His first marriage was to May Diffendarfer. They had 2 daughters, Ouita and Thelma. Mary was the daughter of Samuel Diffendarfer (Memorial # 57990221) and Sarah Heffelfinger (Memorial #57990242) His second marriage was to Ida Susan Morietta Small Murphy on August 18, 1927 in Clayton, Union, NM. They were early sweethearts, but through fate they married other partners. He is survived by 2 daughters: Mrs. Ouita (R.B.) Bissett and Mrs. Thelma (H.P.) Davis, both of Los Angeles, CA; and his sister, Mrs. Eleanor Huckins, Lincoln, NB. ."

Jacob, serving in G, 2nd Iowa Cavalry, died May 1, 1896, per his headstone application of November 1930.

February 1918 "Miss Flora Dalgleish was married this afternoon at the Presbyterian parsonage in Denver to Norman Litch of Camp Funston. Mr. Litch obtained a leave of absence from Camp Funston and he and Mrs. Litch will arrive in Sterling for a brief visit until Friday evening. The wedding was attended by Misses Jeannie and Lorraine Dalgleish of Sterling, sisters of the bride, and an aunt, Miss McDonald, of Boulder. Both of these young people are well known in Sterling, having lived here for many years.
Miss Dalgleish was for some time employed at the Mentgen Mercantile store, and Mr. Litch, previous to the time of his enlistment was in the automobile business here and a member of the fire department of Sterling. This position he now holds at Camp Funston and it is probable that he will be stationed there for some time.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Litch have innumerable friends in Sterling who join in their happiness. Miss Dalgleish is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Dalgleish of 207 South Second street, Sterling."

Miss May Diffendarfer wanted cube root explained by the block method. Miss Mattie Shannon explained this method very well, considering there were no blocks to help her out."

The study of grammar was continued Wednesday afternoon, Miss Diffendarfer conducting the class."

Frank married Elizabeth L. Brand in Uinta County in 1900.
She was the daughter of John L. Isherwood and Polly Wenben, born in Butler, Indiana on March 1, 1864, dying in Pershing County Nevada

1908 Twin Falls, Idaho "In the spring of 1908 the Twin Falls Shoshone Land & Water Co. was organized with J. D. Landis as president, F. L. Diffendarfer as vice president, and F. R. Landis as secretary."

In 1910 Twin Falls, Idaho, Frank has a truck farm, 33, married 8 years to Abbie 46 both born in Indiana. She's not had any childeren. Mabel 22, John 25, and Edward 31 were born in Iowa, Sarah 21 and Ethyl 16 in Colorado. Niece Ava McMann is 18, born in Idaho.

December 1915 Twin Falls "Miss Sadie Diffendarfer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Diffendarfer, was married to Mr. George Capley, of Ifnray, Nevada, in Lovelock, Nevada, Thanksgiving night. Mr. and Mrs. Capley will live in Imray."

In 1920 Imlay, Nevada, "Sarah" D. is 30, married to George M. Copley 43 born in Kansas. Sarah's sister Mabel Diffendarfer 33 born in Iowa is with them, and so is H.E. Blake 41 born in Missouri.

Sarah born January 15, 1889, died October 19, 1974 in Sacramento County.

Elsie Pearl Mann, born July 6, 1890 at Sterling to Frank Diffendarfer and Ella Isherwood, died May 11, 1972 in Sacramento County.

" Services for Mrs. Ethel U. Denman, 73, 300 Mobley Drive, who died Saturday March 1967. at a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Summers Chapel by the Rev. Meredith R. Groves of the First Methodist Cathedral of the Rockies. Interment will follow at the Cloverdale Memorial Park. Contributions to the American Cancer Society are suggested.
Born March 2, 1894, in Sterling, Colo., she came with her parents to Twin Falls and Shoshone area in 1905 and grew up there. On July 24, 1919, she was married in Imlay, Nev. to George E. Denman. They lived in Pocatello, Filer and Burley and moved in 1944 to Boise, where Mr. Denman retired as a prominent educator after nearly 50 years of service. Mrs. Denman was a member of the First Methodist Cathedral, Chapter A of the PEO Sisterhood, the Columbian Club, the Women's Society of Christian Service of her church and the Circle Deborah.
Surviving are her husband, George E. Denman, Boise; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Sheehy of Weiser and Mrs. Jean Bradish of Boise; a son, George Denman, Jr., Spokane, Wash.; and three sisters, Mrs. George Copley and Mrs. Ralph Mann, both of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Jennie Isherwood of Evanston, Wyo.
Active pallbearers will be Ross Barney, M.W. McLaughlin, Sam Glen, Ralph Edwards, F.O. Jevons and William R. Swenson.
Honorary pallbearers are C.V. Parks, Emory Afton, Dale Rustay, Kenneth Slusser, Delmer Engelking, Harold Farley, William Roper Sr., Bryan Capiel, George Cochnour, Henry Van Englen, Alton B. Jones, Nathan Alexander, Dr. Mark Smith and Lloyd Eason."

September 1915 Twin Falls, Idaho "Miss Elsie Diffendarfer left Monday evening for Evanston, Wyoming, where she will spend the winter with her sister."

In October 1889, T. A. Long was appointed secretary pro tem of the Logan County Sunday School Convention.

S. Diffendarfer was on the committee to select three vice presidents and recommend a county secretary to the state board.

The Fyffe school in southeast Logan County " sod school house was built in 1887. Classes began in January 1888. The first teacher was Toby A. Long, who received wages of $60 that month. He taught during the winter months and then May Diffendarfer, his relative taught during the warm, spring weather. Farmers and stockmen in the area build new homes in what is called "The Frenchman" tableland on the plains, finding that is was not easy to make a living in that part of Logan County. "
Although the years of 1891 and 1892 were good years, 1893 was a discouraging time for people everywhere. With taxes, drought, blizzards and debt, by 1894 nearly half of the families had moved away. Only a few children were left to attend the school.
