William Franklin and Mary (Noble) Woodcock, Pleasant Valley


In 1860 Camden County, Missouri, Oliver C. Woodcock is 26, Eliza A. 21, with Allen H. 2 and William F. four months.
Daniel Shoemaker married Eliza A. Woodcock August 12, 1862 in Andrew County.
In 1870 Andrew County, Missouri, Franklin Woodcock is 10, Allen 12, both with Dan 50 and Eliza 32 Shoemaker.. George Shoemaker is 14, James 12,, and Ella 3.
(One Andrew County post said Elijah SCOTT's first wife was Emma SHOEMAKER who died 1889. She was the daughter of Oliver Woodcock's widow, Elizabeth ROGERS, and her second husband, Daniel SHEWMAKER. )
In 1870 Jackson County, Iowa, Mary Noble is 4, with parents Charles and Hannah boh 4. George is 17, Harvey 10, and Frederick 7.
In 1880 Saline County, Kansas, Charles 54 and Hannah 56 have Harvey A. 19, Fred C. 17, and Mary A. 14.
C. G. Noble 1825-1915 is buried at the Andrew County Poor Farm, # 84721520.
In 1900 Andrew County, Missouri, William Woodcock born March 1860 in Missouri, married 18 years to Mary L. April 1864 Iowa have Shannon April 1888, Floyd Jan 1891, Florence April 1894, John May 1896, and Lottie A. May 1900, all kids born in Missouri.

In 1910 Yuma County, next to Austin Edwards, William F. Woodcock 50 born in Missouri, Mary 43 Iowa, have Florence C. 13, John H. 13, Alberta L. 10, and Darwin A. 6, all five born in Missouri.

November 11, 1912 "Notice is hereby given that William F. Woodcock, of Ford, Colorado, who on January 1909. made homestead entry No. 02171 for the west half northwest quarter and west half southwest quarter, section 11, township 4 north, range 46 west of principal meridian, has filed notice of intention to make three year proof to establish claim to the land above described before the U. S. Commissioner at Yuma, Colorado on the 11th day of November, 1912. Claimant names as witnesses : Harley Davison, Garry Brower, John W. Edwards, of Ford, Colorado, and Carl C. McNichols of Yuma, Colorado."

In 1920 Yuma County, William is 59, Mary L. 53, Harvey S. 30, L. Alberta 19, and A. Darwin 13. From the neighbors, it looks like they're next to the Hill Top school.
Grandma Woodcock
The 1922 atlas has W.F. Woodcock owning the west quarter of 11, 4N 46W - with two residences on the north side, very near a school. The Wm. R. McKelvey residences were only a quarter-mile east.


July 20, 1950 "Mr. and Mrs. Rex Spelts and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Woodcock of Sacramento, California were called to Yuma this week end by the death of Grandma Woodcock. The funeral was held in Yuma Monday afternoon."

Edna married Albert Graham in 1899 Andrew County, and they ended up in Yuma County, a few miles from the Hill Top school.
HARVEY
Harvey Shannon Woodcock registered for WWI with a Holyoke address, born Nov 9, 1889 at Savanna Missouri, working for David Clarkson - this is likely the one living "just west of the Hill Top school house., not Clarkson.
In 1930 Yuma County, Shannon Woodcock is farming. 40, mother Mary 63 widowed, John H. 33, and Alvin D. 23 brother are with him.

FLORENCE
Florence Woodcock married Ernest Edwards Feb 23, 1916, recorded in Phillips County.
In 1920 Ernest and Florence have Dorris, 1.
March 1929 "Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Edwards and children Doris and Elvin spent the week end with Floyd Woodcock and family before going to their new home near Wauneta, Colorado."
In 1930 Ernest and Florence are living on South Albany in Yuma, with Doris 11, and Elvin 5. They're living with brother John W. 53 born in Illinois, and brother R. Calvin 49, widowed, Illinois. None have occupations.

May 1928 "Mrs. C.F. Woodcock and Mrs. Florence Edwards were in Haxtun Friday, visiting with Mrs. Edwards' sister, Mrs. Alberta Diebert and children. The Diebert children, who have been quite ill with flu-pneumonia, are reported some better."
John and Cal Edwards were visiting their brother Ernest Sunday."
November 1928 "Mrs. C.F. Woodcock and son Shannon were overnight guests at the home of the lady's daughter, Mrs. E.E. Edwards."

ALBERTA
Mr. and Mrs. Verl Deibert and sons Donald and Ronald visited in 1929.
In 1930 Phillips County, Verl Diebert is 27, a farm laborer, born in Kansas, with Alberta 29, Missouri. Donald is 7, Ronald 3, and Lovada W. six months.
March 13, 1930
1937 Yuma Verl Deibert was assesed a fine of $5 and costs by Justice Ramsey for disturbance Saturday Night.
June 13, 1963 Yuma "Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Hines and Mrs. Bernice Black and Sharry motored to Haxtun Saturday to attend a funeral of Mrs. Hines' cousin, Mr. Verl Deibert.
Lottie A. Deibert 1900-1981 is buried in Thornton, Colorado # 45153944.
Verl G. Deibert 1903-1963 is buried in Haxtun # 5937202.

Ronald Leroy Deibert was born Jan 16, 1927 at Haxtun to Verl G. Deibert and Lottie A. Woodcock, dying 1994. He's buried in Delta, Colorado # 49827156.
Donald E. Deibert 1923-1964 buried in Newton County Arkansas might be the one from Colorado. # 6448412.

JOHN
November 1911 "John Woodcock, Jr., has been very sick with typhoid fever and pneumonia the past week."
John Herbert Woodcock registered for WWI with a Holyoke address, born June 23, 1896 at Savanah, Missouri, also workin gfor David Clarkson.

Heirs were sister Florence Z. Edwards of Denver, Alberta Deibert of Denver sister, brother Alvin D. Woodcock of Bryte, California. Charles Floyd Woodcock brother was deceased. Geneva L. Spelts of Sacramento was a niece, Delbert M. Woodcock of Broderick California was a nephew. Sister Edna B. Graham was deceased. Niece was Mary E. Diercks of East St. Louis, niece Viola Clawson of Yuma, nephew Clarence A. Graham of Franktown, Colorado, nephew Shannon Eugene Graham of Anchorage, Alaska, niece Vivian Lefors of Mt. View, Alaska, niece Betty Russell of Julesburg. Carmen L. Monk niece deceased, and nephew Lester L. Monk of Tenino Washington. Grandniece Lita Ward of Roseburg Oregon and Edna L. Jorgensen of Oral South Dakota.

Alvin Woodcock married Eva Randolph April 18, 1931, recorded in Yuma County.

"It is thought now that Delbert Woodcock had typhoid fever instead of apendicitiis at the commencement of his illness.... This little chap is only 5 years old, and has surely had his share of suffering. It is thought now that he will not be able to be brought home by Christmas."

In 1966, when John Woodcock's estate was being settled, Charles Floyd Woodcock was deceased, and his children were Geneva L. Spelts of 4851 Euclid Avenue, Sacramento, and Delbert M. Woodcock of 840 Douglas Drive, Broderick, California.

January 21, 1975 Fremont California " About 25 members of a Japanese dry cleaning association will be in Fremont Feb. 3 to visit State Cleaners. 38340 Glenmoor Drive. The group comes to visit Northern California's top dry cleaning plants every year for about 10 days, according to Leroy Spelts, owner of.State Cleaners."

November 12, 1981 "Word was received that a former resident of the Pleasant Valley community, Delbert Woodcock, died of a heart attack last week at the age of 57. He lived in Sacramento, California. A surviving sister, Mrs. Geneva Spelts, resides inn Fremont, California."

March 29, 1990 "Geneva Woodcock Spelts passed away at Freemont, California after a long illness. She was a former resident of Pleasant Valley."

August 7, 1957 San Mateo California
"Principals in a campus romance, Christine Veronica Diller of this city and Mack Spelts of Sacramento, have plans for September nuptials.
Mr. and Mrs. Neal Vinton Diller of Hacienda avenue have announced the engagement of their younger daughter and her forthcoming marriage to the son or Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Spelts of the state capital. it will be an informal ceremony on September 21 at Grace Lutheran church.
Christine and her fiance met in Stockton while she was studying at College of the Pacific and he was a student at nearby Stockton college. After their marriage, they will live in the San Joaquin valley city, where Mack is employed.
A graduate of San Mateo High school, Christine majored in journalism during her two years at COP. Her sister is Mrs. Gerald Bathen of Minneapolis."

"Mrs. Leah W. Diller, 65, of 421 Terrace Way, San Mateo, died on Friday at Mills Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and had lived here for 17 years. Mrs. Diller was the widow of the late Neal V. Diller. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dallice Bathen of Los Altos and Mrs. Christine Spelts of Fremont; a brother, James M. Walker of Flushing, New York; "
