In 1885 Marion County, Kansas, Edward Suderman is farming, 51, Mary 53, with Edward 19, Cornelius 17, and Mary Ott, 13. On the same page is Bernhard Warkentin, 24, a carpenter, and his wife Mary, 20.
Eduard E. Sudermann, born Sept 7, 1866, married Agnes Flaming November 5, 1891 in Korn, Washita County, Oklahoma. His father was Eduard Sudermann, mother Maria Pauls.
Young Edward is in Washita County, Oklahoma in 1900, born Aug 1867 in Russia, immigrating in 1882. He's married nine years to Agnes Sept 1871 Russia, and they have three kids.

In 1900 Cope precinct, Edward born Dec 1833 in Germany, married 36 years to Maria Feb 1833 Germany, are living with Cornelius January 1868 Russia and Annie Sept 1877 Nebraska - just married.
The next household is Bernhard Warkentin May 1860, Mary Feb 1865, both Russia, with Bernhard Oct 1885, Kansas, Mary May 1887 Kansas, Abraham Oct 1888 Kansas, Edward March 1890 Kansas, John March 1894 Colorado, Susan April 1898 Colorado, and Herman Sept 1899 Colorado.
Buried in Washita County, Oklahoma, per # 12347779, is Mary Suderman - Feb 2, 1835-1904. Although close, the Wichita Kansas account says "Died of Grief. Ootebo, O. T., June I. Mrs. Gerhard Suderman. aged .. years, died here yesterday. Her husband died just a week ago. and grief over his death is supposed to have hastened, if not caused, her death"

Cornelius proved up a quarter in 17, 4S 47W in 1905, and Edward one in section 20 in 1901.
In 1910 Kirk precinct, Cornelius is 42, Annie 32, with Jacob 9, Annie 8, John 5, Sarah 4, Anges 1, and Henry four months.
February 1913 "C. Suderman, who recently held a sale at his place out near Kirk, will, with his family, leave for Lewiston, Michigan, the 19th of this month, where they will make their future home."
In 1920 Oscoda County, Michigan, Cornelius is 51, Anna 42, Jacob 19, Anna K. 17, John K. 15, Sarah K. 13, Henry K. 10, Bernard K. 7, Mary K. 6, Susan K. 4, Katherann K. 2, and Elizabeth G. eleven months.
In 1930 Oscoda County, Cornelius is 62, Anna 52, Anna 28, Henry 20, Bernhard 18, Marie 16, Susan 15, Tena 12, Elizabeth 1, and Abraham 9.
In 1940 Midland County, Michigan, Cornelius O. is 72, Anna 62, Abraham 22, Katherine 21, Elizabeth 19, grandson Jean 10 and grandaughter Rachel 8, both born in Michigan.

Cornelius 1868-1946 and Anna 1977-1966 are buried in Poseyville, Michigan

"Anna C. (Kroeker) Suderman was born Sept. 16, 1877 near Lincoln, Neb. to Jacob and Anna Kroeker. She went to be with the Lord on her 89th birthday, Sept. 16, 1966, at the Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington, Ill. She lived in Nebraska until her marriage on Jan. 13, 1900 to Cornelius Suderman. They moved to Colorado, where they lived until 1913 when they moved to Comins, Mich. In 1936 they moved to Midland, Mich., which was her residence until this year when she moved to Saginaw, Mich. to live with a daughter. She was in the hospital three weeks before her death. Her husband passed away in 1946. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, one brother, one son and three daughters. Surviving are six daughters, Miss Anna, missionary in India, Mrs. Otto (Sara) Liske of Hubbard Lake, Mich., Mrs. Lester (Marie) Tuley of Saginaw, Mich., Mrs. Frank (Susan) Ackerman of Chenoa, Ill., Mrs. Allen (Katherine) Postiff of Manchester, Mich. and Miss Elizabeth, missionary in Angola, Africa; four sons, John, Henry, and Bernhard of Midland, Mich. and Abraham of Ravenna, Ohio; 37 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Helena Esau of Joshua Tree, Calif. She was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church of Gladwin, Mich. and was faithful to her Lord all her life. She attended Our Redeemer Evangelical Mennonite Church at Midland. The funeral was conducted Sept. 19 at Our Redeemer Church. "

# 59929558 says she was born at Henderson, Nebraska. Cornelius, per # 59929569 was born in Randarweide, Russia, and died in an auto accident.

Cornelius' daughter Elizabeth Gladys Suderman, 95, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at a local nursing facility. Born in Comins, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna C. Suderman. Ms. Suderman was a member of Harmony Church. She was a graduate of Taylor University and attended Providence Bible College and Wycliff Bible Institute. Ms. Suderman went to Africa in 1949, where she spent more than 40 years serving as a missionary.

HENRY
Henry K SUDERMAN was born on 16 Dec 1909 in Kirk, Colorado. He had five siblings, namely: Abraham, Helena, John Kroeker, Agnes, and Anna "Annie". He died on 23 Oct 1974 in Midland, Midland, Michigan, USA. When he was 21, He married Cornelia "121261" HARDER on 23 Sep 1931. He was the younger brother to Jacob Kroeker Suderman. Henry K SUDERMAN was employed as a Concrete Mason. He lived in Kirk, Colorado, in 1910. He lived in Elmer, Oscoda, Michigan in 1920 and 1930.
Henry K SUDERMAN and Cornelia HARDER had the following children:
1. Lynda Hazel SUDERMAN was born on 22 Jul 1932 in Comins, Michigan . She married Robert Kenneth ROBINSON on 27 Oct 1951.
2. Gladys Lorraine SUDERMAN was born on 17 May 1934 in Comins. She married Richard Lyle WEBSTER on 14 Apr 1951.
3. Claries Mae SUDERMAN was born on 24 Jun 1936 in Gladwin, Michigan. She married Willard Halbert MUNGER Sr. on 15 May 1954 in Midland, Midland, Michigan, USA. She married Samuel SEGAN on 07 Jan 2000 in Beaverton, Gladwin, Michigan.
4. Letha Joyce SUDERMAN was born on 21 Jan 1939 in Midland, Michigan. She married Leonard Frederick HUDSON on 09 Feb 1957 in Midland, Midland, Michigan, USA.

ANNA
The Anna G. Suderman 1875-1957 who married Daniel Bergthold was also a missionary in India, but NOT the Colorado one.

JACOB

Jacob "Jake" was the first child of Cornelius Suderman and Anna Kroeker. He had twelve siblings; Anna, Agatha, Helena, Sarah K., John K., Henry K., Bernard K., Marie K., Susan K., Katherina K., Elizabeth G., and Abraham. Jacob married Cornelia Harder on 21 Jan 1925, at the age of 24. She was sister to Claude Harder, who also lived in the Fairview area and is buried there near Jacob. After Jacob's death, Cornelia married Jacob's brother Henry. Jacob worked as a grinder at Detroit Ford Motor Co. He also worked as a farmer in Comins, Michigan. He was buried on July 15, 1931 in the Fairview Cemetery, Comins Twp., Oscoda Co., Michigan.

BERNARD

Bernard Suderman, 94, of Topeka, died at his home early Monday morning, October 9, 2006. He had been ill since August 2006. He was born March 11, 1912, in Kirk, Colorado, to Cornelius and Anna (Kroeker) Suderman. On May 31, 1936, he married Sylvia Bontrager. She died May 15, 1979. He then married Kathryn Bontrager and she died July 1993. In 1995 he married Lena J. (Miller) Borntrager in Topeka. She survives. Mr. Suderman had lived in this area since April 1988 and moved to Topeka in 1995. He farmed until 1964. On March 11, 1974, he retired from a lumber yard in Midland, Michigan. He had also worked at the Missionary Press. He was a member of the Milford Chapel. He is survived by his wife, Lena; a daughter, Sharon (Bill) Sommers of Smyrna, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Audrey Suderman of New Paris, Indiana; six step-sons, Wilbur Slabach of Wawaka, Indiana, Lloyd Slabach of Shipshewana, Indiana, Wayne Slabach of Goshen; Glen Slabach of Bristol, Indiana, Robert Borntrager of Winter Haven, Florida, and Stan Borntrager of Indio, California; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Suderman of Sumpter, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by two wives; a son, LaMar J. Suderman; eight sisters, Anna, Helena, Agatha and Agnis Suderman, Sarah Liske, Marie Tuley, Susan Ackerman, and Kathryn Postiff; four brothers, Jacob Edward, John K., Henry K. and Abraham Suderman; and a great-granddaughter, Christina Wentworth. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. A 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2006, funeral service will be conducted at the Maple Grove Church, Topeka. Rev. Gene Troyer of the Maple Grove Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Midland Memorial Cemetery, Midland, Michigan, with a 1:00 p.m. graveside service on Friday, October 13, 2006. Memorial contributions may be made to the World Missionary Press or Parkview Hospice.


Ida Marie Miles Ida Marie Miles, 98, a former Garden City resident, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born Sept. 2, 1901, at Newton, the daughter of John and Sarah (Suderman) Warkentin.
