George and Sarah (Bailey) Carlyle , Wray
In 1900 Moultrie County, Illinois, George Carlyle is farming, born April 1844 in Scotland, married 30 years to Sarah May 1849 in Tennessee. She's had ten kids, all living.
Charles Jan 1873, Clyde Sept 1876, George P. March 1879, Julius Nov 1880, Thomas Sept 1882, Anne Oct 1884, Rose March 1887, Homer April 1889, and WSalter Feb 1894 were all born in Illinois.
February 22, 1902 Wray "Miss Grace Carlyle, who has been at the
Burrell home for the past month, returned to Haigler Thursday."
October 15, 1909 Wray "Mrs. Bessie Carlyle returned to her
home in Denver Wednesday afternoon."
September 6, 1907 "George Carlyle and wife of Bethany, Ohio, have been visiting
for several days with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Graham and Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Smith,
Mrs. Carlyle being a sister of the two ladies mentioned."
August 29, 1912 Wray "Mrs. J. E. Graham and Mrs. L. D. Smith
received a message Friday informing them of the death of their sister,
Mrs. Sarah Carlyle, which occured at her home that day in Bethany,
Illinois."
Bethany, Illinois, Friday April 30, 1920
"John Carlyle died Sunday afternoon after being sick for several months. He was born near Mattoon Mar. 18, 1871, and was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. George Carlyle. He was married to Martha Mitchell Feb. 10, 1892 and to the union was born one son, Raymond Carlyle. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He leaves six brothers, Charlie, Julius, Clyde, Prent, Thomas of this place and Homer of Missouri. He leaves two sisters, Rose and Anna. He had one brother, Walter, who was killed in France. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon in the Methodist Church, Rev. E.L. Carson, his pastor, officiating. Rev. J.A. McLane offered the prayer. The music was furnished by Mesdames C.O. Tohill nad Sherman Wheeler. Mrs. Carl Mathias at the piano. Flower girls were Mesdames O.C. Hoskins, B.W. Hoskins, Robert Warren and T.G. Scheer. The pallbearers were W.C. Kennedy, A.C. Queen, W.F. Davisson, Harley Smith, James Hale and O.C. Hoskins. The Knights of Pythias attended in a body and had charge of the services at the grave. Burial is in the Bethany Cemetery.

In 1910 Homer A. Carlyle is a laborer, boarding with
the Leonard and Alice Smith family.
April 8, 1910 "Homer Carlyle, who has been working on the Johnson ranch for
the past few weeks, had the misfortune to get mixed up in a runaway last Tuesday
in which his foot was injured. He is now able to be about with the aid of crutches."
February 24, 1911
January 23, 1913 "Homer Carlyle departed for New Mexico the first of the week,
where he goes in quest of health."
May 29, 1913 "Prent" and Charley Carlyle, who live at Bethany, Ill.,
came last Monday noon in answer to a telegram announcing the sickness of their
brother, Homer, who is well known in our city. He was suddenly taken ill last
Saturday while at the depot."
June 26, 1913 "Homer Carlyle left Tuesday morning for Boulder where he goes
to enter a sanitarium at that place. He will probably be absent from Wray the entire
summer but his many friends hope that the change may prove beneficial to him."
"J. O. Graham left Monday morning for Boulder in company with Homer Carlyle
who goes to enter a sanitarium in that place. Mr. Graham will return to Denver
and be in attendance upon the
convention of opticians and jewelrymen which was held yesterday."
Mrs. Homer Carlyle is again in her position
as clerk in the Clark Smith store after a months vacation,
Miss Katherine Weaver having filled her position during her absence."
January 2, 1915 Decatur, Illinois "Fire destroyed the
house of Homer Carlyle and... saved. One ot the greatest losses was Mrs. Carlyle's piano, a. grift from her mother. The house was an old one on the farm of M. E. Sconce. There was $300 insurance on the household "
March 4, 1915 "Word was received this week that Mr. and Mrs. Homer Carlisle
of Bethany, Illinois, were rejoicing over the arrival of a baby boy at their home last week."
January 13, 1916 "At 3:00 Tuesday morning occurred the death
of Mrs. Jennie A. Parsons. Mrs. Parsons was residing at the
home of her son, Arthur, and family, two miles south of Wray,
since her return to this place early ths fall.
She had been ill for several weeks, but her illness was not
alarming until recently, when heart trouble was aggravated
by other complications. Mrs. Parsons was born under the name
of Jennie Redfield, Aug. 6, 1857, at Killingsworth, Conn.,
and in November 1871, was married to Leonard U. Parsons,
to which union were born nine children,
two of whom passed away in infancy, Those surviving the
mother are: Mrs. Cora Foster and Mrs, Grace Burchert,
of Max, Neb., Mrs. Ella Carlyle of Bethany, Illinois;
Mrs. Emma Merrill, of Council Bluffs, Iowa;
William H., of Spokane, Wash.; Joseph, of Wauneta, Neb.;
and Arthur, of Wray, Colo. Mrs. Parson also leaves
twenty-four grand-children, a sister, Mrs. Sarah Swim,
of Red Oak, Iowa, and two brothers,
C. E. Redfield, of Kansas City, Missouri,
and Abram Redfield, of Oregon. Mrs. Parsons was
64 years, 5 months and 6 days of age at the time of her
death.
In November, 1878, Mrs. Parsons became a member
of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter
Day Saints and remained a faithful member of that
church until her death. Mrs. Parsons had been a
widow since August 16, 1901, at which time her
husband passed away at their home near Max,
Nebraska, and since that time, she has resided
several years at her home in East Wray.
The funeral services will be held at her
church home tomorrow (Friday) afternoon,
at 2:00 o'clock by Elder Sutton of Limon,
Colorado, and the body will be taken to Benkleman,
, Nebraska, on the evening train for burial
in the family cemetery at that place."
January 27, 1916 "Mrs. Homer Carlyle and baby left Tuesday evening for their
home in Bethany, I11inois, after having spent two weeks here visiting with her brother,
Arthur Parsons, and family. Mrs. Carlyle had been called to Wray by the death of
her mother, the late Mrs. Jennie Parsons, which occurred two weeks ago."
Homer registered for WWI in Bethany, Illinois, born there April 17, 1889, farming, with a wife and two children.
1919 Wray "Mrs. Ella Carlyle and two children visited her
brother Arther Parson last week. Mrs. Carlyle is from Fulton,butl
Missouri."
In 1930 Callaway County, Missouri, Homer is a laborer in a brick factory, 38, born in Illinois,
with Pansey 33 Missouri. George is 15, John C. 13, and Dorothy M. 11, all four born in Missouri.
George, 15, and W. Scott Carlyle 13 are also listed in teh 1930 census of Crete, Nebraska. Fred Dame is 38, a carpenter, with Ella Dame 37.
In 1940 Butler County, Missouri, Homer is farming, 47, Pansy M. 34, born in Colorado with Patricia 4.
In 1959 Pansy M. Carlyle, a special order cook, had five years of employment at the Barnes Medical Center, St. Louis.
Homer 1889-1961 is buried in St. Louis County, Missouri # 176533667

Pansy Carlyle (Worley) died 1968 - notice in the August 25, 1968 Post Dispatch.
Dorothy E. Foster Carlyle, age 81, died January 20, 2005 - St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Patricia Anne Carlyle, 17, married Robert D. Simpson, 19, on December 24, 1952 in Butler County. Mother Pansy Carlyle gave permisision, living at Fisk, Missouri.
Ella B. (Parsons) Dame 1892-1987 is buried in Stratton, Nebraska # 106270461.
George L. Carlyle, born Feb 16, 1915 in Moultrie County, Illinois, died May 24, 2004 in Maricopea County, Arizona # 107959507.
Willard Scott Carlyle 1917-1993 is buried in Saint George, Utah # 42585.
He married Phyllis Lee, and they had Michael Scott Carlyle on January 26, 1944 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
