Roy is in the 1900 census twice, once in Eckley, a railroad laborer, and then with parents Peter 51 and Esther 45 in Laird.

October 15, 1902 Roy Cuney and Miss Lydia Lohman married at the home of the bride's parents near Vernon. Miss Addie Lohman was bridesmaid. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cuney, Arley and Ross Cuney, Mary Cuney, Mr. and Mrs. A. Lohman, the Misses Carrie, Addie, Amanda and Norah Lohman, Messrs Edward, Arthur and Daniel Lohman, Mr. and Mrs. Will Lohman, Mrs. Alma Lohman and sons Harvey and Fred, Henry C. Lohman, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rife, Mr. and Mrs. Guy V. Meyers, M. Ed Ellis..


April 2, 1909 Vernon items "Roy Cuney's baby died Wednesday morning; the funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock."

April 9, 1909 " The funeral of little Ross Cuney was held Thursday at 10 o'clock. The parents have the sympathy of the community."
This would be Ross H. Cuney 1907-1909 buried in Wray # 63504979.

In 1910 Yuma County, Roy is running a store in Vernon, 34, married 7 years to Lydia 30 Illinois. She's had three dids, on eliving. Stella is two months old.
June 5, 1913 "Roy Cuney, the postmaster-merchant of Otis, Colo., came down to Wray last Friday for a few days visit with friends in this part of the county and to see how things were coming on his farm south of town. Roy says that the weather got so hot that he couldn't stand the work so left it in charge of his wife who thought she would be able to manage it until the hot spell was over."

Roy Chetwynd Cuney registered for WWI in Yuma, an assistant in a grain elevator, born November 9, 1875, with Lydia Cuney as nearest relative.
In 1920 Yuma, Roy is an oil dealer, 44, with Lydia 39. Rossa is 10.

August 1923 "S.G. Mitchell recently purchased the wholesale Continental oil and gas business in this city of Roy Cuney."

January 14, 1937
At that time the Ritchie's were operating a funeral parlor. They moved their mortuary business to South Ash street in the 1950's.
This could have been at 318 North Main.


August 1938
In July 1940 Mr. Seymour of Sheridan, Wyoming purchased the Lett Hotel from Roy Cuney.
"Those from out of town who came last week to attend the funeral of Levi James Wright were his son, George and his wife of Julesburg, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kuney of Julesburg, Mrs. Nora Mahan of Otis, a niece, and Mrs. Wright's niece, Mrs. Paul McMonigal of San Antonio, Texas. On Tuesday Mrs. Wright accompanied the latter back to Texas and will stay for an indefinite period at the home of her son Frank, in San Antonio."

Roy C. Cuney 1875-1957 is buried in Wray # 63505026.
"Roy Chetwood Cuney was born Nov. 9, 1875, near South Whitley, Ind., and died Nov. 8, 1957. He was the oldest of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Cuney. Brother Cuney was married to Lydia Lohman on Oct. 15, 1902. To this union three children were born. He leaves to mourn his death, his devoted wife; his son-in-law and grandson, George and LeRoy Wright of Julesburg, and other relatives and friends. "

So is Lydia L. Cuney 1880-1971 # 63504923.

October 13, 1938
January 11, 1940

Rossa I. Cuney, age 18, married George S. Wright on November 2, 1926, at Akron.
November 1929 George Wright moved his shoe repair shop from Akron, and was located in the Wright hardware store.

In 1930 Yuma, on north Main Street, George is a shoe repairman, 24 born in Kansas, with Rossa 19.

George and Rossa are in Julesburg in 1940, still a shoe repairman, with no kids.
