Next to them are a Stephen Cook 47 born in England, with Lydia 41 and nine kids.

April 1910 Kit Carson County "A large crowd gathered at the Hook school house last Wednesday evening, April 6, and listened attentively to a Socialist lecture delivered by W. R. Dillon of Denver. The meeting resulted in the chartering of a loca1 branch of the socialist party."

In 1900 Woodbury County, Iowa, William B. is farming, born Feb 1851, married 21 years to Eliza Dec 1860, both born in Wisconsin. Delvin A. April 1889, Royden E. March 1892, and Anna B. June 1899

In 1910 Kit Carson County, William is 59, Eliza 48, both born in Wisconsin. Roydon 18 in Iowa, Delvin 20 in Wisonsin, and Bernice 10 in Iowa.

March 1910 "Geo E. Hook of Whiting, Iowa is the guest of his brother E.E. Hook, this week.

In 1920 Kit Carson County, William 68, and Lida J. 59 have Delvin A. 30 and Royden G. 27.

William and Lida are alone, farming in Kit Carson County in 1930.

In 1940 Longmont, William is widowed, living with daughter Bernice 40 and her husband Ephraim B. Watkins 45. and their two kids.

William Bolton Hook, 1851-1942 is buried in Longmont, with Eliza Jane (Bethel) Hook 1862-1939.

Anna Bernice Hook, age 19, married Ephraim B. Watkins, 24, in Burlington at the Methodist parsonage ion April 16, 1919.

Anna Bernice (Hook) Watkins 1899-1992 is buried in Longmont, with Ephraim 1894-1982.

Delvin Andrew Hook 1889-1969 is buried in Sandpoint, Idaho, with Mary Gladys (Ivey) Hook 1896-1984.

In 1910 Royden Hook was absent from the ninth grade in Burlington because of illness.

Royden E. Hook, age 29, married Mattie M. Adkisson, 28, both of Burlington, on May 1, 1921.

June 1973 "Jana Kay Lehman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Verne Lohman and the granddaughter of Mrs. Geraldine Hendricks and Verne Dorman Lohman and Royden Eugene Hook and the late Mrs. Hook. Miss Lohman will attend the University of Colo rado. Colorado Springs."

Emma May Hook was born Sept 14, 1923 in Burlington, dying Feb 14, 2002 as Avenson.
She's buried in Fort Logan # 36026617, with Leonard Jacob Avenson 1920-1990.

Pauline (Hook) Lohman passed away in her home among family and friends after a long battle with cancer. She was born on January 14, 1931 in Burlington, Colorado to the late Royden E. and Mattie May Hook.

When she was 5, her family moved to Colorado Springs. Pauline married her high school sweetheart, Ed Lohman. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 9, 2010.


March 2002 Denver "EMMA MAY AVENSON, 78, of Phoenix, formerly of Burlington, died Feb. 14. Services were Feb. 20, with burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Mrs. Avenson was born in Burlington on Sept. 14, 1923. She married Leonard Jacob Avenson, 1943. She was a pianist and a member of All Saints Lutheran Church Choir and Moon Valley Women's Club.

Survivors include daughters Joanna Lehtinen of Arvada, Marla Kloeckner and Carol Clark, both of Nebraska, Mary Duax of Arizona; sons Robert of California, John of Westminster; sisters Pauline Lohman of Colorado Springs; brothers Wilbur Hook of Colorado Springs, Warren Hook of Security; 10 grandchildren. "



Warren Bernard Hook of Colorado Springs, died on Thursday, December 10, 2009. He was born to the late Royden E. and Mattie Mae Hook in Burlington, Colorado on September 13, 1924. His family moved to Colorado Springs in 1935. Warren graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1942. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served as a Hospital Apprentice until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He was then employed by CIG of Colorado Springs for several years.
He was an associate with his brother Wilbur Hook and his wife Norma in the Custom Blue Printing business for over 20 years. In 1974 he met and married his wife Mary C. Hook. After retiring from the printing business, Warren worked with his son at the Security Day Care Center for 23 years until his death at age 85.

Warren demonstrated a deep commitment to his wife of 35 years and all of his family. Warren is affectionately remembered for his deep devotion to family and sweet and gentle demeanor. Warren is survived by his wife Mary C. Hook, of Colorado Springs, his sons; Kelly C. Adragna, Pat J. Adragna, both of Colorado Springs, and Michael T. Adragna of Castle Rock. He is also survived by his sister Pauline Lohman and his brother Wilbur Hook also of Colorado Springs. Also surviving Warren are 8 grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Pikes Peak Hospice. A Celebration of Warren's life will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Lehmberg Chapel. 420 N. Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.



Wilbur Hook "Will Hook, a long time Colorado Springs resident, stepped foot into his heavenly home on Monday, March 26, 2012. He was an alumnus of Colorado Springs High School and Colorado College. After returning from his service in the Navy, he was involved in the printing industry as owner and printing sales agent until his retirement.

Having suffered from heart failure, Will leaves behind his wife, Norma; daughters: Lou Ann Gubser (Brad), Brenda Cluley (Mike), Lisa Wallin (Keith); and son, Rob Hook (Kathy); along with thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Will lived life to its fullest as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and loyal friend. Being an accomplished musician, his great love for music afforded him boundless opportunities to participate in concerts, bands and combos throughout his lifetime. Will used his passion for music as a ministry to serve others. Now, as a strong Christian disciple, he is enjoying the presence of our loving Lord.

Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church on Friday, March 30th, at 2:00 p.m.

In 1910 Elmer Hook was the clerk at the auction of Emma L. Moore Executrix, ten miles northwest of Burlington.
October 26, 1911 "Elmer Hook loaded his car and left last week for Whiting, Iowa. He was accompanied by Billy Sanderson."

William's son Elmer Elliot Hook 1879-1946 is buried in Whiting, Monona County, Iowa, with Verda E. (Konkle) Hook 1884-1964.
Letha J. Hook was born June 17, 1910 in Kit Carson County.
One tree said she married Lloyd Churchill in November 1954.

James John Hook 1858-1935 is buried in Whiting, with Mary Augusta (Parker) Hook 1867-1955.

The Custer County, Nebraska history has Amasa J. Parker, who married a Speer first, and lived at Onaway, Iowa, with Ida May "who married George Hook and lives at Whiting, Iowa; aMary A., who married JJames Hook, of the same place."

STEPHEN

In 1905 Monona County, Iowa Stephen Hook is 61, born in Wisconsin, The census card said he had been in Iowa five years, and had served in H, 42nd Wisconsin form 1864 to 1865.

In 1910 Monona County, Iowa, Stephen Hook is 66, single, , no occupation, boarding with Etta Norwood, 45 and her two kids.

Stephen Isaac Hook 1844-1919 is buried in Dane County, Wisconsin.

"Stephen I. Hook died yesterday at Oregon. He was born at Oregon, then Rome Corners, in 1844, and was the first white child born in that town. He served in the civil war in Company G, 42 regiment. Of his immediate family he is survived by five brothers and two sisters: Norman of this city; James of Whiting, Ia.; George, Sioux City, Ia.; Egbert, who lives in Nebraska, and William in Colorado, Margaret Hook and Mrs. Richards of Sioux City, Ia. The funeral service will be in Brooklyn Sunday afternoon at 1.
