JAMES

May 1916 "J. E. Stinson returned from an eastern trip today, having spent quite a while in Missouri cities, and especially Edina. Mr. Stinson says Missouri in itself is all O. K., but the rains of the past two years have played havoc with the people. Business men are dreary, and if sales could be made, Logan county would have numbers of them here. Also other parts of the state have had their troubles, and only places where large manufacturing is up and down.
Mr. Stinson looks for a number of eastern people this summer here. As to politics, Stinson says it is Wilson and Teddy this year, from all he hears. In all, Stinson likes his home state, but, oh my, the change. Mr. Stinson says he called on one attorney, and after looking around, learned that the office rent was $4 a month and then the justice of the peace held sway there also. Stinson says how good it feels to live in Logan county and Sterling."
