In 1900 John W. is 41, with Emma 37, in Decatur County, Iowa - with Sarah E. 16, William S. 14, Mary R. 11, Horace B. 10, Minnie S. 7, Chas. A. 5, Alberta 3, and Sylva E. six months.
In 1910 Vernon precinct William J. is 51, Emily 46, with Mary 22, James 20, Minnie 17, Andrew 15, Alberta 13, Sylvia 10, and Carl 5.
Levi M. Kindred 27, and Sophia 26 have Audie M. 5, Hazel 3, and Helen one, all girls born in Missouri.
Next household is James A. 22, with Alpha 19 and Roscoe one, both born Colorado. James Archie Kindred and Alpha Shaffer were married August 28, 1908 in Mercer County, Missouri.
November 1913 Archie Kindred of Mildred filed for homestead of land in 2, 3S 46W and 35, 2S 46W - witnesses William D. Burrell, Harv J. Hill, Rolla G. Eastin and Nelson Stanbrough.
He registered in Yuma County, saying he was born August 13, 1888 in Saline, Missouri, had a wife and three children, and was employed in "transmission mail " by the U.S.
Archie 1887-1918 is buried in Mildred Cemetery.
In 1920 Logan County Alpha, 30 is widowed, with Roscoe F. 11, Raymond F. 8, Una F. 4, and Lucile L. 2. No occupation.
Alpha Kindred married Peter VanZuyen March 16, 1921, and they're in Gooding County Idaho in q9e0, with four Kindred Roscoe F. 21, Raymond F. 18, Una F. 14, and Lucile L. 12.
Una F. married James Howard Malone Sr. - buried in Gooding, Idaho.

1915 "Mr. and Mrs. Sherm Kindred, of Center precinct, are the proud parents of a a dainty little baby girl who arrived to bless them on Thursday, October 21st."
John proved up two quarters in 9, 2S 47W in 1917 - and Wm. S. two quarters in 18 and 19, 2S 47W, also in 1917.
Archie Kindred 1887-1918 is buried in the Mildred cemetery, Yuma County.
In 1920 Center precinct John W. 62 and Emily C. 56, have Alberta 23, James A. 20, and Carl C. 15.
William S. is 34, Elsie 33, with Bertha O. 13, Clarence O. 11, Thelma F. 8, Mildred I. 4, Wilma 2, and Evylyn D. four months.
Sylvia Kindred married Paul A. Dunafon September 11, 1927. (this is wrong - the 1920 census has them in Center precinct, Sylvia, 20, Paul 23, with Carl W. one year old.) The Rattler of September 13, 1917 says "Paul A. Dunafon of Yuma and Miss Sylvia A. Kindred of Happyville were united in marriage here on Tuesday of this week by County Judge I.L. Barker."
Nicholas E. Kindred - January 7, 1850 - May 29, 1931 and Margaret Elen (Eastin) Kindred - Oct 28, 1856 - April 17, 1834 are buried in Glendale Cemetery, Vernon.
Daughter Nancy Edith Kindred, born Mar 21, 1883 in Harrison County, Missouri, marriedNelson Stanbrough Aug 16, 1902 in Harrison County, Missouri. In 1910 Vernon precinct Nelson Stambraugh 33 and Nancy Edith 26 have Delyn 5, Delbert 4, and Dorothy 3.
Leon Reporter, Leon, Iowa Thursday, September 4, l924 EMMA CATHARINE WEDDLE was born at Indianapolis, Indiana, September 6, l863, died at her home in Pleasanton, Iowa, August 23, l924, age 60 years, 11 months and l7 days. She was united in marriage to J.W. KINDRED, February 20, l88l. To this union were born eleven children, four of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her companion, seven children; MRS. ELIZABETH HAGAN, Flemington, Mo.; MRS. EDITH MAARS, Mound City, Mo.; SHERMAN, JAMES, CARL and MINNIE KINDRED and MRS. SYLVIA DUNAFON, of Pleasanton, Iowa; ANDREW, of Yuma, Colorado; and MRS. ALLIE JACOBS, of Rosala, Kansas. She is also survived by a brother, A.J. WEDDLE, of Cainsville, Mo.; and two sisters, MRS. JAMES MCDONALD, of Peculiar, Mo. and MRS. ANDREW CURIER, of Kansas City, Mo. and other relatives and a host of dear friends. She endured much suffering with patience and kindness. In l9l7, she was converted and baptized into the Church of the Nazarene, in which faith she died. Funeral services were held in the park at Pleasanton, conducted by W.L. Morey, and the body laid to rest in the Hamilton Cemetery. |
John is widowed in 1930 Decatur County, Iowa, living with William S. 44, Elsie F. 41. Clarence 20 and Thelma 18 were born in Iowa, Mildred 14, Wilma 12, Evelyn 10 born in Colorado.
CLARENCE O. KINDRED Clarence O. Kindred, son of William Sherman and
Elsie Hutchinson Kindred, was born in Pleasanton, Iowa, on December 12,
1909, and died on July 18, 1990, at the Clarke County Hospital in
Osceola, Iowa, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 6 days. As a small child, his family homesteaded near Yuma, Colorado. After five years, they returned to Pleasanton, Iowa, where he finished high school. On March 5, 1934, he was married to Beulah Faye Hagan at Princeton, Missouri. To this union four children were born. They celebrated their 56h anniversary this spring. Clarence loved the land and spent his adult life farming in Decatur County, most of it near Van Wert. He retired and moved to Osceola in the fall of 1973, where he enjoyed his grandchildren and all their activities. Preceding his in death were his parents; a son Ronald Gene in 1956; four sisters, Thelma Agnew, Evelyn Parson, Wilma Evans, and Dorothy Mae Kindred; one infant brother; and a special nephew, James Evans. Survivors include his widow, Faye of Osceola; two daughters; Reva Beers and husband Edward, Leon, Neva Lee McDOWELL and husband Orval, Osceola; one son, Gale, and wife Donna, Osceola; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Driskill, Leon, Iowa, and Mildred Hagan and husband Lloyd, Apache Junction, Arizona; brother-in-law Lloyd Parson, Houston, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. --------------------------------

William Frank Stanbrough (with probably two records in the Colorado Department of Corrections) is buried in Florence, Colorado - born in Missouri August 13, 1883 - February 1956 obit didn't mention wife, but he had one cousin, Mrs. Lloyd Kindred of Pueblo.

March 8, 1900 - Leon Reporter, Leon Iowa - "the following marriage licenses have been issued the past week.... Samuel Hagan, 19 to Elizabeth Kindred, 18"
In 1900 Mercer County, Missouri Samuel and Elizabeth, newlyweds, are farming, with Port Leslie, 19, a farm laborer, boarding with them.
Jacob 43 and Hira 35 in Mercer County in 1900 have Gracie 11, Everett 8, and Viola 2. Hira has had four kids, all living, so they have to be Samuel's parents.
On the same page is James Hagen - March 1859 and Anna May 1864, with seven kids still living = Alice 15, Clara 13, Thurman 11, Earl 8, Leo 6, May 3 and George 1, all born in Missouri.
In 1910 Jacob, Hira, Everett and Ada are still in Mercer County

1914 "Mrs. Kindred and Mrs. Hagan started to Missouri Thursday for a three weeks' visit."
1914 "Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hagan, of some eighteen miles south of Yuma, left Monday evening for a month's visit with relatives and friends at Decatur, Iowa."
1914 "Sam Hagan is suffering with a boil on his jaw."
1915 "Sam Hagan has his new barn nearly completed."
Samuel Hagan proved up on two quarters in 4 and 5, 2S 47W in 1920, Jacob 320 acres in 3 and 4, 2S 47W, in 1917.
In 1920 Center precinct Samuel and Elizabeth, both 38 born in Missouri, are farming.
In 1930 and 1940 they're back in Harrison County, Missouri, farming.
Samuel Hiram "Sam" -April 17, 1881 - September 1947 and Hannah Elizabeth (Kindred) January 8, 1882 - April 13, 1963 Hagan are buried in Lloyd Cemetery, Harrison County, Missouri. (wonder if the Meltons buried there are the family of Witherbee, Yuma County)
