David T. and Edith B. (Beale) Evans
Opal E. Donelson, 87, of Greeley died Friday, Feb. 13, at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit in Greeley. She was born Aug. 29, 1916, to James Guy and Goldie (Filler) Evans in Wray, where she attended elementary and high school. At the age of 17, she moved to Denver to attend and graduate from the Denver School of Pharmacy. On Oct. 13, 1943, she married Phillip Neil Donelson in Stark, Fla., where he was stationed in the Army. After World War II, they returned to Yuma, where they owned and operated The Donelson Co., an electrical business. Mrs. Donelson belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, PEO, the International Order of Odd Fellows, and the Presbyterian Church in Yuma. She loved bridge club, luncheon club and time with friends. She also enjoyed a part-time job at the Rexall Drug Store in Yuma after her daughters were grown. In 1990, Mrs. Donelson moved to Greeley to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a volunteer at North Colorado Medical Center until her health failed. Survivors are twin daughters, Jeri Lynn Telford and husband Ron and Deri Lee Armagost; seven grandchildren, Alison Murphy, Phillip Murphy, Shawna Gallegos, Merv Armagost, Ivy Armagost, Jennifer Armagost and Billy O'Rear; and five great-grandchildren. Her parents, her husband and a brother, David, are deceased. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Baucke Funeral Chapel in Yuma. Interment will be in the Yuma Cemetery." |
