Lewis D. and Mary E. (Mourning) Mullison

In 1860 Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, Samuel C. Mullison is 37, Lucina 36, Jabes C. 14, Otis A. 12, Lucina 9, and Lewis D. 3.

In 1870 Luzerne County, Samuel Mullison is 49, Lusian 46, Lewis 13, Emery 1, and Fabez C. 24.

Mary R. Mourning is in McDonough County, Illinois in 1870, 13, with Wm. H. 39 and Nancy A. 31. Emma is 9, Margaret 6, F.M. 5, Harvey 3, and Eugene 1.
William Harvey Mourning 1831-1898 is buried in McDonough County, Illinois, # 53866764, with Nancy Ann (Breeden) Mourning 1838-1924 # 53866864.

In 1900 Cheyenne County, Kansas, Lewis Mullison is farming, born April 1856 in Pennsylvania, married 20 years to Mary July 1856 Illinois. She's had six kids, four living.
Norma August 1881 in Iowa,Ray C. August 1883 Nebraska, Dormie August 1883 and Irma March 1894 in Kansas.

December 1905 Wray "Alma and Dorma Mullison are newly enrolled pupils in the 5th and 7th grades."

In 1909 L.D. Mullison applied to lease Section 36, 3N 44W.

September 24, 1909 "Mr. T. G. Eastwood of Girard, Kansas arrived Tuesday for a visit with his niece Mrs. Mary Mullison whom he had not seen for thirty-five years."

This is Jefferson Green Eastwood, Margaret Jane (Mourning) Eastwood's widower. She's buried in Girard 1833-1907 # 53867224.


They're living on the Holyoke Road in 1910 Yuma County, Louis D. 53, Mary E. 52, Dorman E. 19, Irma L. 16, and Ray C. 26.

April 22, 1910 " Mary E. Mullison and sister, Florine, called on Mrs. Goudy one afternoon this week and report a pleasant trip.
Florine Mourning, a sister to Mary E. Mullison, who has been living near Greeley for three years, is on her way to Illinois to spend the summer with home folks and friends, stopped off at Wray to visit her sister and family. She may come back to Colorado some time this fall."

July 1910 "Homer Wallace, wife and children, from St. Francis, Kansas, visited at the Norma Mullison and L. D. Mullison homes several days of last week. Miss Gladys May, from Armel, came with them. Both girls are sisters of Edna Mullison."

In 1920 Yuma County, Lewis Mullison is farming, 62, born in Pennsylvania, with Mary 62 in Illinois. Daughter Irma Wde 25 is widowed, born in Kansas, with her son Leslie 1, born in Colorado.

Lewis D. Mullison 1857-1925 is buried in Wray # 81598148, with Mary E. Mullison 1857-1930, # 81598163.


1915
1915 Fort Morgan Colorado "Mr. Mullison of Wray visited his nephew, Fred Mullison, this week. He went to Antelope Springs to look over a large tract of land there with the intention of investing."
December 1915 "Mr. Mullison of Antelope Springs, and Roy and Ralph Mullison of Fort Morgan spent Christmas with Fred Mullison."

(Roy Mullison died in the service, according to the Morgan County listing of gold star.)


DORMAN

Dorman E. Mullison married Irene Klein in Fort Morgan, Colorado on April 16, 1917.

Dorman proved up 200 acres in sections 10, 11 and 14, 2 North 44 West, in 1920.

In 1920 he's farming, 29, with Irene F. 22 and Frances M. 1.

Dorman and Irene are farming in Weld County in 1930, with Francis M. 12, Loren R. 10, and newborn Sara R.

They divorced in Weld County in 1934.

Dorman died June 25, 1944, buried in Laramie, Wyoming # 78704766.

Sarah Ruth (Mullison) Leonnig 1929-1993 is buried in Wheat Ridge, # 162770795.

Frances Mary Shaklee was born January 10, 1918 in Wray to Dorman E. Mullison and Irene F. Klein, dying August 27, 1989.
She married Ivan Vincent Shaklee in Gilpin County on December 24, 1934.

1937 Greeley "Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shaklee and family left Monday for.Oregon, where Ihey will spend Ihe winter."

They're in Denver in 1940.

They're buried in Baker City, Oregon, Ivan 1910-1970 # 136225305



a Frances 1918-1989 # 139725800 is also buried in Baker City "Ashes with daughter Maurine."

Loren R. Mullison 1920-1965 is buried in Wheat Ridge, Colorado # 122944633, with Virgina on the tombstone.
Mr. Mullison died unexpectedly Friday in his home at 2435 W. 33rd Ave. He was 45.
A bookkeeper at Bartelde's Seed Co. for 20 years, Mr. Mullison was born in Wray, Jan. 29, 1920.
He served in the Army during World War II, and was a prisoner of war in Europe. He married the former Virginia Haas in Immaculate Conception Church in Colorado, Sept. 23, 1950.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter, his mother and 2 sisters.
IRMA

Irma Mullison Wade proved up two quarters in section 23, 1N 44W in 1917, witnesses Lewis D. Mullison, Dorman E. Mullison, Noah Bolender, and Mary Nelson, all of Wray.

She married George H. Wade on Feb 9, 1917 in Yuma County.

She divorced George H. Wade in Yuma County on April 7, 1921.

"Alma" L. Wade, 36 is a housekeeper for Frank and May Weaver in 1930 Wraay.
Her son Leslie Wade was living with her widowed mother Mary Mullison in same location in 1930.

Irma Loretta Wade married Clarence Claud Harless in Yuma County June 19, 1936.

In 1940 Moffat County, Colorado, Irma is 46, a cook for the Thomas Small ranch. She was in Wray in 1935.

Clarence Harless 1874-1942 is buried in Wray # 81625589.

NORMA

February 21, 1908 "A fine boy was born last week to Mr. and Mrs. Norma Mullison, north of town."

Norma O. Mullison had a daughter born April 9, 1910.

November 1910 Armel items "Mrs. Mullison and children, of the sand hills are visiting her father, Hollis May, and family."
November 1913 "Miss Gladys May who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Norma Mullison north of Wray returned home Wednesday of last week." MARY'S SIBLINGS

Mary's brotherJoseph R. Mourning, of Laird, divorced in 1929, married Mrs. Alice J. Patterson of Laird on February 14, 1931. He was 50, Alice was 43.

In 1880 McDonough County, Illinois, William Mourning is 48, Nancy A. 41, with Emma B. 18, Maggie E. 17, Marion F. 15, Harvey 13, Eugene 10, Jennie 9, Annie 6, Martin 4, and Minnie 1.



In 1910 McDonough County, Minnie Mourning is a cook, 31, living with sister Ella Louk, 47 and her husband Marion Tulk 48, working in a brick factory.

Ella Louk was widowed in 1940 Colton, California)

Ella Betson 1863-1948 is buried in Colton, California # 43808000.

Minnie Florine Mourning, 32, married Will C. Maxwell, 33 in Denver, Colorado (recorded in Weld County ) on September 17, 1910.
They're farming in Pima County, Arizona in 1920, William 42 born in Arkansas, Minnie 41, Hazel 5 and Minnie M. 2 both born in Idaho.

They're in Pinal County, Arizona in 1930 and 1940.
William Carnahan Maxwell, born Sept 9, 1877 in Arkansas to Michael Burkhatter Maxwell and America Jane WOod, died in Phoenix January 2, 1950, to be buried in Mountain VIew, Casa Grande.
FindaGrave # 35914958 says "William C. Maxwell, who was caretaker at the Southside Grammar School of Casa Grande for 13 years, passed away Monday at Phoenix. Mr. Maxwell was born in Bentonville, Arkansas on September 9, 1877. The last two years after retiring he has spent in Phoenix. Mr. Maxwell was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Florine Maxwell; and three daughters, Hazel, Maxine and Wilma; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Cole and Maud Chapel, with the Rev. J. T. Weeks, of the First Baptist Church, officiating. The body was interred in the Mountain View Cemetery in Casa Grande."

Minnie Florine Maxwell 1878-1962 is buried with him # 35913718.

Pittsburg, Kansas "Married On the 1st day of January, 1896, by Rev. Benj. F. Summers, Mr. Harvey B. Mourning, of Neosho county and Miss Carrie H. Teeple, of Walnut. "
Harvey Berry Mourning and Carrie M. Teeple had Faye Leotis on May 15, 1900 in Kansas City, who married Harold Fuller and died in Utah in 1958 # 45624890.

1913 Kansas City "Last Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Mourning pleasantly entertained a number of their old time friends at their home, 2510 North Eighth street, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Teeple of Stark, Kansas, and Mrs. Guy S. Sparks of Tide Lake, Canada. The evening was spent in music and games, after which dainty refreshments were served. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Kirkpatrick, Mr. and Mrs. John Lutzon, Mr. and Mrs. John Mourning, Misses Ada Sheldon, Nina Brooks, Inez Kirkpatrick, Faye Mourning, Geneva Brooks, Leta Lutzon, Louella Kirkpatrick, Lois Mourning, Dorothy Zimmerman; Messrs. A. Zimmerman, A. Shidlre, Ephraim Dahlin, Loreu Miller, Dale Mourning, Wayne Mourning, Leon Zimmerman and John Mourning, Jr."
