Edna Ridlen in 1900 Benton County, Indiana, born January 1890. George Ridlen is 48, Julia B. 40, VIoletta M. 17, Orpha L. 16, and Kenneth 4.


CHARLES' FAMILY

In 1900 Cloud County, Kansas, John Bourne is farming, 57, born in New York, married 26 years to Mary 44 Illinois. Arthur N. is 22, Edwin G. 16, Charles D. Nov 1885, and Jessie M. 7.

August 13, 1909 Wray Rattler "Charles D. Bourne and Miss Edna F. Ridlen, of Laird, were united in marriage at the M. E. parsonage Wednesday by Rev. McCulloch."



In 1910 Yuma County, Charles is 24, born in Kansas, both parents born in Illinois, with Edna 20 Indiana.

September 19, 1912 "Jesse Shay, Wm. Skinner and C. D. Bourne, from north of Laird, made proof and witnessed for each other."

Charles proved up 320 acres in section 4, 2N 42W in 1916
In 1920, Charles and Edna are in the Cloud County, Kansas census, farming.
Edna 9, Robert 8 were born in Colorado, Eva 6, Melvin 4, and Roland 2 in Kansas.


1923 "D. W. Pilkington and family and Mildred Wagner were Sunday visitors at the home of Chas. Bourne."

In 1930 Thayer County, Nebraska, Charles is a laborer on the railroad, 44, Edna F. 40, Robert 18, Melvin 14, and Rolland 13.

In 1940 Hardy, Nebraska, Charles is a drayman, alone with Edna. They were in COncordia, Kansas in 1935.

Charles Daniel Bourne 1885-1977 is buried in Nuckolls County, Nebraska # 28723667, with Edna F. Bourne 1890-1950 # 28723624.
His second wife Maria Jane - she was widowed twice is also buried there 1885-1961 # 28723576.

EDNA

In 1930 Edna is in Jewell County, Kansas, 19, married to Claud Bucknell 27. They have newborn Charles Bucknell

In 1940 Hastings, Nebraska, Edna is 29, now married to William Feldhausen 39 a railroad laborer. Charles Bucknell is 10, Thomas 7, both born in Kansas.

"Hastings resident, Charles 'Buck' R. Bucknell, 81, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Monday, November 15, 2010; 1:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Charles was born October 3, 1929 in Jewell County, Kansas to Claude & Edna (Bourne) Bucknell. He moved with his family as a young boy to Hardy, Nebraska; Lawrence, Nebraska; and then to Hastings, Nebraska where he graduated from Hastings High School in 1948. His parents divorced and he was raised by his step-father Bill Feldhausen. Charles was in the Nebraska National Guard for eight years. On February 20, 1949 he married Dorla M. Reiber. He worked for the Naval Ammunition Depot, Roberts Dairy, and also drove truck delivering beer. He was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joshua Lintz; and brother, Tom Bucknell. "
