"Mr. M. Campbell died at his home,
corner of Sycamore and Brick streets, Ozark, Missouri, Friday, February 25, 1921,
after an illness of several weeks, aged 78 years, 2 months and 22 days.
Brief religious services were held at the residence at 2 o'clock Sunday,
conducted by Rev. J. W. Alexander, pastor Ozark Baptist church,
and the body was conveyed to the Odd Fellows cemetery one, mile south of
town and there laid to rest with the burial ceremonies of the Odd Fellows
fraternity, of which he had been a member for many years,
his membership being in a lodge at Formoso, Kansas.
He was a member of the Ozark Rebekeh Lodge and Ozark Baptist church.
Mark T. Campbell was born near Frankfort, Indiana, December 3, 1842.
He was married twice, his first wife dying in Indiana, leaving a daughtef,
now Mrs. Daisy Nixon, of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He served in the Union army during the civil war, being a member of
20th Indiana Regiment of Infantry, enlisting July. 22, 1861 and being
discharged June 3, 1863. He was married to Miss Nancy H. Paris,
March 13, 1889. They moved to Kansas in 1890, where they lived for more
than thirteen years, and came to Ozark in February, 1904.
Mr. and Mrs. Campbell have been highly respected citizens and all our
people unite in sympathy with her."
