In 1880 Gage County, Nebraska, Shedric Gordon is 6 , born in Nebraska, with S.S Gordon 57 farming, Crestine 48, both orn in Ohio. Eli is 14 herding,m Jane 11, and Ira 7 all three born in Indiana.

Christina (Gushwa) Gordon 1832-1906 is buried in Cambridge, Nebraska # 98366959, with Sylvester Gordon 1829-1907 # 57709985, "Co I, 12th Indiana Cavalry"

In 1885 Furnas County, Nebraska, Lillie May Cline is 4, with Adam 34 a harness maker born in Ohio, and Sarah D. 32 Illinois. Rella V. is 10, born in Iowa, Erma 6 and Lillie May 4 and Flossie D. 2 born in Nebraska.


In 1900 Furnas County, Nebraska, Shedrick is farming, born June 1874 in Nebraska, married one year to Lilly M. May 1881 and Amelia March 1900, all three born in Nebraska.

In 1910 Wray, Shadrach is a railroad section worker, 36, with Lillie M. 29, Amelia M. 10, all three born in Nebraska. Eva B. 8, Agnes 6, Winnie 5, Floyd 4, Arthur L. 2, and Lilly R. seven months, all born in Colorado.

December 1911 "The Misses Mella, Eva and Angie Gordon, who live north of town, left Tuesday evening for Cambridge and Bartley, Nebr., where they will visit their grandmother and uncle during the holidays."

February 1912 " A little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shed Gordon is reported to us as being quite sick."

September 14, 1916 "Essie Junia Gordon, nearly one year old, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Gordon, north of town, last Friday. The little one had been ill but five days from trouble of the stomach aggravated by teething. She leaves to mourn her taking away her parents, six brothers and three sisters. This is the first death to enter the home. The funeral services were held Saturday from the Adventist church, Elder Sutton of Denver, delivering a comforting sermon. To the grief-stricken family the Rattler joins their friends in extending condolence."

In 1930 Yuma County, Shedrick is farming, 53, Lillie M. 48, with Lola L. 18, Arthur L. 22, Guy M. 16, Larry M. 12, Hubert P. 9, and Eugene S. 7, all working on the farm.

In 1940 Yuma County, they have only Eugene.

"Shedrick Gordon was born June 5, 1874 near DeWitt, Saline Co., Nebr., and passed away at his home June 5, 1946 on his 72nd birthday. He was the youngest son of Sylvester and Christina Gordon. When a small boy, his parents moved to Edison, Nebr, later to the vicinity of Curtis and Stockville, and Cambridge, Nebr. On May 16, 1899 he was united in marriage to Lillie May Cline at Beaver City, Nebr. They moved to Wray in May, 1902. To this union 13 children were born, Amelia Clark, Miami, Fla., Eva Wilkins, Wray, Colo., Angie Vendetti, Florence, Colo., Winnie Dever, Kirk, Colo., Floyd of Calif., Arthur, Seattle, Wash.; Ruth Mclrvin, Stratton, Colo.; Lola Mclrvin, Sidney, Nebr.; Guy, Wray, Colo.; Laßoy, Byers, Colo.; Hubert, Sterling, Colo.; Eugene, Wray, Colo. Essie Junia preceded her father in death Sept. 8, 1916 in infancy. He was a kind and loving father and husband. He had no enemies, called his sons-in-law and daughters-in-law his children. His father was honorably discharged from the Civil War. He always had lived a clean and temperate life, was a member of the Seventh day Adventist church. The deceased leaves his widow, 12 children, 29 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends. One grandson and 1 great-grandson preceded him in death.. Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 7th, at 2 p. m. at | the Lockwood Mortuary. Rev. Cales officiated. Interment was in Grandview. The Rattler joins the many ; friends in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family."

"Mrs. Lillie Mae Gordon, former Wray resident who had lived at Brush for the past year, died at the Brush Community hospital early last Thursday morning, March 14, 1957.
Mrs. Gordon was born May 20, 1881, at Cambridge, Neb. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church at Wray.
Twelve children, six daughters and six sons, survive Mrs. Gordon. They are Amelia Clark, Miami, Fla., Eva Arnold, Mollalla, Ore.(mother of Grace (Wilkins) Brown), Angie Vendetti, Cripple Creek, Winnie Dever and Ruth McIrvin, both of Loveland, Lola Mclrvin, Sidney, Neb., Floyd Gordon, Woodland, Calif., Arthur Gordon, Seattle, Wash., Guy Gordon, Brush, LaRoy Gordon, Loveland, Herbert Gordon, Hudson, and Eugene Gordon, Fort Lupton."

AMELIA

June 1919 "Miss Amelia Gordon, who has been attending school at McCook, returned Tuesday to Wray. Miss Gordon expects to leave soon for Denver, where she has accepted a position as bookkeeper."

Ameila Gordon, of Omaha, Nebraska, 25, born at Cambridge, Nebraska to Shedrich Gordon and Lillie May Cline, nmarried Fred E. Clark, an electrician, 31, born in Republic County, Kansas on March 8, 1924 at Glenwood, Iowa.

EUGENE

"Eugene S. Gordon, 78, of Fort Lupton died Monday, March 26, 2001 in Brighton.He was born June 3, 1922, to Shedrick and Lilly Mae (Kline) Gordon in Wray, where he attended schools and graduated in 1940.On Feb. 27, 1951, he married Katherine Ryden in Greeley. She is deceased.Mr. Gordon had lived in the Fort Lupton area for 50 years. He also had lived in the Longmont and Keenesburg areas. He worked for Time-DC as a tire man from 1952 until his retirement in 1982.A member of Teamsters Union 961, Mr. Gordon also operated a farm east of Fort Lupton from 1954-59. During World War II, he was in the Army from October 1942 to December 1945. He also was in the Navy from August 1947 to June 1950. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, traveling and working with his hands. He dug the basement of his home in Fort Lupton by hand and auger.Survivors are two daughters, Connie A. Cross of Phoenix and Sandi Maize of Brighton; four sons, Jerry, Duane and Bruce, all of Fort Lupton, and Russell R. of Brighton; a brother, LeRoy of Douglas, Wyo.; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Five sisters and four brothers are deceased.Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Good News Community Church, 5511 W. 136th Ave., Broomfield."

WINNIE

May 1922 "Winnie Gordon, who has been helping with the housework at the Hazlett home, returned to her home Friday evening."

January 4, 1923 "Ernest Dover of Laird and Miss Winnie Gordon of Wray were united in marriage by Judge Barker Jan. 1."

Ernest W. Dever 1895-1977 and Winnie L. 1904-1996 # 33107314 are buried in Platteville, Colorado.

ZELLA RUTH

Zella Ruth McIrvin of Longmont died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Peaks Care Center in Longmont. She was 90.
The daughter of Shedrick Gordon and Lillie May Cline Gordon, she was born Sept. 13, 1909, in Wray. She married Delbert C. McIrvin on May 16, 1929, in Wray. He died in 1956.
She was a homemaker and farmed and ranched with her husband beginning in the early 1940s, where she was a cook for the ranch hands, milked cows and worked in the fields or wherever she was needed. She was also a cook and waitress at cafes in the area. Later, she was a nurse's aide for 18 years.
She made her own clothing patterns for her children, made her own soap and sauerkraut, raised chickens for food and used their feathers for bedding. She served as treasurer for her children's country schools and was active in the PTA.
She enjoyed family gatherings, crocheting, embroidering and beading calendars. She liked going for rides in the mountains, especially to Estes Park to hear elk bugle in the fall.
She was a Seventh-day Adventist.
Mrs. McIrvin moved to Longmont from Berthoud in 1976.
Survivors include three daughters, Martha N. Baxter of Phoenix, Zella D. Tivnan of Las Vegas and Laura J. Carroll of Longmont; a son, Donald C. McIrvin of Ault; two brothers, LeRoy Gordon of Wyoming and Eugene Gordon of Fort Lupton; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lona I Schreiner; four brothers; and six sisters.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ahlberg Funeral Home, 326 Terry St., Longmont. The Rev. Robert Craft will officiate.
Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.

HUBERT

Hubert Paul Gordon was born May 19, 1920 in Wray, dying June 28, 1998.
He married Wauneta Merle Carlock, 18, on May 18, 1939 in Yuma County.

Wauneta M. Gordon 1920-1975 is buried in Wray # 81621260.

Wauneta was in Yuma County in 1930, age 9, with William I. 38 and Rita M. 26. Agnes is 5, Geralding 4, Rita 1, Waunita 9, Willa J. newborn, and John J. Carlock 72.

William I. Carlock 1892-1975 is buried in Fort Logan, with Rita M. Carlock 1904-1989>

LOLA

In 1940 Wray, Lola is 28, married eight years to Perry W. McIrvin, a truck driver, 36 born in Kansas. Lyle S. is 6, Wanda IP. 5, both born in COlorado.

Lola Lillie (Gordon) McIrvin 1911-1970 is buried in Sidney, Nebraska # 99366099, with Perry W. 1905-1978.

GUY

Guy M. Gordon, and Velma R. Speicher, both of Wray, married in Wray on May 2, 1936. Velma was 17, so her father V.E. Speicher wrote his permission for her to marry.

They're on 9th Street in Wray in 1940, where Guy is a road grader, 26. Velma R. is 21, Norman D. 3, all three born in Colorado.

Guy is buried in Wray 1913-1993, with Velma 1918-2003.

"Velma R. Gordon, 84, of Brush, died April 10, 2003 at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. A family graveside service was held at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray on April 14.
Mrs. Gordon was born October 7, 1918 in Wray to Virgil and Gladys Speicher. On May 2, 1936, she married Guy M. Gordon. The family moved to Brush in 1949 where she worked at the Ben Franklin store for 10 years, and with the Girl Scouts for several years. Gordon dedicated her life to taking care of her family.
Survivors include daughter - Sandra (Dave) Bigg of Sterling; sons - Norman of Broomfield and Glade of Brush; brother - Cecil Speicher of Pasadena, CA; 4 grandsons and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter and her parents.
The Heer Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements. "
"Norman D. Gordon, 78, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, at his home near Brush. He was born October 29, 1936, in Wray, CO, to Guy M. and Velma Gordon. Following graduation from high school, Norm joined the US Navy on February 28, 1955. After his honorable discharge in October 1959, Norm moved back to Colorado. Prior to retirement he was a boiler operator at Rocky Flats. Norm always enjoyed tinkering with things. Survivors include his children Sam, Rick and Ron; 1 sister, Sandy Bigg of Sterling, CO, 1 brother, Glade Gordon of Brush; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and 2 great – great grandsons. At Norm’s request, no formal service will be held. Inurnment will be in the family cemetery lot at the Grandview Cemetery in Wray, CO. The Heer Mortuaries & Crematory was entrusted with the cremation arrangements. "

LEROY

Leroy, 19, married Velma Belle Thomas, 18, on August 7, 1937 in Wray.

In 1940 Weld County, Colorado, Laroy is a farm worker, 22, with Velma 21, and Lavella M. nine months. All three were born in Colorado.

Per one post, Laroy Marvin Gordon, born August 13, 1917, died February 26, 2007 in Douglas, Wyoming.

Velma 1918-2012 died in Casper, Wyoming.
" No funeral services for Velma Belle Gordon, 94, will be held per her request.
Velma Gordon died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper, Wyoming.
She was born June 21, 1918 to Albert Clarence and Gladys Irene (Burton) Thomas in Wray, Colorado.
She was married to LaRoy Marvin Gordon on August 7, 1937.
Velma worked for a number of years as a nurse's aide at the Converse County Hospital in Douglas and as a school crossing guard for Converse County School District #1. She was member of TOPS for 35 years and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her two children, LaVella (David) Squires of Neenah, Wisconsin and Roy T. (Jan) Gordon of Douglas, Wyoming; sister, Violet Carriker of North Port, Oregon; seven grandchildren, Carl Squires and Dennis Squires both of Wisconsin, Jacki Bonham and Dorothy Jean Callen both of California, Cheryl Lasher of Denver, Colorado, Rob Mitchell of Laramie, Wyoming, and Debbie Kornegay of Glendo, Wyoming; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Roy, of 69 years on February 26, 2007; and siblings, Robert, Ivan, Mildred, and Mary; grandson, Bradley Squires; and great grandson, Jeremiah Bonham. "

"David L. Squires was born on Christmas Day, 1939 to Carl R Squires and Della M. (Beaudoin) Squires in Neenah, WI. He attended Lakeview School and went to what was Shattuck High, now a middle school. After high school he enlisted and decided to travel a bit before returning to his beloved state of Wisconsin. While working in Greeley, CO, he was introduced to his soon to be wife, Lavella Gordon, by her girlfriend in October 1959. They married January 22, 1960.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Lavella; two sons: Carl (Sally) of New Holstein; and Dennis (fiancee Amy) of Oshkosh; as well as by Kevin (Amber) Ostereol of Neenah, who has been like a son. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Karyn, Colorado Springs, CO; Erica, Sheboygan; Justin and Tori, New Holstein; Ava, Myla and Declan Ostereo, Neenah; great-grandchildren: Cadyn, Anthony, and Haley of Colorado Springs, CO. "

EVA

Winfield Wilkins married Eva B. Gordon on July 3, 1920 in Yuma County.
Eva (Gordon) (Wilkins) Strohm is buried in Wray, Winfield in Fort Logan Cemetery.


ANGIE

July 5, 1923 "Nick Vendetta of Florence, Colo., and Miss Angle Gordon of Wray were united in marriage by Judge I. L. Barker on Wednesday of last week."

Angie A. Vendetti 1903-1976 is buried in Platteville, Colorado # 33195845, with Nieck 1897-1980.
March 1, 1976 "Mrs. Angie A. Vendetti, 72, 905 Main, Hudson, died Friday, Feb. 27, at Brighton Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 23, 1903, at Wray where she attended school and was married to Nick Vendetti June 27, 1923. They moved to Florence where they farmed and to Cripple Creek in 1934. They later went to Seattle, Wash., where he worked in a defense plant, returning to Cripple Creek in 1946. They moved to Hudson in 1970.
She is survived by her husband, Nick; five brothers, Arthur Gordon of Redman, Ore., Guy Gordon of Brush, LeRoy Gordon of Douglas, Wyo, Eugene Gordon of Fort Lupton and Hubert Gordon of Hudson, and four sisters, Mrs. Amelia Clark of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Winnie Dever of Plattevllle, Mrs. Eva Strohm of Molalla, Ore., and Mrs. Ruth McIrvin of Hygiene, Colo. Services 2 p.m. Tuesday, Schmanski Vetter Chapel. Interment Mizpah Cemetery."

ARTHUR

Arthur Lee Grodon, born at Wray, COlorado, married Sadie Bland of Everett Washington, on August 6, 1953 in King County, Washington.

Arthur Lee Gordon 1907-1995 is buried in Redmond, Oregon # 30989639.

FLOYD

Floyd registered for WWII in Wray, working for George G. Walter. His reference was Shedrick Gordon of Wray.

Floyd Gordon, born March 21, 1906 in Colorado, died January 6, 1957 in Sacramento County, California.
