parents, Mr. and Mrs. George H. Poe, in Mercer county,
Illinois, till 1887 when the family moved to Colorado
and located in what is now Phillips county.
On the 21day of Nov., 1890, at the family home in
Phillips county, she was united in marringe with
A. O. Cauble of this county. To them were born five
children, two boys and three girls,
who survive their mother.
She united with the Presbyterian Church at Alexis,
I11., when 17 years of age and lived a oonsistent
Christian life. She was of a most happy, cheerful disposition and made friends of all with whom she became acquainted.
She was always an active leader and worker in every movement that had for its object the bettering
in any manner the condition of the people among whom she lived. In apparent good health and
without any warning called from life, her death was a great shock to her friends
and especially to the members of her own family. She was busily engaged about her house work
when apparently without any warning she fell and expired without a struggle.
Some of the little children went to the home of their uncle A. B. Pollock, and informed him
that their mother had fallen and they could not get her up. When he reached the house
she was dead. Her husband who had left home in the early morning to hunt some horses,
returned within a few hours, but not in time to again
see his wife alive. She leaves to mourn her death,

better world. After his marriage he moved to Phillips oounty, Coio.,
where be resided four years when he removed to Mercer county, I11.
After residing there two years he once more moved to Phillips county, Colo.,
where he resided until his death. In June 1890 he united with the
Presbyterian Church and continued to make that his church home until his
death. During his residence in Phillips County he made many warm friends.
He was a good neighbor, a loving husband and a kind father.
During his last illness be suffered much pain but even this did not make
him forget family and his God. He lay with his hands clasped and his eyes turned heavenward
realizing that the end would soon come. Then calling his wife to his bedside he kissed her
good bye and passed away. His wife, children and aged mother who
survive him have the sympathy of all in their bereavement."
