Clarence and Edith (Chase) Cassens,
Armel.

Clara Edith Chase was born in Ohio in 1880, the second daughter of Leslie W. and Malinda (Armstrong) Chase. She came to Colorado with her parents in 1887 and grew up on the family homestead just south of the Rosencrans ranch in the Armel area.
Clarence H. Cassens was born in Nebraska in 1880, the son of Robert and Ellenora (Altig) Cassens. He came to Colorado with his parents and siblings in 1889. The Cassens family settled about a mile northeast of what would become the town of Armel.
Clarence Cassens and Edith Chase were married on June 7, 1905 and lived with Robert Cassens until Robert died in 1906. About 1911 Clarence and Edith moved to "Edith's homestead" adjoining her parents land five miles northeast of Armel, Clarence and Edith had four children: Winn, Alvin, Freda and Norma.
Clarence died in 1942 and Edith in 1959, they are buried in the Armel Cemetery beside Robert and Ellenora Cassens.

Norma L. (1912-2008) married Caleb Eckberg
in 1936.
