August 1942 "Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Neuschwanger and daughters and Jesse Gregory spent the weekend
in Fort Morgan and Boulder. Mr. Gregory stayed in Fort Morgan to visit with his daughter, Mrs. David Moates,
and the Neuschwangers visited with Mr. Neuschwanger's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nuuschwanger.
Mary Jean and Marion Neuschwanger are doing the chores at the Floyd Neuschwanger home while
they are in Boulder."
June 1949 "On June 19, which was the 23rd wedding anniversary of the bride's parents,
Lois Elaine Neuschwanger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd F. Neuschwanger, and Harold D. Lasley,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lasley of Meeker, were united in marriage at a beautiful wedding at
the Presbyterian church in Eckley. The double ring ceremony was read by Rev. Moore G. Bell.
Betty Jo Ballard presided at the piano and acompanied the vocalist, Jane O'Dell of Lamar,
a former roommate of the bride at the University of Colorado.
The bride was escorted down an aisle of white carpet by her father.
Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. The maid of honor, Wanda Bowen of Denver,
wore a taffeta formal of earthenware. Patty Neuschwanger, the bride's sister,
was bridesmaid and wore a light blue taffeta formal.
Betty Lou Cain, in a light green formal, and Clair Sewell lighted the tapers.
Kathleen Roys, dressed in a pink satin formal, and Danny Neuschwanger, in dark trousers and
white coat, were ring bearers. The groom was attended by Keith Ball, of Meeker.
Ushers were Delbert and Dean Bowen of Denver. All wore white carnation boutonnieres.
A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Vern Ballard home.
The three tier wedding cake was cut in the traditional manner by the young couple and serve
d by Jane O'Dell Mrs. Richard Brown of Denver, poured and Mrs. Florence Halstead had charge of the
guest book. Afterward the bride and groom left on a week's wedding trip to southwestern Colorado.
They will spend the summer in Meeker and then go to Boulder where the groom will resume his
studies at the University of Colorado.

Eckley schools, and small daughter, Barbara are visiting friends and relatives in Colorado.
They came from New Bedford, Massachusetts, and will spend some time at the homes of Mrs. John Neuschwanger,
and Mrs. Floyd Newschwanger. They were Saturday afternoon visitors at the home of Mrs. Viola Stevens
and Nadine. Mrs. Salmond stayed with Mrs. Stevens while teaching in Eckley. "
September 1945 "Teachers for the grade school this year will be Mrs. Wilma Exum 1st and 2nd grades;
Miss June of Wray, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades; and Mrs. Duncan Salmond, who comes from Osborne, Kan., 6th.
7th and Sth grades. School opened Monday for registration and reallv got down to business Tuesday.
The high school will be handled by P. R. Bauder as principal, formerly of Armel,
assisted by Mr. Clarence Rorgers and Wilda Rockwell of Wray as instructors."
November 1945 " P. T. A. program Friday night in the grade school auditorium was enjoyed by a small
audience. Apparently this meeting was not well advertised as the crowd was very small.
However the program was excellent and well rendered under the supervision of Mrs. Salmond."
1946 "Jess Gregory arrived via bus Saturday from Osborne, Kan., for an extended visit with his
daughters Mrs. Floyd Neuschwanger and Mrs. Duncan Salmond and families."
January 1946 "Mrs. Ethel Ballard was hostess to the Entre Nous circle at their regular meeting Thursday.
Following the business session delicious refreshments were served to the 9 members and 2 guests,
Mrs. Herbert Oman and Mrs. Duncan Salmond. Mr. Herbert Oman, recently released from the service,
is the new high school teacher, beginning his duties at the start of this semester. Mr. and Mrs. Oman and baby Shirley Kay. have been lucky enough to find living accommodations near the school."

Duncan Scott Salmon 1906-1980 was an electrical engineer and worked for the FAA.
MARY
1934 Eckley "Bert Moran, well known farmer residing north of Eekley had an
unfortunate accident last Thursday while operating a corn sheller. Mr. Moran's
hand was caught in the corn sheller and before the machinery could be
stopped his hand was crushed so badly that it was necessary to amputate it.
Mr. Moran was brought to the Wray Hospital last Thursday afternoon. A
specialist came from Greeley and the right arm was amputated at the elbow
Thursday night. Mr. Moran is reported to have passed through the ordeal very
well and unless unforseen complications develop, is expected to recover. Mr.
Moran is said to be about 45 years old. He is married and has several
children. The accident was a most tistressing one and his many friends
sympathize with him in his misfortune."

Funeral services were held at the Eckley Presbyterian church last Thursday afternoon at
2 o'clock for John Abraham Neuschwanger, a former Eckley resident, who died in Washington Hospital in
Centralia, Wash., March 2, 1963 at the age of 83 years and nine months.
He was the eldest child of John and Mary Neuschwanger and was born at Alton, Kan., on June 23, 1879.
He grew to manhood in Osborne County, Kan., and was married to Carrie Bock at Osborne on September 3, 1902.
Seven boys and one daughter were born to this couple, all of whom survive.
The children are Ray of Grand Junction; twin sons, Lloyd of Wauconda, Wash.,
and Floyd of Eckley; Victor of Durango; Ivan and Orville of McMinnville, Ore.; Weldon of Olympia, Wash.,
and Leona Henderson of Ontario, Ore. One daughter died at birth.
Mrs. Carrie Neuschwanger died on June 21, 1922, at Eckley.
Mr. Neuschwanger was married to Olive Gregory on April 1, 1923, at Yuma. To this union twin children
were born. The son, Marion lives at Finn Rock, Ore., and the daughter, Mary Jane Mason, at Bellingham, Wash.
In 1912 Mr. Neuschwanger took a homestead in Yuma county and resided there until 1944 when he and his
family moved to Lewis, County, Wash., where he continued his residence until his death.
While they resided in Colorado the family attended the Presbyterian church. After moving to Centralia,
Mr. and Mrs. Neuschwanger joined the Church of the Nazarene and when a new church was built at Centralia
in 1961 he worked 100 days on the church building, He is survived by his wife, Olive;
his eight sons and two daughters; eighteen grandchildren: one brother, David of Eckley; and three sistersm
Mary Peterson of Burlington, Ella Peterson of Bennett, and Rosa May of Boulder."
