In 1860 Whitley County, Indiana, Augustus Cuney is 37, Mary 32, Eliza 13, Peter 11, Joseph 8, Lucetta 5, mary A. 4, and Josephine 1.

In 1870 Whitley County, Indiana, August Cuney is 50, born in France, Mary 44 Ohio. Eliza 23, Peter 21, Joseph 18, Louisitta 15, Mary Ann 13, born in Ohio Josephine 11, John 9, Charles 5, in Indiana. Grandson George C. Shaffer 3 is with them. So is Mrs Cuney's mother Barbara Schilling 74.
Nancy was born 1827 in Switzerland Co., Indiana to William L Blunk and Martha Patsy Montfort.
Nancy Blunk married David Myers 17 Jan. 1847 in Kosciusko Co., Indiana.

Estelle Myers is in Whitley County in 1860, 6, with David 37 and Nancy 32. Ursula is 12, J. 10 (This is Icephena Ellen Myers North 1850-1916 buried in Whitley County # 33398024, "Daughter of David Myers (b: 1823, Ohio d: June 1880) and Nancy Blunk (b: November 03, 1827 Whitley County, IN d: June 08,1912, Columbia City, Whitley County, Indiana). Her siblings include Ursula b: 1848, John b: 1850, Henry F. b: 1852, Estella V. b: 1854 d: 1825 and Columbus b: 1857. "), Henry 8, Columbus 3, and Wm. 7 months.

In 1870 David Myers 47 and Nancy 42 have Henry 18, Estell 16, and William H. 10.

David Myers 1823-1880 is buried in Whitley County # 134605155. In another cemetery is Nancy (Blunk) (Myers) Miller 1827-1912 # 33350428.


In 1880 Whitley County, Indiana, Peter Cuney is 30, Estelle 25, Shetland 4, Blanche 2,and Nancy eight months.

Peter F. Cuney proved up a quarter in 27, 1 North 43 West in 1893.

In 1900 Yuma County, Peter, born October 1848 in Ohio, father in France, mother in Pennsylvania, married 26 years to Esther October 1854 Indiana. R Roy November 1875 and Nancy I. October 1879 were born in Indiana. Arley A. Septermber 1882 and Ross M. January 1885 in Nebraska, and Mary F. December 1893 in Colorado.

August 11, 1900 Peter Cuney left for South Whitley, Indiana for a month's visit, his first visit home for ???ty years.

October 5, 1901 "Peter Cuney harvested 160 acres of wheat, and the total crop was 1660 bu. One forty yielded 859 bu., an average of 14 bu. to the acre."

Aaron Miller was born near Dayton, Ohio, September 10 th, 1828, and died at his residence in Wray, December 1 st, 1902, being 74 years, 2 months and 21 days old. In early manhood he moved to Indiana, settling near North Manchester. He was married three times. To the first union was born one daughter, Mary Jane, now Mrs. David Ulrey, of Pratt, Kansas, who visited with him during the earliest part of his sickness.
To the second union was born five children, two of whom died in infancy; a daughter who died at the age of eighteen; a son, Ezra; and a daughter, Mrs. Aaron Ulrey, now living at North Manchester. The latter has been with him through most of his sickness which lasted nearly 10 months.
He leaves eight grand children, a brother and sister, Mr. David Miller and Mrs. Margaret Colpitzer both of Manchester, Indiana. He removed from Indiana, to Dorchester, Nebraska, in 1880, was married October 29, 1832, to Mrs. Nancy Myers, mother of H. P. Myers and and Mrs. Peter Cuney, both well known here who survives him.
They removed to Wray, Colorado, in March, 1893, the commencement of the severest drouth this country has ever known. But his faith in its future never wavered and although very considerate of others opinions he had little patience with those inclined to doubt its future.
Uncle Aaron as he was familiarly called, was inclined to look on the bright side of life and during hfc long sickness and intense suffering his many friends who called, were always met with the assurance that he was better.
He will be missed by his many friends and by none, more than by the little children of whom he was especially fond. He was a life long member of the Dunkard church in whose plain, simple rites he was buried. The funeral occured at his late residence Dec. 3rd, conducted by Rev. D. C. Cowan. Interment in Wray cemetery."
"William L Blunk (born bet 1799 and 1805 in Kentucky & died aft. 1831 in Switzerland Co., Indiana) Martha Patsy Montfort (born 9 Aug 1806 in Henry,Kentucky died 30 Jan 1888 in Nebraska)." "Martha "Patsy" Montfort was the daughter of John Calvin and Nancy Agnes Mitchell Montfort of Henry County, KY. She was born in Aug 1806 and died sometime in 1887 in Nebraska. Her first husband was William Blunk and she later married William McFerron [a brother to Robert who had married her sister, Sarah]. Only one known child, Nancy." "

Martha Blunk married William "McFerron" in Owen County, Kentucky April 6, 1835.
Martha was of age, and William's letter of consent from Wiliam's father James McFerron.

In 1850 Kosciusko County, Indiana, Wm. is 34, Martha 44, with John W. Blunk, 19.

In 1860 Carroll County, Missouri, Wm. is 45, Martha 50.

Martha McFeron, Estelle's grandmother, is in Decatur County, Iowa in 1870, 64, married to William McFeron 54. Mary D. Kinsey, 10 born in Missouri is with them.

There's a William A. McPherron that # 68651980 has buried in Mills County, Iowa dying April 13, 1882 at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 25 days.


In 1885 Saline County, Nebraska, Aron Miller is 56, Nancy 57, and Martha McFeron 78 is with them, Nancy's mother.
January 6, 1905 "Mrs. Miller who is making her home with her daughter Mrs. Cuney south of town is quite ill."

Nancy M. Miller, born Nov 3, 1827, widow of Aaron Miller, died June 8, 1912 in Whitley County.

"Miss Nannie Cuney, who is taking the formal course in Greeley, spent her vacation with her parents south east of town. Miss Nannie expects to finish her course this year."

July 14, 1905 "Pete Cuney, southeast of town, is building an 18 x 25 addition to his residence."

December 8, 1905 "Mr. Cuney is building a new farm residence on his place a half-mile south of the Wells school house."

February 2, 1906

June 7, 1907 Wray "Married, last Sunday, at the home of the bride s parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Cuney, six miles southeast of this city - Mr. Clyde Roberts, and Miss Nannie Cuney. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F. R. Marsh, of the Presbyterian church. Mr. Koberts is a prosperous young farmer and well thought of in this vicinity, and Miss Cuney, who has taught school at Laird for several terms, is one of the most estimable young ladies of this section. Mr. and Mrs. Roberts will make their home about two miles east of Mr. Cuney's place. May they live long and prosper, is the wish of the Rattler.

In 1910 Yuma County, Peter is 60, Estelle 55, married 36 years. Ross M. is 25 boorn in Nebraska, and Mary Fay 16 in Colorado. Estelle's mother Nancy M. Miller 82 is with them.

August 5, 1910 "Mrs. Peter Cuney and mother Mrs. Aaron Miller, left Friday for a visit to relatives at Columbia City, Ind. They will stop at Chicago where they will visit a sister of Mrs. Cuney. Mrs. Miller is one of Yuma countys most aged citizens, being nearly 85."

June 6, 1912 "Wednesday evening at eight o'clock at the P. F. Cuney home in West Wray occurred the marriage of their daughter, Mary F., to Earle C. Drommond, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Drommond of this place. Rev. A. L. Ogden, of the Christian church, of which Mrs. Drommond is a member, officiated. Mrs. Drommond was a graduate of the county high school this year and was one of the most popular members of her class. Mr. Drommond is one of Wray's younger business men, being a part owner of the City Meat Market. Those present at the marriage were: Mr. and Mrs. James Drommond and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bullard, sister and brother in law of the groom. After the ceremony a splendid two-course supper was served and after a short time spent in a social way the young couple went to their new home in West Wray. They will occupy the John Remington residence."

April 2, 1909 Vernon items "Roy Cuney's baby died Wednesday morning; the funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock."

April 9, 1909 " The funeral of little Ross Cuney was held Thursday at 10 o'clock. The parents have the sympathy of the community."
This would be Ross H. Cuney 1907-1909 buried in Wray # 63504979.

June 5, 1913 "Roy Cuney, the postmaster-merchant of Otis, Colo., came down to Wray last Friday for a few days visit with friends in this part of the county and to see how things were coming on his farm south of town. Roy says that the weather got so hot that he couldn't stand the work so left it in charge of his wife who thought she would be able to manage it until the hot spell was over."

November 13, 1919 "Mr. and Mrs. Gus Heiser and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Cuney plan to leave this week for California where they will spend the winter. They will appreciate California much more for having remained in Colorado until they had gotten a taste of real winter."


February 5, 1929

Peter 1849-1929 is buried in Wray # 63504960, with Estelle V. (Myers) Cuney 1854-1925.


Henry Lohman married Olga "Cluney" - probably Cheney on June 2, 1927, recorded in Yuma County.
