In Stoddard County, Missouri in 1900 are A.A. Ford 41, J.M. born Feb 1863 in Illinois, with Bernie 12,Dessa 7, Vena 4, and Girtie August 1881.

1909 Red Cloud, Webster County, Nebraska "Miss Mary Ford of McCook is here visiting relatives."

Martha D. Purcell -1838-1918 is buried in Stamford, Harlan County, Nebraska, # 73208302. 

Andrew Alexander FORD was born on 30 Apr 1859 in Cape Girardeau, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He died on 4 Mar 1932 in Hastings, Adams, Nebraska. Andrew and Jeanetta Purcell, daughter of Edward and Martha Purcell, were married somewhere in the southern part of Illinois. They resided in Puxico Missouri for 24 years until they moved to Red Cloud Nebraska in fall of 1904. They lived in Red Cloud for a few years and then moved on to Western Nebraska and finally to eastern Colorado Yuma County where they lived for several years before returning to Red Cloud where they continued to live until Andrew's death in 1932. At that time Jeanetta moved to Fairbury and lived with daughter Mary until her death in 1940.

Mary J. 56 and Andrew A. 60 with Mary J. 18 are in Harlan County in 1920.  Andrew Ford , "Bernette" , and Mary are in Webster County, Nebraska in 1930.  Jennetta is widowed in 1940 Jefferson County, Nebraska, living with school-teacher Mary 28.

1911 "A.A. Ford is building a cement foundation and floor for a hen house this week. Mr. Ford will soon have a farm to be proud of."

1911 "Walter Palmer is putting down a well for Mr. Ford this week."

1912 "A. A. Ford is hauling lumber from Yuma this week for his new house."

Andrew A. Ford, of Eckley proved up two quarters in 23, 1S 46W in 1914, witnesses Richard J. Gilmore, Clarence A. Gilmore, Reuben C. Kouba, and Albert A. Scrivner.

In 1915, Vena Ford was a teacher in Yuma County.

In 1910 Yuma County, Richard J. Gilmore is farming, 52, married 29 years to Helen, both born in Wisconsin.  Clarene 21 and Ethel 18 both born in Nebraska, Elna 17 in Wisconsin.

1912 "Clarence Gilmore and Cleave Mason are cooking hash in the Stag building in East Happyville now days."

1912 "The Misses Dessie and Vena Ford of Robb spent the forepart of this week with their father on his homestead here."

Daughter Dessa married Clarence A. Gilmore April 18, 1917 - Happyville, Yuma County, Colorado.  Clarence proved up two quarters in 28, 1S 46W in 1914, witnesses Andrew A. Ford, Albert A. Scribner, Reuben C. Kouba, and Joe F. Young.

Clarence was the son of Richard J. Gilmore - who was the first postmaster of Happyville, a candidate for county school superintendent.

In 1920 Richard and Helen are alone.

Luella G. Campbell is widowed in the 1920 Happyville precinct census, with kids Cecil L. 19, Neva J. 17, Clara M. King 13, and Julius E. King 9. (Neva J. Campbell was born May 4, 1903 in Ringgold County Iowa to J.H. Campbell and Louella G. Higgins.)(In 1910 Yuma County Luella King is married to William, with Cecil9, Eva C. 7, and Clara K. 3) ( Clara M. Mallon 23, is in Happyville in 1930, married to John H. 27, with Freda M.4 and Minnie L. 1)


April 14, 1927

Richard J. Gilmore married Luella G. Campbell August 7,1929, recorded in Washington County.

In 1930 Richard is 73, on First street in Otis, married to Luella, 57, married 23 years (sic)- he is a produce laborer.

They're back in Yuma County in 1940, 83 and 67.

Richard J. 1857-1950, Helen A. Gilmore -1858-1927, and Luella A. (Higgins)(King)(Campbell) Gilmore 1873-1952 are buried in Yuma

Edith Gilmore married Albert Collins, and had Clinton Merle Collins on July 31, 1905 in Grashit, Wisconsin. Merle came to Yuma County to live with grandparents, after graduating from the Warren, Illinois high school. Merle married Francisca Herman on October 20, 1928. They had Doris Lorriane, who married Ray Gardner, and Hazel Marie, who married Merle Gardner.
