John B. and Minnie (Winkleman) Thomas, Vernon


"Minnie" Anna was a daughter of Ernst/Williams and Johannah Louise (Gumelt) Winkelman. She was the sister of: Anna Amilia, Mono and Ottelea W. She was first married to Mr. Calhun. John Bernard Thomas and Minnie Winkelman were married July 30, 1883 in Chadron, Nebraska. They had eight children: Clara, Annie Minnie, Katie Hulda, John William, Edward Ferdinand, Fred Henry, Harry Lewis, and Johannas Louise.

In 1885 Butler County, Nebraska, John Thomas is 28, Minnie 23, both born in Prussia. They have Clarah, 1.
Joseph Thomas, 25, brother is living with them.

John B. Thomas 1856-1899 is buried in Vernon # 47705446.
November 11, 1899 "John Thomas died from the effects of narcotic poison at the home of Dr. Henry Monday night. Thomas returned to his old home on the Grigsby place on the Arickaree Friday evening and again made trouble. He was arrested and brought before Justice Greatsinger, who placed him under $1,000 peace bond, and failing to secure the bond, he was to have been taken to Denver.
At Vernon he became under the influence of morphine, being addicted to the use of that drug, and slept for forty-eight hours at the home of J. A. Miller. It was finally decided to take him to Denver, but when the party reached Dr. Henry's place his condition was looked to. It was found that he would not survive the journey, and he died shortly there after.
The verdict of the coroner's jury, after minute investigation, was that he had come to his death from the effect of an overdose of morphine, taken by himself. The deceased was buried at Glendale Tuesday. A divorce case, on the grounds of brutality filed by the wife, has been pending."

In 1910 Vernon precinct, Yuma County, Minnie Thomas is widowed, 47, born in Germany, with John 20, Thomas 18, Fred 14, Harry 12, and Louisa 10, all five born in Nebraska.

1902 "Anna Thomas, who lives with Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Hendrie, has gone out home south of Vernon, for a three weeks visit with her mother."

Minnie A. Thomas, widowed, in 1910 Glendale precinct, born July 1862 in Germany. With her are Clara May 1884, Anna M. June 1885, John W. Dec 1889, Edward F. Aug 1892, Frederick H. Sept 1895, Harry L. January 1897, and Johannah L. Jan 1899, all Nebraska.

1904 "Miss Clara Thomas, who has been visiting at home, returned to Basalt, Colorado, recently.

In 1910 Yuma County, Minnie is 49, John 20, Edward 18, Fred 14, Harry 12, and Louisa 10.
Minnie A. Thomas proved up 320 acres in 10, 11, and 14, 2S 44W. It was on the south fork of Black Wolf Creek. It joined land of Geo C. Piper, proved up in 1894.

March 1916 "Mrs. Minnie A. Thomas and daughter Louise, returned Wednesday of this week from Chedron, Nebraska, where they had been visiting friends and relatives.

In 1920 Minnie is living with Edward and Fred.

In 1930 Minnie is living alone in Vernon precinct, 67, first married at 21 - that would be 1884.

EDWARD

Edward Ferdinand Thomas registered in Vernon, born Aug 6, 1892 at Chadron, Nebraska.
Edward Thomas and Grace Rock married May 10, 1921, recorded in Yuma County.Grace was born May 22, 1898 in Saint Croix, Wisconsin, and is with parents James and Cora in Wisconsin in 1900, 1905, and 1910.
Worley A. Rock proved up two quarters in 33, 2S 45W in 1913.
Worley's sister Emma married Harley Piper, and they were in Vernon in 1910, but moved back to Iowa.

Edward is married in 1930 Yuma County, 27, with Grace J. 31, Wisconsin. They have Donald, 2.
Edward is farming in 1940 El Paso County, and they have only Donald.

Edward F. Thomas 1892-1978 # 84378473, lot GS 050 D 001 and Grace J. 1898-1991 # 84378474, lot GS 050 D 002, buried in Colorado Springs.


Donald K. Thomas, born March 2, 1928, died Nov 21, 2005.
Donald Kenneth Thomas spent his life pursuing adventures as an avid outdoorsman. Born March 2,1928 to Edward F. Thomas and Grace J. Thomas (Rock), Don grew up ranching the high plains of Southeastern Colorado with his father. Much of his youth was spent camping, hunting, fishing and skiing. His interest in guns and ammunition led him work as an Artillery Repairman in the Civil Service at Ft. Carson in the 50's and 60's. His love of hunting and fishing led him start his own business - Western Sporting Goods - on the Westside of Colorado Springs in the 70's. He married Mary Ann Bergman October 3,1973. Although he sold the business, he continued to do gunsmith work along with his pursuit of hunting and fishing until his death. While attending a gun Sign the Guest Book at www.legacy.com/gazette show in Denver, Don broke a hip. He died Monday, November 21, 2005 of complications during dialysis prior to hip surgery. He is survived by his stepson -James D. Clark. HARRY

Harry Thomas, 22 married Lydia Kuk, 23, on December 5, 1916 in Yuma County.

In 1920 Yuma County, Harry is farming, 23, "Ludia" 27, Eunice 2, and Dorothy newborn.


In 1930 Yuma County, Harry is farming, 33, born in Nebraska, with Lydia 35 born in Colorado. Eunice L. is 12, Dorothy L. 10, Rowlin L. 8, John G. 6, and Shirley V. 1, all born in Colorado.
In 1940 Vernon precinct, Harry and Lydia are farming, with Rollin 19, John 17, and Shirley 11.
Harry Lewis Thomas 1897-1978 # 64972536 is buried in St. John's, with Lydia 1893-1944 # 64972567

Harry Thomas and Lydia Kuk were married in 1916 and settled on their homestead southeast of Idalia, Colorao where their five children (Eunice, Dorothy, Rawlin, John, and Shirley) were born. They spent the first twenty years of their marriage near Idalia, then lived in or near Vernon for six years before moving to Kit Carson in 1942.
Harry was born at Chadron, Nebraska and as an infant came to Yuma County with his seven brothers and sisters and his parents, John Bernard and Emma Minnie Anna (Winkleman) Thomas, and settled south of Vernon. Ludia was one of the eleven children of Gottlieb and Caroline (Lange) Kuk and was born and raised at Newton which was in southern Yuma County.
Harry and Lydia were engaged in farming. At first they used horse drawn machinery, next and briefly the second-hand Hart Parr tractor with iron wheels and lugs, and eventually tractors with inflated tires. Much of the food was home grown as they planted potato patches, vegetable gardens, milked cows, and raised and butchered their own chickens, pork, and beef. Vegetables were dried or canned and meat was cured or canned for use throughout the year as there was no electricity or refrigeration. wheat was exchanged at the local flour mill in Idalia for flour. Excess eggs and cream, were taken to the general store and traded for additional groceries, oil for kerosene lamps, chicken feed, overalls, shoes, dress material, or whatever was needed at the time.
The children rode horseback to school most of the time. The older ones attended Newton grade school and Eunice and Dorothy graduated from Idalia High /school, attended college in Greeley, and taught school.
Rawlin and John graduated from Vernon and served in the Army -- Rawlin in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy and John in Japan. Shirley attended schools in Kit Carson and Vernon and graduated from Ellicot near Colorado Springs. She attended college in Fort Collins and taught school.
Eunice married George Haskell and they lived in the Wray and Haigler areas.

Rawlin's family lived in Denver.
Lydia Thomas passed away in 1944. In 1947 Harry married Ludvica Landauer - Mahlberg of Kit Carson. They later moved to the Vernon area and in December 1972 moved to Wray.

Clarence Eugene Witte was born on May 8, 1928 to Christian H.W. and Louise Dorthea (Bruegggeman) Witte in Wray, Colorado. He passed away, at the age of 82, on April 4, 2011 at the East Morgan County Hospital in Brush, Colorado. Clarence attended school at Wray, Vernon Lutheran, Prairie Ridge and Vernon Elementary graduating from Vernon High School in 1946. He married Shirley Vivian Thomas on June 11, 1950 and to this union three children were born, Marilynn, Kris and Dave..

He was preceded in death by Johnny and Leona Thomas, Rawlin and Mary Thomas, Dorothy and Bob Wingfield






LOUISE

June 1915 "R. E. Calhoun who was called to Blunt, S. D. by the serious illness of his mother reports her only slightly improved. Mrs. Calhoun's sister, Miss Louise Thomas is staying with her during her husband's absence."
March 1916 "Mrs. Minnie A. Thomas and daughter Louise, returned Wednesday of this week from Chedron, Nebraska, where they had been visiting friends and relatives.

May 1917 "Dr. Reid of McCook, Nebraska, was a Vernon visitor Monday of this week, coming down to do some surgical work for Dr. Worth's patients. He had only been in town a few minutes when he was summoned back home to attend a patient who had been seriously injured.
Miss Louise Thomas and mother accompanied him to McCook. Miss Thomas will have her nose operated on for adenoids and hypertrophied turbinates."

Roy B. Gilmore proved up 320 acres in sections 11 and 12, 3S 44W in 1914.

Leroy M. Gilmore of Vernon, Colorado served in Headquarters Company, 341st Field Artillery in WWI - the company was in the Metz offensive November 8-11, 1911 and was part of the German Occupation.


October 2, 1919 "A marriage license was issued last Saturday to LeRoy Gilmore of Wray, and Miss Louise Thomas of Vernon."

December 1912 "Roy Gilmore of Idalia came over last Sunday to meet his brother, Emil, and family who were expected to arrive the first of the week from Rhinelander, Wisconsin."

In 1930 Yuma County, Laird precinct, Leroy is farming, 40, born in Iowa, with Louise 31 Nebraska. Morris is 7.

In 1940 Fort Morgan, Colorado, Leroy is a dry land farmer, 50, with Louisa H. 42, Morris H. 19, and Elvin L. 9.

Leroy Major Gilmore registered for WWII in Fort Morgan, Colorado, farming two miles west of Fort Morgan. He was born Sept 8, 1889 at Monmout, Iowa.

Morris Hubert Gilmore was born April 29, 1922 in Wray, to Leroy M. Gilmore and Louise H. Thomas, dying October 20, 1991.


KATIE

In 1900 Lansing precinct, Francis Greatsinger, born July 1849 in New York, married eleven years to Elsie N. March 1838 New York, are farming. They have a Katie Thomas, 12, born in Nebraska, as a servant.


1905 "Miss Katie Thomas, who has been up at Pueblo for some time, arrived in Wray Saturday and went out to her home south of Vernon."
"Miss Katie Thomas, who has been employed at Pueblo, Colo., returned to her home, eight miles south of Vernon, last Saturday."
1907 "Katie Thomas expects to leave here for California to visit a sister." 1910 "Miss Katie Thomas arrived Wednesday from Ocean Park, Cal. She went out to the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna Thomas, where she will probably remain for a few months."

March 1907 "Katie Thomas expects to leave here for California to visit a sister.
Eddie Thomas, who had the misfortune of discharging the contents of a gun into his foot, is able to be about again."

ANNA

1902 "Anna Thomas, who lives with Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Hendrie, has gone out home south of Vernon, for a three weeks visit with her mother."

Anna Thomas, age 21, married G.W. Hadlock, age 30, at Vernon, Colorado October 10, 1906.

1916 the Yuma County commissioners paid the Littleton Hospital for the care of Anna Thomas.

1914 "Mesdames George and Lem Hadlock and Miss Katie Thomas from southwest of Vernon, wer Denver visitors the first of this week, going on No. 9, Monday and returning on No. 14, yesterday."

March 1915 "Mrs. Roy Calhoun's mother and sister, Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. George Hadlock spent several days with her during her illness. They returned home Friday. Mrs. Calhoun is better at present."
Annie Thomas Hadlock # 79962178 is buried in Vernon.

CLARA

July 1904 "Miss Clara Thomas, who has been visiting at home, returned to Basalt, Colorado, recently."
James J. Lower, 27, and Clara Thomas 21, both residents of Santa Monica, married there December 26, 1905.

October 1911 "Mrs. Clara Lower and little daughter Louise, who have been spending the summer visiting relatives, left Tuesday afternoon for their home in San Bardino California. Mrs. Lower came here last spring on account of the illness of her mother, Mrs. Minnie Thomas, of south of Vernon and has been visiting a part of the time with her sister Mrs. Geo. Hadlock, of that community."
In 1910 Santa Monica, California, Clara, 25, born in Nebraska, has been married four years to James J. Lower, 31, Ioa. a barber. They have Mary L. 3, born in California.
In 1930 San Bernardino, James, a barber, and Clara J., a practical nurse, have Louise E. Morgan, married but no spouse, 23, with Robert E. 5 and William E. 3.
On September 8, 1937, Mary Louise Morgan, born in Santa Monica, living in SanBernardino, married Jasper C. Bailey, born in Jasper Arkansas, living in San Bernardion, age 31, married in Yuma Arizona.

In 1940 San Bernardino, James - barber and Clara - nurse, are living with Louise 33 and Jasper Bailey 33. Robert 15 and Billy 13 Morgan are with them.
James J. Lower, born Nov 23, 1878 in Iowa, died Feb 20, 1953 in San Bernardino County.

Clara Thomas Lower, 97, a 70-year resident of San Bernardino, died February 22, 1982. A private nurse for over 50 years, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of San Bernardino since 1911. Survived by daughter Louise Bailey of San Bernardino; brother, Fred of Arriba, Colo.; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three great great-step-grandchildren. Buried in Montecito # 63392077.

1942 "Enlisted in the regular navy are ...William Eldon Morgan, 17, son of Mary Louise Bailey of 143 East Fifth street, San Bernardino..."

1949 "The famous Little Brown Church in the Wildwood at Nashua, Iowa, was the scene of a marriage that will be of interest to friends of the bridegroom, William Eldon Morgan, in San Bernardino. The ceremony was an event of Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m., but details were received only recently by Mr. Morgan's relatives. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Bailey of Colton and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Lower of 143 East Fifth street, San Bernardino, by whom he was reared. His bride is the former Ruth Mary Whisler of Washington, Iowa. She is the daughter of Mrs. Louise Whisler. The Rev. Mr. Allen, minister of the church, sealed the vows for the couple, the wedding party numbering the bride's mother and sister, Pauline. Mrs. Whisler acted as matron of honor for her daughter, and the bride's uncle, Earl Morgan, stood with the bridegroom as best man. The bride wore a suit of forest green gabardine with gray accessories. Following the wedding, the couple visited relatives in Washington, Iowa, and returned to Chicago, where they are residing while Mr. Morgan attends an industrial training institute. He left San Bernardino High school during his junior year to enter the Navy and served in the South Pacific, where he was wounded in actlion and received the Purple Heart."
The marriage license said William was 23, Ruth 15, both of Chicago, Illinois.

Fred registered in Yuma County, born September 12, 1895 at Chadron, Nebraska.

"Notice is hereby given that I will not be responsible for any debts contracted by my son, Fred H. Thomas, after this date. MRS. MINNIE A. THOMAS.
Dated August 19, 1915."
Fred H. Thomas married Minnie Kuk in Burlington, Colorado December 20, 1920.

In 1910 Yuma County, Gottleib Keuk born Feb 1853 in Russia, has been married 27 years to Caroline September 1855 in Russia. She's had 14 children, 11 living. Daniel Feb 1882, Mary June 1883 both Nebraska, Frank May 1885, Henry May 1887, Lydia June 1892 - these three South Dakota, Ansel Aug 1894, Paul June 1896, and Minnie July 1897, all three Colorado.

Fred H. and Minnie, 32, born in Colorado, are farming in Vernon precinct in 1930, no chidren.

In 1940 Mildred precinct, Yuma County, Fred, 44 and Minnie 42 have no children.

1980 Arriba happenings - "Fred Thomas was taken to the VA hospital in Denver Monday, by Lola Rush.

JOHN

October 1913 "John Thomas moved his cattle from his mother's place to Miss McDermott's, where he is living."

Ruth Cody and J.W. Thomas married in Yuma County on October 15, 1913.

Frank F. Coby is in Logan County, Kansas in 1895, 50, born in New York, with Jennie (maybe Vogan) Cody 30. They had married in Washington state, and were in Seattle in 1892.
Joseph is 3, Ruth 1.

August 1898 Goodland, Kansas "Last week fire destroyed the granary of Mr. Vogan who lives in the southeast part of the county. The fire was set by children, and 125 bushels of wheat, belonging to Mr. Vogan, and all the household goods of F. Coby stored in the building, were destroyed."

Ruth was in Sherman County, Kansas in 1905, age 11, born in Kansas, with mother J.B. Coby 38 and Joe 13.
In 1910 Sherman County, Jennie B. Coby is 45, born in Missouri. Joseph R. 18 and Matilda R. 16 both born in Kansas, father in New York.
Joseph R. Coby, dying January 10, 1919, is buried in Goodland # 86246334, Pvt 40th Division.

1906 Holt County, Missouri " Miss Nancy Vogan has gone to Edson, Kas., to spend the summer with her aunt, Mrs. Jennie Coby. J. W. Vogan has gone to Spickard, Mo., to see his sister, Mrs. Sarah Curtis. From there he will go to Edson, Kas., where he will do farming and well digging."

Jennie's parents Joseph R. Vogan 1827-1914 and Matilda Jane (Parmer) Vogan 1829-1910 are buried in Goodland.


October 1906

November 1906 "Katie Thomas was threatened with typhoid a few days ago, but is up and around now."

July 1, 1910 "Miss Katie Thomas arrived Wednesday from Ocean Park, Cal. She went out to the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna Thomas, where she will probably remain for a few months."

October 30, 1913 "Now girls you lost another chance when John Thomas jumped into the matrimonial sea. Here's wishing the young couple many happy years.
At the John Thomas charavari Ross Hadlock's team thought if excitement was what was wanted they were 'in' so they jumped astride a barb wire fence and took Ross and Winnie a ride over the posts for a hundred yards."


August 1914 Dewey Ridge items " Miss Katy Thomas went to her home near Vernon Saturday. She has been staying with Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas."

December 1914 "At the newly established home of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Calhoon on the Ainslee ranch Mrs. Calhoon's mother and sister from Vernon, Mrs. Minnie Thomas and Miss Louisa Thomas were guests for the week. The spirit of festivity extended to many other homes and with business suspended, the day was spent in a truly Thanksgiving spirit."

June 1914 "Mrs. Thomas and son, Fred, were visiting John Thomas and wife Sunday."

Fred David Thomas was born July 27, 1914 in Wray to John W. Thomas and Ruth M. Coby - he died May 5, 1990.
Fred is buried in Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho # 95162284, with Zelma Leota (Boetel) Thomas 1913-1991.

John might be the John M. Thomas who proved up 280 acres in section s 20 and 21, 3S 46W - the Mildred area - in 1918.

May 16, 1918

In 1920 John and Ruth are farming in Sherman County, Kansas, with F. David 5, Minnie B. 1, and newborn Arthur.

John is farming in 1930 Sherman County, Kansas, 40, born in Nebraska, with Ruth M. 36 in Kansas. Fred D. 15 was born in Colorado, Minnie Belle 14, Nettie Ella May 8, Mary Alice 5, and Walter James 2 were born in Kansas.

In 1940 Kiowa County, Colorado, John is stock raising, 52, with "Matilda" 47. Ella M. is 18, Walter J. 12, both born in Kansas, and Wilma 7 in Colorado.

John William Thomas 1889-1967, # 110083982 and Matilda Ruth (Coby) Thomas 1893-1974 # 110083942 are buried in Emmett, Gem County, Idaho.

January 18, 1967 "John William Thomas, 77, 236 Hudson St., Nampa, Idaho, died Tuesday at a Caldwell hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Beatty Chapel at Emmett by the Rev. Rollin J. Schaleger of Caldwell. Interment will follow at the Emmelt Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Koy Bowman, C.H. Chetleberger and Virl Warnke.
Mr. Thomas was born Dec. 15, in Shardon, Neb. He married Matilda Ruth Coby on Oct. 14, 1913, in Wray, Colo. He lived in Kansas and Colorado where he ranched until his retirement in 1959. That year, he moved to Nampa where he had since lived. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Bell Fosbinder of Emmett, Mrs. Ellen Christensen of Vale, and Mrs. Wilma Jean Potts of Boise; two sons, David Thomas of Caldwell and Waldo J. Thomas of Emmett; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Lower of San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. Louise Gilmore of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Kate Calhoun and Mrs. Anna Hadlock, both of Wray, Colo.; three brothers, Harry Thomas of Wray and Edward Thomas of Calhan, Colo., and Fred Thomas of Arriba, Colo.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One son and a daughter preceded him in death.


In 1940 Belle Fossbinder, 22, born in Kansas, is farming with William Fossbinder 40 born in Nebraska and daughter Verna 4 born in Colorado. They were in Wichita, Kansas in 1935.


Graveside services for William W. Fosbinder, 71, of 803 S. Wardell, Emmett, who died Wednesday in a Caldwell nursing home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Emmett Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Rollin Schaleger of the Grace Lutheran Church, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mr. Fosbinder was born May 30, 1901 at Perkins, Nebraska. He grew up in Nebraska and married Minnie Bell Thomas Feb. 27, 1934, in Tribune, Kan. They moved to Idaho in 1937 , settling in Ola. In 1941 they moved to Emmett, where they had since lived. He worked for the city for several years.
Survivors include his wife, of Emmett; four daughters, Verna Cummings, Woodburn, Ore., Sharon Harwell and Jody Gillum, both of Emmett, and Glenda Fosbinder, Beaverton, Ore.; two sisters, Emma Hansen and Mable Corneliuis of Grant, Neb.; and four grandchildren.

Minnie Bell (Thomas) Fossbinder 1916-2005 is buried in Gem County, Idaho # 13574093.

Waldo Thomas, 85, of Emmett, passed away in Nampa, Idaho on March 27, 2013 of natural causes.
Waldo was born August 9, 1927 in Goodland, Kansas, to John and Matilda Thomas. He was one of seven children. Waldo spent many years farming and ranching with his family in Kansas, Colorado and Idaho.
He married Lucille Bowman on June 4, 1950 and were married for 55 years. They had three children Steve, Linda and Shari. He worked for Boise Cascade at the Emmett Saw Mill and retired after nearly 40 years of service.
Waldo and his family were active in the Comancheros Western Riding Club and enjoyed many years of riding horses with the group. He also enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. He was always excited to attend any of his grandchildren's activities, spending many evenings and weekends watching their games and dance recitals.
He had a great sense of humor and was definitely a "do-it-yourself" kind of guy, whether it was doctoring his cattle or building his garage. His quick wit and helping hand will be greatly missed.
Surviving Waldo is his son, Steve, of New Plymouth; his daughters, Linda Steude, of Nampa and Shari and (Mike) Knauss, of Meridian; a sister, Jean Potts, of Boise; six grandchildren, Jeff, Lisa, Janae, Derek, Matthew and Lexi; and one great-grandson, Colton; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Services will be held at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett on Saturday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Emmett Cemetery. # 107490631.

Verna Bell Cummings passed away June 23, 2017. She was born in Holly, Colorado, September 2, 1935 to William and Minnie Bell Fosbinder. She and her family moved to Ola, Idaho where they lived on her grandfather's ranch. When she was six years old, the family moved to Emmett, Idaho. Verna attended Wardwell Elementary school and then Emmett High school. She graduated from high school June 6th, 1953, and she and Pete Cummings drove to Winnemucca, Nevada, on June 8th and were married that same night by justice of the peace, John Howard. Their wedding was attended by Pete's parents, Jack and Marie Heisnger. Verna worked as a waitress for several years in Woodburn and Salem, Oregon and at the Blue Onion Restaurant in Santa Barbara, California where Pete was attending Brooks Inst of Photography. They returned to Oregon where Pete worked as a photographer and she went to Phagens Beauty College. She graduated from that school in 1967 and has worked as a hairdresser in several locations and finally at her own shop in her home for the remaining years. She and Pete had 4 daughters, Connie (Richard Phiffner), Deanna, Carla (Richard Yeo), and Candace (Jerry Hagenauer). Deanna died when she was two months old. Two granddaughters born of Richard and Carla Yeo, Jayme (Robert), Jaclyn (Casey), great grandson Harper.
