In 1900 Gosper County, Nebraska, Scott Dinsmore, Aug 1846 Iowa, has been married 29 years to Belvadora Feb 1853 Missouri. She's had seven kids, six living. With them are John S. Dec 1885 and Scott C. May 1890, both born in Kansas. (on the same census page are Benjamin F. and Sarah B. Aggson)

The family is in front of Cecil Scott and Belvadora's house south of Yuma, Colorado.

Belva is widowed in 1930, living with son Ottis 54, and Nora M. 48 and their two daughters, in Dailey precinct, Logan County, Colorado. She's still with them and their one daughter in 1940 Dailey precinct.

Haxtun Harvest, Haxtun, Colorado, Wednesday, March 21, 1945 DEATH COMES QUIETLY TO AGED MOTHER Grandma Dinsmore Passed Away at Home of Son Mrs. Belvadora Dinsmore, 92, died in Haxtun Monday morning, March 19, at 9:20 o’clock. Mrs. Dinsmore made her home in Haxtun with her son, Ottis Dinsmore, and Mrs. Dinsmore, and it was at their home that she passed away. Death came to her peacefully after a very short illness. Mrs. Dinsmore had been a resident of Colorado for 35 years. She was born February 8, 1853, in the state of Missouri, daughter of William Slusher and Katherine Taylor Slusher. Services were held at the Brethren church in Haxtun Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, with Rev. Otto Laursen, pastor of the church in charge. Pallbearers were Messrs. A.C. Heaston, H.E. Stryker, J.A. Sand, Louis A. Koch, Leonard Fetzer and E.L. Ramsay. Interment was in the Haxtun cemetery with the Radford Funeral home in charge. The obituary read at the services follows: Belvadora Slusher, oldest daughter of William and Catherine Slusher was born in Harrison County, Missouri on February 8, 1853, and passed away at Haxtun, Colorado, March 19, 1945, age 92 years, one month and 11 days. She was married to Scott Dinsmore on July 10, 1870 in Montgomery County, Kansas. To this union were born six sons and one daughter. The daughter passed away when a small child. The family lived in eastern Kansas until 1892 when they moved to Gosper County, Nebraska. While in Nebraska they both united with the Methodist church. Going from Nebraska to western Kansas and came to Haxtun, Colorado in 1910. In the spring of 1912 they moved to Yuma County, taking up a homestead about 25 miles southeast of Yuma, making their home in Yuma County until her husband passed away on October 16, 1923. She came to Haxtun after her husband’s death to make her home with her son, Ottis. Her oldest son, Frank passed away in April 1939. She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Cinda Shestad, Independence, Kansas, five sons, Harry of Loveland, Colorado, Ottis of Haxtun, Colorado, John of Yuma, Colorado and Cecil of Denver, twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. In 1940 Haxtun Lela E. is widowed, living next to Guy, 37, born in Kansas - working on county roads - and Martha 26, Missouri- Jean E. 7, Dale E. 5, Coral N. 4. and Richard nine months were all born in Colorado. Guy - 1902-1977 and Martha L. 1913-1988 are buried in Haxtun.

1919 Wray "Mrs. C.M. Sweazy returned Saturday evening from a three weeks visit with her daughter, Mrs. C.S. Dinsmore, south of Yuma."
In the 1920 census of Mildred precinct Cecil S. is 28, born in Kansas, Elsie V., 29 Colorado, with Charles L. twenty-month old. Charles Theodore Boyd, "helper", 20, born in Kansas, is living with them. Charles Boyd married Aphrodite Gatten, daughter of Walter and Grace (Gifford) Gatten of Yuma County.

In 1900 "Harry" is in Thomas County, Kansas, married six years to Minnie, Dec 1877 Iowa. She's had three children, two living - Ethel May 1895 and Grace Nov 1896 both born in Nebraska.
In 1910 Wilford H. is in Gosper County, Nebraska, married to Minnie D. , with Ethel 13, Grace S. 12, Doris 5, Myrtle 3, Hal 2, and Cecil S. five months.
In 1911 the Yuma baseball team won a game against the Sand Hillers - who had C. Dinsmore at second base and H. Dinsmore at first. In the day previous Dinsmore was playing second base for the Bryant team.
Wilford proved up 320 acres in sections 8 and 9, 3S 47W in 1914, witnesses Edward L. McDonald, Leroy J. Elliott, Ernest M. Fletcher, and John Stiles. He cash-claimed another 80 acres in section 8 in 1918.
In 1913 Wilford won $100 for his field of alfalfa
1913 "W. H. Dinsmore, of the south side, was a Yuma visitor last Friday, being in route to the Burdette country with his threshing machine."

In 1920 Center precinct he's 49, Minnie 42, Nebraska, Doris 15, Myrtle 13, Hal 11, Cecil S. 9, all born Nebraska, Kenneth 7 and Winnie 4, both in Colorado.
Doris and Myrtle both graduated from Yuma Union High School in 1925.
W. H. Dinsmore was a candidate for Yuma County sheriff in 1922.
Doris Dinsmore married Merrill E. Brush in Denver October 1, 1929.
In 1930 Denver, Harry is a proprietor of a "furniture hospital". With him and Minnie are Hal, 21, Grace 32, Jack 17, Winnifred 14, and Darrell 4.
In 1931 Denver Harry is a salesman, with Minnie V. living at 1601 S. Logan. L. Hal, (Luther) a clerk at TGSCo, also lives there. Grace S. is a bookkeeper at Visiting Nurse Association, living at 1431 Penn.
Winifred Dinsmore married Charles E. Rathburn in Denver August 17, 1935. "She married in Denver, Colorado on 17 Aug 1935 to Charles Edward Rathbun, Jr., a native of Buffalo, New York. She died 16 Aug 1999. "
In 1957 Denver W.H. DENSMORE and Minnie live at 2708 S. Monroe . Cecil S. (Elsie N.) is a watchman for the Union Pacific, living at 2800 Steele.

Wilford Harrison born July 2, 1920 died Feb 2, 1921 in Yuma County. "Harry" is buried in the Yuma Cemetery --Thomas Darrell born July 4, 1925 died Dec 31, 1996 in Loveland. Kenneth Irwin 'Jack' born July 15, 1913 in Yuma County died April 5, 1973 in Orange County California.

| Marian E. Dinsmore, 74, of Loveland, died Dec. 21, 2000, at her home. She was born March 19, 1926, in Ness City, Kan., to Walter E. and Eve Elvira Aiken Lohnes. She attended Loveland High School. She married Thomas Darrell (T.D.) Dinsmore on Dec. 13, 1943, in Boulder. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1996. She was an administrative assistant for a publishing company. Mrs. Dinsmore moved to Loveland in the early 1930s from Ness City. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Red Feather Lakes, being with her family, sewing and square dancing. Mrs. Dinsmore is survived by a son, Dennis Dinsmore and wife Nancy of Loveland; three grandchildren, Holly Irby, Matthew Dinsmore and Christa Dinsmore, all of Loveland; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Lohnes. Cremations has been conducted. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Hoekstra will officiate. Burial will be in the Loveland Burial Park Columbarium. |

***** Haxtun Harvest, October 19, 1960, Haxtun, Colorado ***** Last rites for Ottis Dinsmore, a retired farmer and pioneer of this community, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. o'clock from the Church of the Brethren with Rev. Virgil Weimer in charge. Organist was Mrs. Weimer and a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Kipp and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Switzer sang, Whispering Hope, Lead Kindly Light, and The Old Rugged Cross. Honorary escorts were Ray Nimmo, A.C. Heaston, Willis Barden, Andy Russell, Frank Smith and Fred Reyher, and acting escorts were Fred Heaston, Merle Switzer, Willard Harte, Ernie Stryker, Eldred Atkins and Wallace Burton. Ushers were Raymond Baker and August Krehmeyer. Concluding service and burial was at the Haxtun cemetery. The following obituary was read: Ottis Dinsmore was born September 14, 1875 at Joplin, Missouri, the son of Scott and Belbadore Dinsmore. In the early years of his life the family moved to Kansas and later to Elwood, Nebraska. On March 18, 1900, Brother Dinsmore was united in marriage to Nora Chase of Elwood, Nebraska. Immediately following their marriage the couple moved to a farm at Rexford, Kansas. To this union were born four children, one son who died in infancy, three daughters, Catherine, Irene and Erma. Before coming to Colorado, Brother Dinsmore made a trip to Haxtun to look for a location and was staying at the hotel in town when Haxtun became incorporated. In 1909 the family moved to a farm northwest of Haxtun. In March of this year, Brother and Sister Dinsmore celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Brother Dinsmore was a farmer at heart. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. After leaving the farm in 1942 these interests became a source of fruitful activity. He was a man who was interested in his fellowmen. A neighbor reminisced that from the time of my childhood I always knew Brother Dinsmore as a happy person. He also possessed a delightful and stimulating sense of humor. Brother Dinsmore has been an active member of the Church of the Brethren for 36 years. On the morning of Tuesday, October 11, 1960, while en route to Jumbo reservoir for a day of fishing with his wife and neighbors, Brother Dinsmore died suddenly in the car on route 59 just south of Highway 30, at the age of 85 years and 26 days. Surviving to mourn his passing are his wife, Nora Dinsmore; three daughters, Catherine Kinzie and Irene Livingston of Haxtun, and Erma Shoemaker of Bend, Oregon; three brothers, Roy of Portland, Oregon, John of Yuma, Colorado and Cecil of Vernon, Colorado; three sons-in-law, Virgil and Ernest Livingston of Haxtun and Phil Shoemaker of Bend Oregon; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, as well as many friends and neighbors. 58925001 ROY In 1900 Gosper County, Nebraska "Claude" October 1878 and Mary B. May 1882 have been married two years. She's had one child, none living. In 1910 Haxtun Roy C. Densmore is 32, a cement worker born in Missouri, Mary B. 27, Herbert R. 9, and Henry S. 7, all three born in Nebraska. In 1920 Paoli "Claude" and Mary have Herbert, Henry, Vera 9, Jada 5, and Mary 1. He's a merchant.
In 1930 Portland, Oregon Roy is a carpenter, with Mary 45, Vera 19, Zada 15, Alice 11, Alieen 9, and Luther 4 In 1940 Multnomah County, Oregon Claude is 63, Marybelle 57, Luther T. 14, Arleen 19, and grandson Richard Schwender, 9, born in Oregon.
Aileen died August 19, 1965 in Portland Aileen Pearl Coyle, 44, of 7149 N. Macrum Ave.,
Alice died in 1997 in Oregon Saturday, March 15, 1997, in Young's Funeral Home for Alice Mary Anderson of Woodburn, who died March 11 at age 78. Mrs. Anderson was born July 19, 1918, in Paoli, Colo. Her maiden name was Dinsmore. She was reared and educated in Portland where she graduated from Lincoln High School. She married Herrill "Stewart" in Portland in 1940, and first lived there. In 1949, she moved to Tigard where she was a member of the Tigard United Methodist Church. She moved to Woodburn where she lived for the last 20 years. Her husband died in 1995. Survivors include her son, Cary of Portland; brother, Luther Dinsmore of Metzger; and two grandchildren. Mary Bell (Thomas) Dinsmore died June 20, 1972 in Portland 8130 S.W. 54th, wife of Claude; mother of Vera Schwender, Zada Schroeder, Alice Anderson, Henry and Luther Dinsmore; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister of Claude Thomas. Claude died January 11, 1973, and is buried in Skyline Memorial, Portland with Mary. 67622638
