Franklin S. L. Hogsett, Charles L. Hogsett , 5 North 43 West

One tree said Charles Lee Hogsett was born May 21, 1881 in Fremont County, Iowa, and died March 5, 1952 in Adams County, Nebraska.  There's a Charles L. Hogsett 1881-1952 and Bessie G. Hogsett 1893-1985 in the Juanita Cemetery, Adams County.

In 1930 Adams County Nebraska - on the same census page as Charles and Bessie, is Joseph Robinson - who was in the same Witherbee area.....

 


Charles L. Hogsett, 22, born in Page County, Iowa, married Nora Stratton on 15 May 1901 in Otoe County, Nebraska. His parents were N. B. and Eliza Hogsett.

(In 1900, FL??Nn C Stratton 41 Head May B Stratton 36 Wife Norah Stratton 15 Daughter Dilla E Stratton 10 Daughter John F Stratton 7 Son Rund Stratton 4 Son Floyd Stratton 1 Son.

Nora later married Ralph Martin, son Divitt Cardwin Martin being born 24 Jan 1917 in Nehawka, Nebraska, dying 23 Jul 1991.

Charles proved up 320 acres in sections 3 and 4, 5N 43W, (Yuma County) and section 32, 6N 43W (Phillips County) in 1916.

Charles Lee Hogsett registered for WWI in Holyoke, farming, born May 23, 1881, wife Bessie Grace Hogsett.

C. L. Hogsett and Bessie G. Robinson married 22 Dec 1915 in Yuma County.


Bessie was in Yuma County in 1910, Clarence Robinson 25 Head Joseph A. Robinson 52 Father Hellena Robinson 56 Mother Burton Robinson 19 Brother Bessie Robinson 16 Sister Mabel Robinson 14 Sister.

In 1930 Adams County, Nebraska, Charles Hogsett is a farm laborer, 49, Bessie Hogsett 37 Wife, and Wilbur Hogsett 5 Son.

Wilbur W. Hogsett, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home, on November 4, 2009 at his home in Harvard, Nebraska.
Wilbur was 89 years of age having been born on November 29, 1924 to Charles Lee and Bessie Grace (Robinson) Hogsett in Lamar, Nebraska.

Wilbur served in the United States Navy during World War II from November 20, 1942 to December 12, 1945. Wilber raised his family in Illinois while he worked as a welder for Caterpillar Company after retiring he moved to Harvard, Nebraska

Wilbur was a member of the VFW Club and Moose Lodge. Wilbur was proud of his grandsons.

Wilbur survivors are daughters, Betty Jean Tewell-Parr of Mountainburg, Arkansas and JoAnn Groomes of Gurnee, Illinois; and son, Wayne Charles Hogsett of Alma, Arkansas and a host of friends and relatives,

Wilbur was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents, Charles and Bessie Hogsett, great-grandson, and sister. 

In 1910 Yuma County, Franklin is farming, living alone, 22.

He's next to Norwood Hogsett, 54, born in Illinois, married 31 years to Eliza 52 born in Indiana. Ray 15, Jacob 13, and Ruth 7 wee born in Nebraska. Eliza's mother Jerusha Davison is 80, widowed, born in Canada. She's hasd 12 kids, four living.

In 1910 Yuma County, the line following Norwood, Frank Hogsett is 22, born in Nebraska, single.

Franklin proved up a parcel in 4 and 5, 5N 43W, and 32 of 6N 43W  in 1916,  AND he proved up a quarter in 6N 42W (Chase County, Nebraska) in 1918.

Franklin Silas L. Hogsett registered for WWI in Lamar, Nebraska, saying he was born there October 20, 1887, and was married

In 1920 he's in Chase County, Nebraska, 38, married to Blanch, 41

Blanche M. Lathrop Hogsett died Oct 18, 1928, and is buried in Lamar L1-E4

In 1930 he's in Franklin County, Nebraska, widowed, living with the Ed and Etta Hollenberg family.

In 1940 Franklin is 52, working for the WPA on a road project in Franklin County, married to Rose, 37.
In 1870 Gentry County, Missouri, David L. Davidson is 54, Jerusha A. Davidson 40, Leman H. Davidson 18, Alma E. Davidson 11, Rosa J. Davidson 10, Eliza S. Davidson 9, Minnie O. Davidson 8, Charles L. Davidson 5/12, Edward A. Mchenry 13, and Henry A Mchenry 21.

In 1880 Fremont County, Iowa, N. B. Hogsett 22 Self (Head) Sarah Hogsett 19 Wife.

Norwood Hogsett Age: 20 Marriage Date: 8 Oct 1877 Marriage Place: Allen, Kansas, USA Father: Jacob Hogsett Mother: P R Hogsett Spouse: Eliza Davison.

Norwood had an entry for the start of a timber claim in 4N 43W, but it wasn't completed, apparently.



Franklin proved up 320 acres in sections 4 and 5, 5N 43W, and in section 32, 6N 43W in 1916.

Franklin Silas L. Hogsett registered for WWI in Lamar, Nebraska, born there October 20, 1887, married, with a partial disability.

December 1920 "Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hogsett of south of Lamar (probably Lamar, Nebraska) have moved to Holyoke. Mr. Hogsett is employed at the F. M. Smith Ice plant."

April 1921 Missouri Valley items in the Holyoke State Herald "Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Shaw moved to the Hogsett place last Tuesday."

December 1922 " Miss Ruth Hogsett and Mr. Mike Brophy were married by Judge Weir at his home Sunday at high noon."

March 1923 "John Barbour is helping Frank Hogsett build a cement basement house this week."

January 1924 "Frank Hogsett butchered the largest hog in the world - or at least the largest we ever heard of - last week. The little runt only dressed out S9O pounds of meat, lard, etc. The animal was a Poland China. Mr. Hogsett states that a fire had to be built under a water tank in which it was necessary to scald the animal."
