SISTER MARY
February 1929 "Mary Delilah Stiverson was born in Marion Co.,
Ohio, Feb. 23, 1854 and departed this life at the home of her
brother, M. L. Stiverson at Wray, Colo., on Feb. 14, 1929,
at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 22 days. At the age of
16 she came with her parents to Piatte Co., I11.,
and made her home. She was married to Chas. L. Elledge
Feb. 12 1890, moving at once to their home near Superior,
Neb. where she continued to make her home until the death
of her husband, 6 years ago.
To this union two children were born, Freda, who is
left to mourn her mother's departure and Esther who
preceded her in death at the age of two years.
She also leaves 3 brothers and one sister,
George W. Stiverson of Monticello, Illinois,
M. L. Stiverson of Wray, Colo.,
Mrs. Elizabeth Bloomingdale of Decatur, Illinois,
and J. U. G. Stiverson of Spokane, Wash.
At an early age she became a Christian and at the
time of her death was a member of the Methodist church
at Superior, Nebraska. Ten years ago she had a severe
attack of blood poisoning and, with complications,
it left her an invalid. She was always patient,
never complaining of her afflictions.
To know her was to love her. Nearly 2 years
ago she came to make her home with her brother,
M. L. Stiverson.
Funeral services were held at Superior,
Saturday afternoon with the burial beside her
husband there. Short services were held at the
Stiverson home Thursday afternoon,
Rev. Carpenter in charge.
Miss Freda Elledge, daughter, and Mrs.
Winnie Sutton accompanied the remains to Superior,
leaving on No. 16 Friday morning."
