Still in Jewell County in 1940, Isaac is a farm laborer, 61, Rachel 51, and Albert 12 (must be months, not years). (Clarence A. Bender maried Lena M. Waits on February 14, 1967 in San Diego, California, born about 1938.

Cecil Guy Bender, a garage mechanic, born February 2, 1905 at Ramona, Oklahoma, died May 29, 1961 in Sedalia, Missouri, to be buried in Stover cemetery.
He's buried with Ida M. 1910-1986, # 52020794.

OPAL
Opal May (Bender) Hoskins 1912-1990 is buried in Buchanan County, Iowa # q138748549, with Vincen L. 1908-1989.

GEORGE
In 1940 Jewell County, George E. Bender is doing odd jobs, 22, married to Marla 15. They're living with her parents Frank 53 and Sadie 49 Shackelton.

Raymond 1912-2003 is buried in Jewell County # 7919060, with Amie R. 1913-2006 # 58896129
"The former Amie Rachel Bender was born March 31, 1913, in the sod house her father built near Wray, Colorado. She married Raymond M. Balty on December 25, 1931, in Jewell County, Kansas. He died September 27, 2003. "

MILAN, Ill. — Donald Eugene Balty was carefully transferred from the loving hands of his family into the arms of his heavenly Father at 10 a.m., on Jan. 8, 2009, at his home in Milan. He was 71 years old.
A second funeral will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. near his boyhood home in Mankato, Kan. Don will be interred at Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Kan., where he will be awaiting Resurrection morning. Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
He was born in Nyssa, Ore., on May 24, 1937, the only child of Rev. Raymond and Amie (Bender) Balty. Donald made Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior at the age of 15.
Donald fell in love with Glenda Garton as they returned to Kansas with their parents from the first conference of the Bible Missionary Church in Denver, Colo., in 1956. They became engaged three months later and married on April 19, 1957.
Before moving to Illinois, Donald had lived in Scottsbluff where he was in the insurance business and his three children were born here. Don owned and operated First Choice Auto Sales Center, Rock Island, for 16 years. He was a member of the Illinois Auto Dealers Association and the National Independent Auto Dealers Association. A member of the Coal Valley Bible Missionary Church, Donald lived a life of integrity, devoted to God and his family. He had many interests among which were collecting books, cars and travel.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Glenda; and three children, Tim (and Carolyn) of Fairbanks, Alaska, Lisa (and Charles) Croyle of Des Moines, Iowa, and David (and Amy) of Atlanta, Ga. Don and Glenda have seven grandchildren.

"On the south side of the cemetery, a small tent will be staked next to monuments that bear the names, “Isaac and Rachel Bender,” and “Raymond and Amie Balty.” A few moments later, Reverend Paul Eversole will commit my father’s body to the earth, his soul to God."

June 3, 1992 Mankato, Kansas "Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Balty Memorial weekend were sister, Edith Mahaffy, Hutchinson; brother George Bender, Augura Colorado, niece Delta Steiner and hisband Dick and daughter Rochelle, Hutchinson. Nephew, BUtch Mahaffy and wife Deb, Beloit, also visited."

June 1993 "Edith Mahaffy, Hutchinson, visited her sister and husband, M/M R. M. Balty. Other visitors have been George Bender and daughter, Bonnie, of Colorado."


Edith Ruth Bender was born December 3, 1920 at Cabool, Texas County, Missouri, dying as Mahaffy January 9, 2002.
She's buried in Burr Oak, Jewell County # 108506333.
In the same lot is Don P. Mahaffy 1909-1985.
