Chelsia Claude and Estia (Eastin) Duff, Mildred


In 1900 Mercer County, Missouri, John Duff is 40, with Pola 37, Virgil 18, Sophy 17, Artie E. 14, Otto 14, Claudie 13, Vadie 11, and Scottie seven months, all born in Missouri.

Ester "Easten", 19 married Claudy Duff on June 26, 1908 at Mercer, Missouri.

In 1910 Yuma County, Claud is farming, 23, with Estie 20, and newborn Gerald.

February 25, 1915 Leon Iowa "Mrs. C.C. Duff and two children, of Mildred, Colorado were in Leon Saturday, being en route to Saline Missouri for a visit with relatives."

In 1920 Claude and Estie have Gerald 10, Lotus 8, Raymond B. 2, and Mary A. Eastin 51.



C. Claude Duff proved up a quarter in 10, 3S 46W in 1921, and another in section 2 in 1914.
His witnesses in 1913 were Charles W. Eastin, Nicholas Eastin, James L. Hensley and William Williams, all of Mildred.

In 1930 Yuma County, Claud and Estie have Gerald 20, Lotus 18, Raymond 13, and Ruby L. 9.

In 1940 they have only Raymond.
1944 "C.C. Duff, the Mildred postmaster, and his son Gerald were transacting business in Eckley last Tuesday."
Chelsia Claude Duff, born May 15, 1887 at Merca Missouri, registered for WWII with a Mildred address. His reference was Estia Duff on Mildred.

1958

Claude 1887-1960 is buried in Vernon # 32387132, with Esta A. (Eastin) Duff 1889-1971.

Vera Mae (Haworth) Duff 1912-1998 is buried in Wray, # 32387222, with Gerald A. Duff 1910-2001.
1952 Raymond Duff has been helping Molly Wingfield finish up harvest this week."
"Mr. and Mrs. Molly Wingfield entertained at a picnic in their yard Friday Eevening. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Duff, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Duff and children, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Duff and Leo Eastin, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Spencer and Lydia Cole, Mrs. Jessie Derossett, Bobby and JUudy."

Raymond Elvis Duff 1918-1999 is buried in McAlester, Oklahoma, with Ruby Bell (Graves) Duff 1922-2011.

Ruby Bell Duff, 89, of McAlester, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at a local nursing center. The family will receive friends at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Steve Hammontree and Karl Scifres officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. Pallbearers include Chris Bowling, Logan Bowling, Chris Campbell, Matt Arnold, Dustin Duff and Patrick Brintle. Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons, Jimmy D. McNeelis, Jamie Arnold, Johnny Allen and Jack Brian Palmer.
She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Paris, Ark., to Andrew and Amy (Monks) Graves. When she was just a child, she moved with her family to Pittsburg County and had lived here for more than 80 years. She married Raymond Elvis Duff on Feb. 26, 1944, in McAlester. She worked as a nurse's aide at Mitchell Manor Nursing Home and McAlester Hospital and then operated a daycare in her home for a number of years. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and loved to work out in her flower gardens. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include two daughters, Clara Arnold and James, of McAlester, Linda Palmer and Dale, of Soper; one son, Elvis Duff and Robin, of Mannford; son-in-law, C. J. Allen, of Krebs; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Wilda Graves, of McAlester, Faye Snow and Eugene, of Florida, Jean Martin, of Louisiana. Also, grandchildren, Betty Bowling and Chris, Jamie Arnold and Twila, Suzy Campbell and Chris, Jimmy McNeelis and Abby, Janice Benson, Johnny Allen, Joanna Marlow and Robert, Christina Vesey and Ken, Jack Brian Palmer, Janie Inks and Sherman, Charlotte Avey and Billy, Crystal Stice and Derrick, Nancy Duff. And, 33 great-grandchildren; more than 18 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, stepgreat-great-grandchildren, and special friend and caregiver, Nadine Bonham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, who died on July 28, 1999; her parents; a daughter, Frances Allen; a granddaughter, Jeannie McNeelis; a great-grandson, Bradley Arnold; a great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Cecil Graves, and two sisters, Tilda Tugmon and Ruthie Owens.
