1974 "Harlan Fay Shively was born at Kirk May 30, 1913 and passed away at his home in Seattle, Wash. Feb 1, at the age of 60 years, 8 months and 1 day. He was baptised and became a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church at Kirk when he was a boy. He attended the public, elementary and high schools in Kirk. Following graduation he attended the Grand Island Business College, Grand Island, Neb. During his youth Harlan farmed with his father on a ranch near Kirk. June 2, 1937, he and Neva Jeanne Dennis of Anselmo, Neb., were united in marriage. They made their home at Kirk where Harlan continued to farm for a few years. [Date omitted] a daughter, Sharon Kay, was born to their union. In the fall of 1943 Harlan and his family moved to Seattle where he obtained employment with the Boeing Co. After a number of years, they returned to Kirk to operate the ranch and while there, a son, John Guy, was born [date omitted]. In 1953 Harlan became a charter member of the Kirk Lions Club. In 1956 Harlan and his family returned to Seattle to work again at the Boeing Co., where he was employed at the time of his death. Harlan will be remembered by his family as a devoted and loving husband and father. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Jeannie, their daughter Sharon Kay Finlan, husband Jerry and daughters Simon Yvette and Sabrina Nannette of Olderwood Manor, Wash; a son John Guy Shively, his wife Wendy and their son John Harlan of Kirkland Wash; his mother, Maggie Shively; two sisters, Mrs Elmer Boone and Mrs. Claris Crawford, all of Kirk; many other relatives and a host of friends" December 10, 1959 Mr. and Mrs. Terry Finland of Seattle Washington are the proud parents of a baby girl born November 24. Mrs. Finland is the former Sharon Shively. Mrs. Maggie Shively is the great grandmother." Neva Jeanne Shively, born Aug 4, 1919, died Nov 22, 2009. |

December 29, 1932 May 4, 1933 "Mrs. Elizabeth Boone is back at the Lloyd Amy home after a couple of months absence on account of illness. Miss Minnie Lohmeyer was at the Amy Home during Mrs. Boone's absence." May 11, 1933 June 1, 1933 "Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Boone, who occupied the house just south of the school, moved their household goods to the John Shively place where they will live for a time. .."Mrs. Elmer Boone entertained the Alumni at ther home Wednesday afternoon. A good time is reported." September 3, 1936 August 13, 1938 "G.A. Meade took the Motsinger truck and moved the furniture for the Elmer BOone family to their new home in Arvada, Sunday. Elmer has a position in the Arvada schools for the coming term." August 17, 1939 December 24, 1941 Elmer and Elizabeth had a baby girl. September 13, 1945 In September 1947 Elmer Boone of Kirk was added to the Joes high school. January 31, 1952 May 7, 1953 "Mrs. Betty Fast has been in quite bad condition in the St. Francis, Kansas hospital. Her father, Elmer Boone, gave a blood transfusion Sundayh and Mrs. Francis Crawford gave one Monday." June 30, 1960 She had a pre-nuptial shower at the Ronald Hutton home. February 9, 1961 "Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Boone are spending Sunday with their daughter and husband, the Melvin Wrights, in Greeley. November 15, 1962 December 25, 1980 "Mr. and Mrs. Dick Dietz bought the Elmer Boone house in Kirk. Mr. and Mrs. Boone will move to Stratton." April 2, 1964 Elizabeth A.
