"It was said that Mahala Jane (McGinnis) and William died within a week of each other from bad milk fever."

His brotherJohn and sister Nancy also had moved to Yuma County.

MAGGIE'S FAMILY

Isaiah Gibson Seney was born at Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, August 24, 1857, son of Benjamin and Sarah Seney. He came to the United States in 1874 and was married to Eyer E. Haiman on November 27, 1878. Mrs. Seney died August 3, 1917, at Wibaux, Montana. To Mr. and Mrs. Seney eight children were born, four of whom survive, Mrs. D. H. Donovan of Wray, Mrs. B. S. Anderson of Dawson, Minn., Mrs. Marie Wagnor of Berkeley, Calif., and D. H. Seney of Albany, Ore., together with nineteen grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and four great greatgrandchildren. Three daughters and one son preceded their father in death. Mr. Seney had four sisters and two brothers, all of whom have died. At an early age Mr. Seney took up music as his life work and taught singing lessons and was a band leader of several bands, one at Little Rock, La., and others in South Dakota. He became a member of the Methodist church early in life and retained that faith until the end. He was always a great leader in the church and was Sunday School superintendent, chorister, and many times filled the pulpit when the pastor was absent, and also attended at funerals. Mr. Seney lived in lowa, where he took up his residence when he came from Canada, and farmed many years. In 1901 he came to South Dakota and resided there for nine years, then moved to Montana in 1910 and lived there until 1930 when he came back to South Dakota. Hi s daughter, Mrs. Donovan, brought him to Colorado on June 29, 1949, and he lived at Wray until his death on October 27, 1949, at the age of 92 years, 2 months and 3 days. He was a kind and loving husband and' father and was held in esteem by all who knew him. The deceased had farmed in lowa, South Dakota and Montana until his age compelled him to cease such activities. The body of Mr. Seney was shipped from Wray to Clear Lake, S. D. Mrs. Donovan, her granddaughter, Charlotte Anderson, Mrs. Wagrnor, Roy Donovan and son Elmer, went from here to Clear Lake to be at the funeral services held on Tuesday, November 1."

July 1, 1948
"D. H. Donovan, a prominent retired farmer and long-time resident of this community, died Monday at the Community hospital following a brief illness. He was stricken Friday with a heart condition and was removed to the hospital Saturday. His condition had not been considered serious and his death was a shock to the community.
Mr. Donovan had won a wide reputation as a successful farmer and business man. He had resided in this community for forty years, on a farm southwest of Wray and for the past five years in Wray.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church with Rev. K. Orlando Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview cemetery.
David Harrison Donovan, son of William and Mahola Jane Donovan, was born at Lincoln, Logan county, Illinois, on March 15, 1871. He died June 28 at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 13 days.
He was orphaned at the age of 8 years and spent his boyhood at York, Nebraska. On November 30, 1899, he was married to Maggie Seney and the couple came to Colorado in 1906, living at Burlington for two years and then moving to the farm near Wray in 1908.
The couple are the parents of seven children, all of whom with the mother survive. The children are Mrs. Gladys Devlin of Albany, Ore., David Donovan, Jr., of San Antonio, Texas, Clarence and Roy, both of Wray, Mrs. Edna Gilliette of Vernon, Mrs. Wava KcKinney of Armel, and Mrs. Lillie Anderson of Sidney, Nebraska. There are several grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death."

April 25, 1957 "Mrs. David Donovan, a long time resident of this community, was found dead at her home yesterday forenoon by a mail carrier who was delivering a package. She had been dead for several hours, death having followed a heart attack. Maggie Donovan was bom. November 14, 1881, in lowa. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Seney. She attended lowa schools and taught school for two years in that state before she was married to David H. Donovan at Emmetoburg, lowa, on Nov. 30, 1899. The couple lived in lowa and Minnesota for several years and then came to Burlington, Colo., where they homesteaded. In 1908, they moved to a farm near Wray, and in 1909 they moved to the place southwest of Wray which was their home until they moved into Wray in 1945. Mr. Donovan died on June 28, 1948. Seven children were bom to Mr. and Mrs. Donovan. They were Gladys E. Devlin of Albany, Ore., David H. of San Antonio, Texas, Clarence E. and Roy of Wray, Edna G. Gillett of Vernon, Wava C. McKinney of Armel, and Lillie E. Anderson of Denver. Besides the children, survivors include 27 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She was an active member of the Wray Methodist church. The funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Wray Saturday, April 27, *at 2 o’clock, followed by interment at Grandview cemetery. The Rev. James C. Keesey will officiate at the services."
