September 16, 1915
A very quiet but beautiful home wedding occurred yesterday at noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Ridlen, seven miles northeast of Laird, when their daughter, Miss Violetta Maria, became the bride of Mr. William Thomson Rosenkrans. The ceremony, which was the impressive ring service was read by Rev. A. N. Wolff, pastor of the Wray Presbyterian church, in the presence of the immediate relatives and friends of the contracting parties.
Following the ceremony and the congratulations, a very dainty three course luncheon was served by the Misses Hoggs and Wittmeyer, two close friends of the bride. The home was beautifully decorated with red and white carnations and ferns, the gift of the groom, and also white sweet peas, the gift of Chapter AA, E. E. O., of which the bride is a member.
The bride was daintily and beautifully gowned in white and carried a shower bouquet of pale pink rosebuds, which was also the gift of the groom. The ...were dark blue.
Mrs. Rosenkrans is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ridlen and needs no introduction to the people of Yuma county, as she has been a general favorite ever since she first began teaching in Yuma county. She was a valued teacher in the public school in Wray for several years, and for two years filled very ably the office of County Superintendent of schools of this county. She is an energetic and capable young lady and possesses the happy faculty of making friends wherever she goes.
Mr. Ronsenkrans is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Rosenkrans of the Willow Creek ranch, several miles southeast of Wray, and like his bride, needs no introduction. He has grown to manhood in this county, and is an ambitious young man, well worthy the bride he has won. He is interested with his father in the large sheep ranch south of Laird.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Rosenkrans enjoy the friendship of a large circle of friends with whom we join in extending heartiest congratnlatons to this happy couple.
They were the recipients of many beautiful and useful gifts. They went at once to their home at Willow Creek Ranch, where they will be at home to their friends after October 15th."
