Payne, pastor of the Sterling Baptist church, with interment in the Sterling cemetery. Mrs. Squier died Saturday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock from the inflrmities of old age."
"Mrs. Jennie Squiers, mother of Archie Squiers and Mrs. W. C. Grater, died at her home on February 7th from the inflrmatives of old age. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the home. Mr. Squiers, the deceased*s husband, died last August. Mrs. Grater was quarantined at the time of her mother's death with h»r niece, Jennie Squiers, who was ill with diphtheria. The sympathy of the communlty goes out to the sorrowing ones."

December 14, 1922 "William Shear, 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Shear, who live twenty miles northwest of Sterling, was killed Sunday afternoon at o'clock when thrown from a horse, near the place of Clarence McGee, thirty miles southeast of Sterling. The boy was employed by Mr. McGee while attending school. He and other boys were riding horses in a group, when the bridle of the horse ridden by Shear broke. The boy was thrown, lighting on his head. The skull was fractured, causing almost instant death. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Jackson undertaking parlors."

Graveside services for Catherine Mae Shear Davis and Mabry Leland Davis, both of Holyoke were conducted recently at Holyoke Memorial Park, Pastor Martin Waite officiating. Burial followed the services.
Mrs. Davis was born January 18, 1913 at Atwood. Mr. Davis was born February 1, 1918 at New Ramer. The couple were married July 16, 1950 at Imperial, NE, and then moved to Holyoke. Mrs. Davis worked for the Holyoke Police Department for many years as information officer until retiring. Mr. Davis recently retired from the Bradley Body Shop, where he had been employed for many years.
Both were members of the Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbors of America, Civil Air Patrol, and the American Association of Retire Persons. Mrs. Davis was also a member of the Sunshine Club.
They are survived by a son, Lewis Conley of California; two daughters, Mae Rasmussen of Holyoke and Mabra Dawn Buckner of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Davis is also survived by three sisters and two brothers. Mr. Davis is also survived by a sister and a brother."
