MARY'S FAMILY

September 1914 " B. T. Wray of Hopkins, Missouri, arrived today and will visit his brother, Ed Wray, of north of Robb a few days. Mr. Wray reports the crops in Nodaway county as being fair. High water is bothering them just now."

April 1916 Eckley "Alvin New and wife from Hopkins, Mo., have moved to this locality and are domiciled at the home of Mrs. New's brother, Ed Wray.
Ed Wray is erecting an eight room house on his ranch northeast of town. J. R. Thompson is acting as head carpenter for Mr. Wray."

March 1917 ""J. R. Thomas sold his farm of 320 acres, which is located eighteen miles northwest of Wray, Friday to Alvin D. New, of the same locality. Mr. New and family have been residing with Mrs. New's brother, Ed Wray, the past year."

"Edward Percy Wray passed away at the Wray hospital Sunday, Oct. 20, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 5 days. Mr. Wray was born November 16, 1863. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the church in Eckley at 2 p. m. and the remains were laid to rest in the Eckley cemetery. Mr. Wray was a patient at the Wray hospital only a few days. He had resided in this state some 35 years and he had been a resident of Eckley for a number of years. Mr. Wray is survived by five brothers all living in Missouri, and by two sisters, the Mesdames New, one of whom resides in Wray and one in Denver. Sincere sympathy is extended the bereaved relatives."

"Edward Percy Wray, 76, died at the Wray Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 20, following a stroke at his homestead ten miles north of Eckley. He was a familiar character of both Wray and Eckley and had many friends in both places. He is survived by five brothers all living in Missouri and two sisters, one of this county and one of Denver, Colorado. One brother and both sisters came to Wray for the funeral services on Tuesday at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church at Eckley with Rev. MeCluggage as minister."

October 24, 1940 Waverly items "Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rutledge attended the funeral of Ed Wray at Eckley Tuesday."

Yuma: March 1911 "J. R. Clement and family and O. E. Forell of Chester, Nebraska, arrived Saturday and will make their future home in good old Yuma county."

July 1912 "Mr. and Mrs. Smith Ketchum, of Chester, Nebr., arrived in Yuma Tuesday for a visit with their nephew and niece, J. R. Clement, and family, and Miss Mary Clement."

Also July 1912 "Miss Mary Clement and her niece, Miss Gertrude Clement, returned last Saturday from an extended visit with relatives and friends at Chester, Nebraska."

December 1912 "Emily "Dickerson", who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. J. R. Clement, the past four weeks, left Monday evening for her home in Stanton, Nebrasla/

April 1914 "J. R. Clement this week commenced the erection of a two-story house on his farm, west of town, and will move to the same as soon as the building is completed."

May 1914 "Mrs. Rachel Feeney, who had been a guest at the home of her niece, Mrs. J. R. Clement, departed last week for her home at Edmund, Oklahoma."
May 1914 "Rueben Dickinson, who had been a guest at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Clement, departed Monday evening for his home at Stanton , Nebr .

March 1915 "On last Saturday County Clerk MeKinney issued a marriage license to Nelson G. Tribbett and Miss Gertrude Clement, both parties of Yuma."

October 1914 "Gimeson & Clement sold a quarter section of land, twenty-two miles northeast of Yuma, to C. F. Clark, of Smith County, Kansas, this week. Mr. Clark and family will move to Colorado next spring."

November 1914 "Miss Gertrude Clement, who is teaching at Benkleman, Nebr., spent Saturday and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Clement."

John's mother had died in 1917.


Mr. William Clement of Yuma married Miss Edith M. Pexler of Otis, February 6th, 1926.


In August 1927 District teachers included in 38 were Mrs. Athena Clement, rural school, Eckley and Norma Currence, rural school, Wray. , , .
In District 42, Grace Dcering, rural school, Yuma, and Mrs. Viola New, rural school, Yuma. „ February 1937 "A. D. New of Eckley neighborhood stopped at The Rattler office one day recently to have three names placed on our subscription list. The names are A. D. New, his daughter Mrs. Athena Clement of Otis, and another daughter, Mrs. V. L. Probasco of Eckley.

September 1931 "Ed Wray held a watermelon picnic Sunday at his home north of town. Those who enjoyed the occasion were Carl Kidney and two sons, Jim Probasco and family. Perry Probasco, Clarence New, Nobleand Parks Neubanks, Mr. North, Jack Finn add two nephews, the Mr. Dalrymple, of Wray and Denver; Truman Love of Denver, Mr. and Mrs. John Clement and son, Jack, Mrs.lrene Bowen and two children, Miss Minnie New, Mrs. Alvin New, Miss Mary Rehm, Miss Betty Berryman, Misses Velma, Elsie and Paulin« Probasco and Miss Olive New."

September 1932 "Mr. and Mrs. A. D. New and Edith, J. D. Clement and Ed Wray were afternoon callers at Guy Probasco’s."

They're farming in Platner precinct, Washington County, Colorado in 1940.

John Dickinson Clement registered for WWII in Denver, living at 3319 Mead St. born April 22, 1896 at "Leigh", Nebraska. His reference was Frank Dickinson of 2300 S. Clayton in Denver (probably a cousin or uncle)
