. Tucker, who at the time was rooming at the Ohio house, contracted tbe mumps, and as his condition grew worse he was taken to the Hague house and there under the care of a trained nurse.
Thursday evening he seemed much improved, and after administering to the patient's wants, the nurse left him, however, locking the door, she went. The next morning Mr. Tucker became delerious and escaped from his room through tbe window. He wandered about town, almost naked, and exposed to the severe cold, until he called at the J. L. Schubert residence where he secured a coat and hat. After leavlng the Schubert home he went to the R. C. Perkins ranch, where he was found in an almost unconscious and frozen condition by Mr. Perkins, who took him in and warmed him. The sheriff and his assistant were notified, who immediately arrived on the scene and took the sick man in charge.
Mr. Tucker was taken to his room as qulckly as possible in Sam Patterson*s automobile, and there given all the medical aid possible. Today he much improved, and according to the doctor's roport, will recover. "
