SPAFFORD'S FAMILY

In 1850 Wayne County, Pennsylvania, Rufus Geer is 75, Azuba 57, Rufus 28, Levi 21, Lydia L. 19, Almira 16, Eldad 14, and Hiram 11.

Rufus Geer died on July 11, 1870, and is buried in Lake Como, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, per # 21931538.
Azubah (Woodmansee) Geer dying 1864 is also buried there, # 21931202.

Rufus Geer, Jr., 1820-1864 is Spafford's father # 118800818, and Jane Kingsbury 1820-1852 his mother, buried in Lake Como # 21931213.



In 1870 Wayne County, Levi Geer is 42, Elisabeth 26, Rufus 93, Hiram 31, SPAFFORD 18, and Frank L. 9.

NELLIE'S FAMILY

In 1870 Wayne County, Pennsylvania, George Shopp is 35, Mary A. 34, Harry 12, Ezma 11, Charles 9, Nellie 4, Luella 3, and George A. 2.

In 1875 Delaware County, New York, Georeg Shopp is a butcher, 40, with Mary 38, Henry 18, Isma 16, Charles C. 14, Nellie 11, Luella 8, and Georganna 7.

In 1880 Wayne County, Pennsylvania, George Shopp is a laborer, 45, born in France, with Mary A. 45 in New York. Emma Griffin, daughter, 21, is married, but no spouse, Charles C. 19 a laborer, Nellie E. 14, Luella A. 13, and Ethel 11.

(Luella Griffin, marrying Alexander about 1880, is buried with him in Wayne County 1867-1929 # 430487771."

In 1900 Yuma, George Shopp born Sept 1834 in France is a stationary engineer for the railroad (Probably operating a water well for the locomotives), Mary A. June 1835, Charlie Griffin born May 1884 in Pennsylvania is a printer, adopted, and Hary C. Roberts, grandchild born in Nebraska are with them.

April 1900 Yuma school items "Charlie Griffin has accepted a position at the Schramm house. We are sorry to lose him."

August 1900 "Charlie Griffin, who has been working on the Platte Valley Gazette at Fort Morgan, returned to home Monday evening.

July 1902 " Charlie Griffin now has a permanent pumping station ; Corona."
1903 Yuma "Charlie Griffin had charge of the Intermediate of the school yesterday. Miss Owen being absent at the funeral of Mr. Compton."

March 1900 " Orders were granted declaring Harry Roberts, an infant, the adopted child cf George J. Shopp and wife."

August 1898 "Jay Geer of Ft. Morgan is visiting his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Shopp."

December 1898

February 3, 1899 "Mrs. S. B. Geer of Ft. Morgan is nursing her mother, Mrs. George Shopp, who is quite low with the grippe."


November 1900 "Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Geer and son, Gerald, are visiting Mrs. Geer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Shopp."
November 1901 Yuma "S. B. Geer has commenced an addition to Bob Boyd's residence."
December 1901 "S.B. Geer of Fort Morgan has moved to Yuma. He moved to the residence recently vacated by the Col Kissh."

S.B. is doing carpentry and glass work in Yuma 1900-1902.

April 1906 "K.S. Klein, S. B. Geer and Geo. Bingaman went to Otis Saturday morning. The two latter gentlemen will be busy during the next two weeks building an office, lumber sheds, etc. for the Otis Lumber and Supply Co. of which Mr. Klein is manager."

(In 1940 Orange County, New York, Claud Shopp is 79, born in Pennsylvania, living with Edith Griffin 60 born in Pennsylvania and her son Walter 23 born in Pennsylvania.)

In 1910 Yuma, on Railroad Street, Spofford is 58, married 29 years to Nellie, 44, both born in Pennsylvania. She's had three kids, one living. They're living with George Shopp, 75, German, immigrating in 1853, and his grandson Harry E. Shopp 14 born in Nebraska.
Also with them is Anna C. Felton, 56, a visitor.

Spafford B. Geer 1852-1938 is buried in Yuma # 49997182.



Nellie E. (Shopp) Geer 1866-1952 is buried in Yuma # 49997181.



George Jay Geer is buried in Yuma # 499971979.

GERALD

Cora proved up a quarter in section 33, 5N 48W in 1913.


Gerald Frank Geer 1882-1958 # 49997180 is buried in Yuma.



So is Cora M. (Tribbett) Geer 1887-1968 # 49997178.
