Sunday morning at the age of 56 years. Her death was caused by tuberclosis.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the Christian church at 2:80,
Rev. W. H. Williams conducting the services. "

October 1908 "Rev. William M. Force, who had been visiting his children at Greeley
and with his brother's family near Merino, where on last Thursday he officiated at the
marriage of his niece, Miss Anna Isabelle, and Mr. Harry C. McLane,
was a pleasant caller at this office while in sterling Monday."
October 14, 1908 "A very pretty, though quiet,
wedding was celebrated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur H.
Force, at their Capitol Hill ranch, 6 miles northwest of
Merino, Thursday evening, October 8, 1908 when their only
daughter, Miss Anna Isabelle, was united in marriage to
Mr. Harry C. McLane, Rev. William M. Force, pastor of the
First United Evangelical church, of Marshalltown, Iowa,
speaking the words uniting their destinies in one.
Only the immediate relatives of the bride were present.
The offitiating clergyman being a brother of
Mr. Arthur H. Force.
The bride is a young lady of many noble characteristics
and charming manners, and is well and favorably known in the
southwest section of the county. The groom, a son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. McLane, of Beardstown, I11.,
is a young man of many generous qualities and excellent
habits, and is quite well known in Sterling and vicinity.
The bride has a claim 5 miles north west of Merino,
where the young couple are at home to their many friends.
The well-wishes of a host of friends goes with them as
they commence life's journey together. The bride and
groom were the recipients of many beautiful and useful
presents. "

"Harriett M. Kaiser, 85, of Merino, died June 7, 1996, in Sterling.
Visitation and viewing is today at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. The funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Chaney-Walters with the Rev. Marge Good officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Kaiser was born Sept. 30, 1910, to Harry and Anna (Force) McLane on a homestead between Merino and Willard.
She lived in Logan County all her life. She attended grade school at Capitol Hill School near her home and graduated from Merino High School in 1929.
She attended business school in Sterling and worked at Merino State Bank until it consolidated with Security State Bank of Sterling.
She married Alvin Kaiser April 6, 1930 in the Merino Methodist Church. The service was at 7 in the morning.
Mrs. Kaiser was a member of the United Methodist Church for more than 70 years. She taught Sunday school for 40 years and was in charge of the church's Memorial Fund for 30 years. She was a 50-year charter member of the Merino Town and Country Club, a civic group that maintained the town's park and public library.
She is survived by her husband Alvin of Merino; a son, Stanley and wife Illene of Merino; a sister, Agnes Weatherill of Fort Collins; three grandchildren, David Kaiser of Santa Barbara, Calif., Craig Kaiser and wife Donna of Broom field, and Shawna Hert and hus band Shawn of Merino; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews."

"Alvin E. Kaiser, 88, of Merino, died May 4, 1997, in Sterling.
Visitation and viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chaney Walters Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chaney-Walters with Rev. Henry Schott offi ciating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, with graveside services performed by the I.O.O.F. Sterling Lodge No. 69.
Memorials may be made to the Alvin E. Kaiser Memorial Fund.
Mr. Kaiser was born Sept. 24, 1908, to Charles and Marie (Magerfleisch) Kaiser in Arriba. The family moved to Merino when he was young. He graduated from high school there in 1924.
He married Harriett McLane on April 6, 1930, in Merino. He owned and operated Kaiser Auto in Merino with his father and later was the sole owner of the business. He sold it in 1948, and then worked as an oil and gas broker. He was a member of the Merino Methodist Church, served on the Merino Town Board for many years as a councilman and mayor, was a member of the Sterling Rural Fire Board and a life member of the Sterling B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 1336 and the Sterling I.O.O.F. No. 69.
He is survived by a son Stanley and wife Illene of Merino; three grandchildren, Dave Kaiser of Phoenix, Ariz., Craig Kaiser and wife Donna of Broomfield and Shawna Hert and husband Shawn of Yuma, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on June 7, 1996,a brother and a sister."

"Agnes Weatherill, 90, of Alton, Ill., and formerly of Merino, died Jan. 30, 2004,
in Alton. Memorial services are Saturday, May 1 at 10 am. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.
Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Weatherill was born July 28, 1913, on the family homestead northwest of Merino
to Harry C. and Anna I. (Force) McLane. She lived in Merino until 1949,
when she moved with her family to Fort Collins. She married Kenneth H. Weatherill on
Jan. 13, 1933. They later divorced. In June 2001 she moved to Alton to live with her
daughter. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother,
who always put her family first. She was an accomplished seamstress for many years,
and enjoyed crafts, sewing, needle point and woodcraft. She was a member of the First
United Methodist Church in Fort Collins.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by son Lane Weatherill and wife Joyce,
of Fort Morgan; daughters Janice Lingard and husband Robert, of Topeka, Kan.,
Donna Flood and husband Bryce, of Denver, Sue Thornton and husband Curt, of Napa, Calif.,
and Anne Doucleff, of Alton; grandsons Bryan Weatherill, Steve Lingard, Kris Doucleff,
Troy Woolhether, Karl Doucleff Jr. and Mickey Wóolhether; granddaughters Peggy Lingard,
Karen Bledsoe, Bailey Russel, Wendy Thornton, Suzy Pomaranski, Valerie Tosh and
Stacey Butcher; 24 great-grandchildren; nephew Stan Kaiser; and other extended family
and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Nancy
Woolhether; sister Harriett Kaiser and former husband Kenneth Weatherill."
