April 25, 1906 Telluride "Rev. W. C. Cronk went down to Wilson
station this morning, and from there went by wagon up on the mesa to
officiate at the funeral of 'Dad' Poplin, a well known rancher."
"Mrs. J. G. Poplin, wife of the well known Mt. Wilson ranchman,
died at her home on the mesa last Sunday. She was over 70 years of age,
and mother of a large family of grown sons and daughters.
The funeral was held Tuesday on the mesa, Rev. W. C. Cronk of this
place conducting the service."
