William H. and Clara (Hardesty) Jones
In 1870 Vermilion County, Illinois, Thomas Jones is 47, Julia Jones 31,
Elizabeth Jones 13,
Rebecca Jones 11,
Wm. Jones 7, and Joshua Jones 2.
Rebecca married R. J. O'Neal
in Illinois, and in 1910 they're in
Topeka, both 50, with Thomas 23, Joshua 19, Harrison 13, and Jennie 11. Her cousin Isabel Jones 18, is with them.
William H. Jones and Clara J. Hardesty married in Maryville, Nodaway County, Missouri
on August 18, 1892.
Clara was an orphan in 1880 Nodaway County, 7, living with Michael 41 and Susan 32 Ingram with their son Galen 8.
Susan might be the Susan Knox in 1860 Nodaway County, 12, with parents John Knox 46 and Hannah 34.
Susan married Michael Ingram in Nodaway Countyh on September 20, 1868.
One tree said Clara was the daughter of Andrew Carson Hardisty 1851-1884 dying in Glendale, Montana and
Martha C. Knox 1856-1880.
In 1880 Nodaway County, WIlliam T. Hardesty is, 5, with John Knox 68
and Elizabeth 55. John Knox is 25, Joseph 22.
Albia Knox, 15 and John D. Knox 14, are living with uncle William H. Jones 36
and his wife Clara J. 27, in 1900 Nodaway County. Franklin M. Jones was born Oct 1894, and Laura F. Dec 1897, both in Missouri. William's father Thomas A. Jones is widowed, born July 1821 in Kentucky.
Jones, Laura F. 1898 1/11/1907, plot 5 2 5 5, is buried in Wray "Parents: Dick and Clara."
November 1909 "We learn that our neighbor, Dick Jones, is
going to leave Yuma county the first of the new year.
He has bought 80 acres of land five miles from Topeka, Kansas. The farm has three
acres of fruit
and one of grapes, and is one-half mile from a school and church."

August 1912 "Back to 'Good Old Wray'. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones and son arrived in Wray after an absence of three years. They have been living in Topeka, Kansas. They are occupying the Hoover house in the southwest part of town. The many friends of this family are glad to welcome them back to Yuma county. Mr. Jones is undecided just what lie will |do but thinks eventually, he will engage in farming here again."
"Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jones came in Saturday with their household furnishings
from Topeka, Kansas, where they have made their home for the past two years. This
is the third time Mr. and Mrs. Jones have taken flight and also the third time they
have decided that there is no place like home. They are occupying the
Hoover residence property in southwest Wray and as yet have not decided whether
or not they will locate on a farm. Their many friends are glad to welcome them
to Yuma county and hope that they will remain here permanently."
October 1913 " A pleasant surprise was planned last Friday evening and
successfully carried out, in honor of the 19th birthday of Frank Jones,
son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jones living just north of town, and also in honor of
Mrs. C. Harrington whose birthday happens on the same date. About
fifty were present and spent the evening in a social way followed
by an oyster supper of the first degree. All present report a jolly good time
and left wishing Mr. Jones and Mrs. Harrington many happy returns of the day."
February 1915 "Dick Jones and family, who have been on the Deterding
farm north of Vernon for the past two years, departed for Topeka, Kansas
last night and will make their future home there."

July 1925 " J. G. Jones and wife and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jones of Topeka,
Kansas, who are visiting at the J. G. Jones home, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson,
Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Wilson, Alhia Knox and family, Coll Cumley and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Galen Ingram, Miss Eva Anderson, all of Wray and vicinity,
and Miss Veta Wilson of Deertrail, Colorado, formed a big picnicing party at
Olive Lake Sunday. A fine social time and lots of good eats characterized a happy day for all."
July 1931 "Mr. and Mrs. Arch Miller entertained Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones and
son of Topeka, Kansas, at dinner, on Wednesday evening of last week.
Mr. Jones is a brother of Josh Jones.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jones and son of Topeka, Kansas, departed for their home last Thursday after having visited at»the Josh Jones home southeast of town a few days. "
December 1932 "J. G. Jones received a telegram this morning that his nephew,
Frank1in Jones, died Wednesday evening. The deceased is the eldest son
of W. H. Jones of Topeka, Kansas, who formerly resided here.
He is a brother of J. G. Jones of this city."
William Harrison Jones 1863-1937 is buried in Topeka, # 113809497,
with Clara Jane Jones 1872-1943 # 54430525.
"
Born at Wilcox, Mo., September 17, 1872, she moved to Kansas in 1916 and had made her home in the vicinity of Topeka since that time.
Her husband, the late W. H. Jones, died in 1938.
She was a member of the Highland Park Methodist church and the Clarica chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Wakaursa.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Beulah CRAWFORD, Topeka; one son, Carl F. Jones, Topeka, and four grandchildren."
"Mrs. Beulah Crawford was born July 26, 1903, in Colorado. A former resident of Chicago, she was a member of the United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star there. She moved to Lawrence in 1958, and was employed as a clerk at the Eldridge Hotel until her retirement in 1968.
She was survived by a son, Dean, 900 Murrow Ct., Lawrence; a brother, Carl F. Jones, Carbondale, and three
