Kentucky Historical Society V42N2 - Caroline's death date provided  by Sharron Standifer Ashton of Norman, Oklahoma.
Ms. Ashton said that Caroline is buried in Fountain County, and Nicholas died June 22, 1889 in Norton County, Kansas - buried in a pasture there.

In 1870 Fountain County Indiana, Nicholas and Caroline Clines have Thomas S. 21, James O. 17, Sarah E. 15, David S. 12, Ditte N. 10, Mary C. 7, Josiah 5, Lilly R. six months, and Lydia Miller 78.

In 1880 Fountain County Nicholas 73 and Caroline 68 have son Ditto N. 20, Mary 17, "Jonah" 14, - a farm laborer - Lilly 10, and Sarah 25 now married to Aron Brown with Amanda 3.

Next household is James, 28, with Nancy 18.  James had married Nancy E. Donaldson May 22, 1879 in Fountain County.  They had James A. Clines July 1880 in Indiana - James A. was with Aaron and aunt Sarah E. Brown in 1900 Fountain County.

Nancy Cline, 58, is in Morgan County, Indiana, widowed, a servant in the Elmer and Grace Harvey farm.

In 1900 Franklin County Kansas, Josiah, born February 1865, is farming.

(Brother Thomas Clines was also in Franklin County Kansas - in 1895 he's 46, married to Vermilia 42 - they have John W. 21, Thomas D. 16, David N. 11, Evelena 8, and Joaphene 5. Thomas stayed in Kansas, and he 1848-1936 and Permelia 1851-1920 are buried in Antioch Cemetery, Franklin County with son Thomas D. 1879-1909)

1913 "The party who took the egg case from near my mail box last Saturday is requested to return the same - J. Clines."

In 1913 and 1914 the Yuma County commissioners paid James, James, and Joseph for road work - so James A. must have been there too.

Josiah proved up two quarters in 12, 1S 48W in 1913.   Also in 1913 "Joshua Cline this week traded his half-section, nine miles south of Yuma, to F.A. Myers, of Lebanon, Kansas, for property in the Sunflower State.  Mr. Myers and family will reside on the new farm they have acquired."

James cash-claimed a quarter in 12, 1S 48W in 1915, witnesses Joseph L. Kraut, James E. Jessup, John O. Brunson, and Melvin R. Sprout, all of Yuma.

1915 "John Cline" had letters left at the Yuma post office.

James was in Fort Morgan in 1918 - James Alva Clines had registered there, working at the Farmers Elevator, living at 621 Sherman Street in Fort Morgan, and James O., father, was his closest relative.

In 1920 Joe Clines is living alone in Yuma County, farming, 51, born in Indiana, parents born in Kentucky.

In 1930 he's living with his sister Lillian J. and William E. Ireland in Logan County, Colorado, a farm laborer.

Lillie R. Irelan - Jan 14, 1870-May 28, 1950 is buried in Sterling Riverside Cemetery.

James O. Clines is in Fort Morgan in 1930,  77, born in Kentucky, widowed, with son James A. Cline 49 born in Indiana, and Isabella R, 40, born in Nebraska.

James O. Clines received Old Age Pension from the Morgan County Commissioners starting in 1934.

He's still with son James - who does yard work in a private house -  in 1940 Fort Morgan, and "Ruth" 40 Nebraska.  Also there is Ruth's sister Bertha 48 and her husband Homer Whitaker, 66 Tennessee - no occupation.

James O. Clines - 1852-1940 is buried in Sterling Riverside Cemetery.

James A. Clines -1880 - August 2, 1962 and Isabela - dying Feb 25, 1965 - are buried in Fort Morgan - Isabela has no head stone.
