In 1870 Lorain County, Ohio, Zimri Gillette is farming, 68, born in Connecticut.
Cameron 15 is a farm laborer, Althea 19 a domestic servant, and Cameroretta is 15.

VIOLA'S FAMILY

In 1880 Iroquois County, Illinois, Robert Campbell is a merchant, 45, with Margaret 42. Seward is 18, Viola M. 14, and Robert's brother Millard is 38, clerking in the store.

Viola M. Campbell claimed forty acres in section 14, 8S 42 West in 1891.
Cameron A. Gillette, 38, and Viola M. Campbell, 26, married in Kit Carson County on April 14, 1892.

"Goodland, Kansas On last Thursday evening, April 14, 1892. Dr. Cameron A. Gillette was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Viola Campbell, daughter of Robert G. Campbell, Kit Carson county's popular clerk and recorder. The wedding took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, ten miles east of Burlington, Rev. J. M. Willis officiating. The wedding was a very quiet affair, only relatives and a few personal friends being present.
The groom is an old resident and successful practicing physician in Kit Carton county and has a host of friends who congratulate him upon his successful wooing. The bride is a popular and high-esteemed young lady who has resided with her parents in this county for the last five years. She will make a trusty and a good wife to the worthy gentleman who has united his destiny with hers. The Banner, together with the rest of the community extends best wishes to the happy couple and wishes them a pleasant and prosperous voyage across life's tempestuous ocean. And we go so far as to predict it since we know their deservingness. May heaven's choices blessings ever attend them, and may there be plenty of sunshine rand few clouds in their journey adown the stream of time. "

In 1900 Kit Carson County, Cameron, born August 1854 in Ohio, is married eight years to Viola M. April 1866 Indiana. Vola D. was born January 1888 in Nebraska. They have a servant, Manna M. Zick March 1879.

(Viola M. Campbell and James B. Jackson had married on July 18, 1886 in Boone County, Indiana, and James married Cora Hackrsmith in 1894, living in Indiana in 1900.)

Cameron claimed a quarter in section 33, 8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1902.

February 1910 "Mrs. Laura Rogers of Concordia, Kansas, is visiting at the home of Dr. and Mrs. C. A. Gillette."

March 1910 "Headquarters for drugs, medicines, paints, chemicals, toilet artides, books, stationery at Gillette's."

January 1911 "Mrs. C. A. Gillette of Burlington, Colo., spent several days with her daughter, Mrs. Archie Griswold. — Ramah Telegram"

February 1911

May 1912 "Mrs. Grace Clark of La Junta, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dr. C. A. Gillette, for the past few days, returned to her home Wednesday morning."

September 1911 "C. A. Gillette and family have moved from the Oxford rooms to their residence property." (The Oxford Hotel was in the Gillette Block.)

December 1911 Burlington " Notice - All those owing me on book account will please call at my office one block south of courthouse. Dr. C. A. Gillette."

September 1912

October 1912 "Mrs. Vola Lunsford returned to Cripple Creek Monday, after a few days visit with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Gillette."

November 1912 "Mrs. R. E. Gillette and Mr. and Mrs. Peterman and little daughter of Oberlin, Ohio visited Tuesday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. C. A. Gillette. Mrs. Gillette is a sister-in-law of the Doctor whom he had not seen for 25 years. The party were on their way to Los Angeles, California to spend the winter."
(Ransom Gillette's daughter Sarah married D. Warren Peterman and is buried in Lorain County 1870-1944 # 50521393.)

Cameron is a doctor in 1930 Burlington, 75, with Viola 63. Her brother Seward Campbell 69 born in Indiana is with them.
Vola Gillette is divorced, 40, with her son Ira 22.

In 1940 Salida, Colorado, Viola Gillete is 73, Seward Campbell 79 Brother.

In 1950 Burlington, Rosetta Branneier is 67, Viola M. Gillette 84 Lodger, widowed.
Viola May Gillett 1866-1951 # 89166814 is buried in Burlington .

VOLA

Vola Gillette and Ira Lunsford married in Pueblo, Colorado on August 23, 1904.

In 1910 Fort Smith, Arkansas, Ira is a telegraph operator, 22, born in Arkansas, with Vola 222. Ira is 4, born in COlorado.

October 1912 "Mrs. Vola Lunsford returned to Cripple Creek Monday, after a few days visit with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Gillette."

In 1920, both Ira 41, divorced, and Ira 13 are living with his mother Martha Lunsford in Fort Smith.
Ira died February 1934 in Sebastian County, Arkansas.

In 1940 Los Angeles, Vola is 49, with husband John L. Carne, a bricklayer 52 born in Colorado. Both were in Roosevelt Utah in 1935.
Her son Ira C. Lunsford, 33, born in Colorado is a gas station attendant.

They're in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1942, when John registered for WWII.

Vola Carne, born Feb 1, 1888, died in Houston, Texas May 5, 1959, remains to Baylor College of Medicine.

John Leroy Carne, born at Manitou, Colorado Sept 28, 1887, died June 22, 1951 in Baytown, Texas, to be buried in Cedarcrest Cemetery. Findagrave # 43899458. The informant was Mrs. Vola Gillette.
" Funeral services for John LeRoy Carne, 63, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Paul U. Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Little Arlington at Cedarcrest Cemetery where the Tri-Cities American Legion Post No. 323 will conduct a military service. Carne, a retired brickmason. died at his home Friday morning. He is survived by his widow and three brothers."


GRACE

POSSIBLY AN ADOPTED DAUGHTER OF THE GILLETTES ???

Samuel A. Clark, 20, son of J.F. Clark and Mary Holderman, married Grace Shafer, 18, daughter of F. P. Shafer and Sarah E. Allgood, on April 29, 1900.


In 1900 Mahaska County, Iowa, Grace Clark born June 1882 in Iowa, is married to Samuel A. Clark March 1881Iowa. Theyr'e living with his parents James 60 and Mary 57, both born in Illinois.

Samuel A. Clark and Grace Shafer had Gertie H. Clark on Nov 9, 1908 in Keokuk County.

May 1912 "Mrs. Grace Clark of La Junta, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dr. C. A. Gillette, for the past few days, returned to her home Wednesday morning."

In 1920 Otero County, Sam is 38, Grace 37, Bob P. 19, Bill F. 16, and Helen 13, all born in Iowa. Sam and Bob are laborers in alfalfa fields.

Helen Clark was born April 2, 1906 in Keokuk County, Iowa to S.A. Clark and Grace Shaffer.
