Henry and Mary Lussenhop, Landsman.

Henry was born Dec 8, 1856 in Hanover Germany to Fred Lussenhop and Sophia Tileman, marrying Mary Graff, daughter of Jacob and Christina Fourbaugh Graff March 13, 1881 in Mason County, Illinois.

Christina was a sister of Margaretha Graff who married August Handke.

Mary, at least, was in Mason County Illinois January 22, 1885, when Fred J. was born.

Henry proved up a quarter in 1893 in 34, 5S 44W - on the Kit Carson county line and next to the church .  In 1899 he claimed a quarter next to his on a Timber Culture.

In 1900 Tazewell County Henry "Loosenhope" born December 1858, Mary February 1862, both Germany, Sophia October 1883 Fredrick January 1885 - both Illinois, Catherine March 1889 and Louis January 1893 both Colorado.

Sophia Henrietta Lussenhop was born October 3, 1883 in Teheran, Mason County, Illinois.

In 1910 Tazewell County Illinois Henry 53 and Mary 48 have been married 29 years, and four kids, all living. With them are Fred Lussenhop 25, Illinois, Louie 17, Colorado -which matches the homestead year, and Albert, 20 Nebraska.

When Louis August Lussenhop registered for WWII, he said he was born January 22, 1893, in Burlington, Colorado.

Louis died September 1, 1973, and Carrie F - October 9, 1900 - Nov 27, 1992 are on a stone in Meadow Lawn Cemetery, Mason County, Illinois.

In the same cemetery are Henry Lussenhop - Dec 8, 1856 - Feb 9, 1933 and Mary Feb 10, 1862 - Jun 1, 1943.

Andrew L. Sauer 88 of Winchester Illinois passed away Friday morning April 9, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 7, 1922 in Winchester the son of the late Andrew E. and Sophia Lussenhop Sauer. He married Vera Louise Funk October 1, 1946 in Champaign. Mr. Sauer was a graduate of Winchester High School, and University of Illinois in 1947 where he lettered in wrestling and was a member of the Wizkids Basketball team at U of I. He was a US Army veteran, serving as a tank unit commander in Italy with the 752 Tank Battalion, A company. He also served in Germany as a platoon leader and demolition, mines and booby traps specialist during the Korean War. Mr. Sauer was a farmer all his life. Serving as President of the Winchester School board for many years, a founding member of the Soil Conservation Society of America, member of the National Cattleman's Association, Elks Club, Moose and Winchester American Legion. He also owned Sauer's Ag Services and was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Winchester. Preceding him in death was his wife Vera in 2005, a sister Violet Sauer Hobbs and two brothers Elmer Sauer and Urban Sauer (surviving wife Dorothy in Winchester). Surviving is his daughter Sue Ann (husband Scott) Anderson of Homewood, IL, and Hunter (wife Theresa) Sauer of Riggston, six grandchildren Abram (wife Anne) Anderson of Rochelle, IL, Hannah (husband Chris) Graver of Chicago, Benjamin (wife Allison) Anderson of Oswego, IL, Danny (wife Beth) Sauer of Arrowsmith, IL, Laura Sauer (husband Jim Ryan) of St. Louis, MO, and Jenny Sauer of Oklahoma City, OK, three great grandchildren Brooke Linda Anderson, Carter Andrew Anderson, and Vera Violet Graver. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Monday April 12, 2010 at St. Mark's in Winchester. Burial will be in Gillham Cemetery where military services will be conducted. The family will meet with friends on Sunday April 11, 2010 from 2 until 5 at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Prayer services will be held at 5 PM.
