Craft W. and Clementine (Hoffman) Coast, Alvin


In 1860 Venango County, Pennsylvania, Richard Huffman is 32, Clemintine 30, Barbara 18, Mary 16, Coulter 12, Samuel 8, and Philip 6.

In 1870 Venango County, Pennsylvania, Craft "Ghost" is 35, Clementine 31, Nancy A. 11, Richard 9, John H. 7, Saml. B. 5, Caroline 4, and James five months. S. B. Huffman is 17, likely the one with Richard and Clemintine in 1860.

Craft Coast is in Labette County, Kansas in 1880. Craft is 44, Clementine 41, Adaline 20, Wallace 18, Samuel 15, CAROLINE 13, James 11, Clinton 7, adn Franklin 3.
Craft W. Coast and Clementine Hoffman had Jeaddie about 1859, and she married Martin Van Buren, dying November 10, 1928 in Yakima County, Washington>
Winnie was in Yuma County in 1910, 19, with Charles 43 and Caroline 42 Hazlitt. Sylvia is 17, Addie 11, and Victor 2.
Caroline was the daughter of Craft Coast.

Clementine 1839-1906 is buried in Washington County, Oklahoma.

In 1910 Yuma County, Craft W. Coast is farming, 73, widowed, 13 kids, 8 living, born in Pennsylvania. Daughter Mary E. is 25 born in Kansas. They're next to Clinton Coast, 36, single, born in Pennsylvania.
Craft proved up two quarters in sections 22 and 27 in 1918, adjoining Myron Leasure's claim.
His witnesses for this three-year proof advertised September 25, 1913 were Guy Montgomery, William A. Shroyer, Isaac Bender, and Guy A. Shrader, all of Alivn, Colorado.

November 20, 1913 "Mrs. M. S. Van Buren is here from Oklahoma visiting her brother, James Coast and family."

JAMES

James Coast, age 34, married Cora E. (England) on December 15, 1904 in Independence, Kansas.

This was the second marriage for Cora. She had married George Bender, who died in 1904, per one tree.
This is probably the George Bender - January 14, 1876- Nov 18, 1902 buried in Washington County, Oklahoma # 31939506.

In 1910 Chase County, Nebraska, James is 40, born in Pennsylania, Cora E. 26 born in Kansas. Mary B. 7 was born in Olklahoma, a ste--daugher, and Millard 3 born in Oklahoma.
December 5, 1912 Wray "R. N. Veal and James Coast of Alvin were trading in our burg, Tuesday."

December 26, 1912 "Messrs John Paynter, J. Newport and James Coast wero down from Alvin postoffice the latter part of last week on business."

January 15, 1913 "J. B. Starkey has made application for the post office at Alvin to succeed James Coast, resigned."
October 15, 1913 Wray "James Coast of Alvin was in Laird Tuesday after lumber, as were several others from north of Laird. Considerable building is being done in that locality this fall."
"Mr. and Mrs. John Paynter spent the week end at the home of James Coast."

July 16, 1914 "Mrs. James Coast spent Wednesday at the home of her sister, Mrs. O.O. Bender."

In 1940 Jewell County, Kansas, James N. Coast 70 and Cora E. 55 are with son Millard Coast 33, single.
James is buried in the same cemetery as the Bender and England families in Jewell County, 1870-1959 with Cora Ellen (England) Coast 1884--1970.
