Force, at their Capitol Hill ranch, 6 miles northwest of Merino, Thursday evening, October 8, 1908 when their only daughter, Miss Anna Isabelle, was united in marriage to Mr. Harry C. McLane, Rev. William M. Force, pastor of the First United Evangelical church, of Marshalltown, Iowa, speaking the words uniting their destinies in one. Only the immediate relatives of the bride were present. The officiating clergyman being a brother of Mr. Arthur H. Force.
The bride is a young lady of many noble characteristics and charming manners, and is well and favorably known in the southwest section of the county. The groom, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. McLane, of Beardstown, I11., is a young man of many generous qualities and excellent habits, and is quite well known in Sterling and vicinity. The bride has a claim 5 miles north west of Merino, where the young couple are at home to their many friends. The well-wishes of a host of friends goes with them as they commence life's journey together. The bride and groom were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents. "

S Census for that district. He is now county clerk of Custer county, Nebraska. "

October 1929 "Rev. Wm. A. Force and wife of Idalia are quite seriously injured as a result of an automobile accident, which they had just east of Benkelman last Friday night. Rev. Force was driving his new Essex and ran into a truck that was running without lights. The car was badly damaged. Mrs. Force suffered severe cuts about the head and serious internal injuries. Mr. Force also was quite badly injured. The Force's spent the night in Benkelman and came on to Wray Saturday. Saturday night, they stayed in Wray with Mr. and Mrs. M. E. White, going on to their home Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. Force were returning from a visit with a daughter at Omaha."

"We have very little information about the Woehler brothers. They owned a hardware store in Zearing during the early 1900's. Ed served on the town council.
The Woehler brothers came to Zearing from St. Peter, Minnesota. Ed and his wife, Christine, and his brother, John, came together. John married Ella Force while living in Zearing. She was the daughter of Rev. Force.
When they sold the store, Ed and Christine returned to Minnesota. John and Ella moved to Greeley, Colorado.

She was born June 21, 1912 to John and Roberta Woehler in Greeley., where she spent her childhood and graduated from high school. She attended Principia University in St. Louis.
She married James W. Green in 1957. He is deceased.
Mrs. Green was a member of the Church of God in Greeley and Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed sewing and playing poker.
Survivors incude two daughters, Nancy Watkins of Fruita and Tomilee Bliss of Greeley; a sister Roberta Green of Greeley, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A grandson, Steven Passage, is deceased."

August 10, 1945 "Miss Ardath Evans, daughter of Mrs. E. Claude Evans of Sterling, Colo., became the bride of Max Lucien Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Thatcher Pierce, also of Sterling, in a candlelight ceremony Sunday, August 5, at five o'clock in the home of the aunt and uncle of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Force in Greeley, Colo. The double ring service was read by Rev. Joseph Cleveland, pastor of the Congregational church of Greeley. Mrs. Stephen Force played the traditional wedding marches and incidental music. The bride chose for her wedding gown a floor length dress of pink silk chiffon with long sleeves, fitted, tucked bodice and full skirt. She wore a coronet formed of pink roses. She carried a white Bible from which there were ribbon streamers tied with stephanotis. The young couple’s attendants were two small children, Dee Anne Koehler and Stephen John Force, who carried the wedding rings. Little Dee Anne wore a long turquoise gown of net in combination with taffeta. The mothers of the bride and bridegroom wore a teal blue formal and black gown with fuchia accessories respectively. Their corsages were of gladioli. A wedding supper was served at the Force home to intimate friends and members of the families, after which the young couple came to Estes Park to spend their honeymoon in the summer home 'Tree Top' of W. W. Force, uncle of the bride.
The bride received her education in the schools of Sterling, after which she was graduated from Colorado State College of Education in Greeley. She was a member of the honorary society, Pi Kappa Delta. The bridegroom also attended the schools of Sterling and the Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, where he was a member of Phi Delta Pi. Mr. Pierce has recently received his honorable discharge from the army, after spending one year in overseas service. He was wounded at St. Herbert, France, September 16 of last year.
Mr. and Mrs. Pierce will make their home in Jacksonville, Fla., where Mrs. Pierce is a teacher in the Duncan U. Fletcher high school. "

POSSIBLY July 1948 "Richard L. Evans, 34, of 5401 North Federal, pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter and careless driving, in District Court at Brighton Saturday. Charges were filed against Evans last week by the District Attorney's office as the result of a traffic accident at 58th and Federal at 7:45 A.M. Monday, July 12, in which Susan Pross, six months old, met her death. Evans allegedly made n left turn in front of a car driven hy Mrs. Nancy Proas. 25, of Broomfield. Mrs. Pross was going south. The impact threw the Evans car hack into the filling station on the left side of the highway. The baby suffered a fractured skull and died four hours later. Mrs. Pross suffered a broken leg, deep leg lacerations and bruises. Evans suffered a back injury. The case was continued to the December term of Court, due to the exceptionally crowded docket prevailing at this time."

Tebbens, Berkeley, Calif. Mrs. Ruth Bowers, Chicago, Mrs. Ellinor C. Evans, Wheat Ridge, and Mrs. Elizabeth C. Scanlan, Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren."

Graduated from Grlnnell College in Iowa in 1932; loved interaction with people and traveled extensively. No funeral services will be held."

" Ruth C. Bowen, age 89, of Chicago, died June 7, 2001, following a brief illness. Born Ruth Helen Collette in DeKalb, IL., to Ernest and Maude Merrl-man Collette, she worked many years as registered nurse for the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago and in retirement as a hospital and hospice volunteer.
Predeceased by Merlin S. Bowen, she was his loving wife for 58 years and his tireless caregiver for 10; sister of Esther Tebbens, Eleanor Evans, and Beth Scanlan; mother of John and Jeff; mother-in-law of Sherry and Georgia; devoted grandmother of Sean and Josh; she will remain In the hearts and memories of family, friends, and the many patients whose lives she touched. Services will be private."
