Martha 1806-1868 was the daughter of Daniel Dibble and Louise Pomeroy.

Martha J. married a Bevier and died in Michigan.

In 1860 Worth County, Iowa, Christopher Pickle is 60, Martha 54, WESLEY 19, Samuel 16.
Christopher's will was probated in 1866 in Worth County.

William Pickle 1834-1905 is buried in Freeborn County, Minnesota # 23651559.

Emmeline Rebecca Pickle, wife of Hiram F. Main, born 1840, married 1857, died in 1912.

John W. Pickle and Helen P. Smith married in Freeman, Minnesota on May 15, 1864.

"Cambridge was originally called Pickletown, and under the latter name was laid out in the 1870s by J. W. Pickle."

Cambridge, Nebraska "The first settler was Hiram Doing, who settled and entered a homestead claim on the land that now forms a portion of the present town site of Cambridge, in 1871. He built a house near the creek and lived on the land until July, 1878, when he sold it to J. W. Pickle, who the next January began the erection of a saw and grist mill on the west bank of the creek. This was completed in due time and has been in operation ever since. On purchasing the land in 1878, J. W. Pickle surveyed an laid out a town which was called Northwood. "
"JOHN W. PICKLE, real estate, was born in Barry County, Mich., in 1842, and reared near Milwaukee, Wis. He began business life at the age of twenty-one as a school teacher in Worth County, Iowa; followed it, in connection with farming in Iowa and Kansas for some thirteen years. He came to Cambridge in the fall of 1877, and engaged in the mercantile business, conducting it alone for two years, then under the style of A. D. Bonner & Co., until July 1, 1881, when the style changed to Lindsay Bros., and in May, 1882, rented the old stand to Mitchell Bros. In July, 1878, he built a saw-mill at this place, and conducted it up to March, 1882, when he sold it. Mr. P. laid out the site for the town of Cambridge in July 1878, and again in June, 1880, and is a large owner of the same, besides which he has considerable farming property."

1886 McCook, Nebraska " I notice in your issue of last week, the failure of J. W. Pickle & Co. of the Red Willow and Cambridge grist mills. It was a surprise to me. I went down to the basement and up stairs, but saw no indications of failure unless we had neglected to toll the last grist. By going to Cambridge I found the mill doing first-class work there. The busy body who started that false report will do well to mind his own business hereafter. "

In 1888 J. W. Pickle was one of the organizers of a flour mill in Cambridge.

November 1899 Wray "Mrs. J. W. Pickle of the Arickaree but formerly cf Wray, is the guest of Mrs. L. M. Butts and Miss Margaret Campbell. "

John proved up 160 acres in sections 5 and 8, 3S 44W in 1900.



February 1900 "J. W. Pickle returned from Iowa last week for a few days visit, and called on Wray friends early this week. His many friends were pleased to great him again and to hear of his continued prosperity. Mr. Pickle has contracted to put in a flouring mill at Nera Springs, Iowa."

"John Pickle Died at Mankato Kansas. He was in Cambridge, Ne for awhile and then moved to Kansas after his divorce from his wife and then he remarried. Karen Bivens"

In 1900 Republic County, Kansas, Helen Pickle is widowed, born Jan 1848 in New York. She's had eight kids, five living. Rita Dec 1875 in Kansas, John May 1881 Nebraska, Hellen G. April 1883 in Nebraska.

August 1900 "Mrs. J. W. Pickle requests the Times sent to her address at Mauley, lowa. She has been receiving it at Mankato, Kansas."

November 1900 Wray "John Pickle left last night for Chicago. He goes via Cuba, Kan., where he will make a short visit."

February 1902 "J. W. Pickle and wife of the Arickaree, spent Sunday and Monday with relatives in Wray. Uncle Wesley did the proper thing while in town, by becoming a subscriber to that household companion, the Wray Rattler."

1904 Mankato, Kansas "J. W. Pickle writes from Colorado that he has leased his ranch there and placed his stock in a herd, and he is expected home soon."
In 1908 Cuba, Kansas " Hotel Richland, Mrs Helen P. Pickle."

September 17, 1909 Beloit Kansas "W. H. Houghton last evening received a telephone message bearing to him the sad' news that his cousin, Mrs. Helen Pickle had passed away at her home at Cuba, Kansas. Thedeceased lady, who is known by a good many Beloit people was probably about 55 years of age and leaves a family of grown children to mourn her death. The funeral services will be held at Cuba tomorrow and Mr. Houghton will leave in the morning, so as to be in attendance at the funeral. "

Helen P. Pickle 1848-1909 is buried in Belleville # 137553012.

John W. Pickle 1841-1905 is buried in Mankato, Kansas # 45050399, with Mary M. 1849-1936 # 45050400. It says she was the daughter of Christoper H. Walker and Deliliah Frasier Walker.

July 1900 "Miss Dollie Pickle, daughter of J. W. Pickle, was married to E. C. Preble at Cuba, Kans., Wednesday. Many friends here will remember her and wish her happiness."

JOHN

June 10, 1899 "Charles and John Pickle, who are visiting relatives in Cuba, Kansas, will start on the return trip about the 15th instant. They will make the trip on their bicycles, and are scheduled to stop in Deuel county for a short visit. It would be safe to bet that will not be the only stop."

June 1899 "Charley and John Pickle are expected to arrive home about the last of June."

John and Anna had Anna Justine Pickles on April 15, 1912 in Chicago.

John is in Cloud County, Kansas in 1915, 34, with Anna 29, Helen 4, Justine 3, and Warner seven months.

In 1920 John is operating a cream station in Willard, Colorado 38, with Anna 36, Helen K. 8, Anna Justine 7, Charles Werner 5, John W..3, and Carol Mamie newborn.

In 1930 Willard, John is 48, Anna 44, Anna J. 17, Chas W. 15, John W. 13, Carroll M.111, Virginia F. 9, Daniel R. 6, Raymond L. 4, and Donald Z. 3.

In 1940 Willard, John is 58, Anna 54, Virginia F. 19, Daniel R. 16, and D. Zane 13.

John, born May 29, 1881, died in Wichita, Kansas August 22, 1951.

Anna Werner Pickle 1886-1968 died in Kimball, Nebraska.

Anna Justine Pickle 18, married Carl B. Davis in New Raymer, Colorado on January 17, 1931.
Anna, 27, and Carl B. 34 are in El Dorado County, California in 1840, with roberta K. 8 and Mary Anna 6.
Anna died March 3, 1997 in Reno, Nevada.

Charles R. Werner Warren Pickle was born Sept 3, 1914 in Chicago to John W> "Warren" and Anna Werner.

Charles W. Warren 1914-1998 is buried in Omaha # 73057925.

Raymond Leon Pickle, born 1925 in Willard, died in Sterling in 1932.
He's buried in Willard # 142648744.

Virginia Fae Ogley, born January 16, 1921 in Willard, died in Sterling January 14, 1958.

Daniel Richard Pickle, born Nov 16, 1923 in Willard, died Feb 8, 2002 in Wilbur, Nebraska.

Helen Catherine married Claude Edward Curtis, born in Chicago October 18, 1910, dying in Kimball, Nebraska on Dec 9, 1999.
December 1999 Scottsbluff "Helen Curtis of Kimball died at the Kimball County Manor. Cremation has place. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Dec. 1999. in the Chapel of the Kimball County Manor. The Rev. Ed Newbury will officiate. Burial will be in Marion Ohio. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of funeral urangements. She was born on Oct. in Chicago, Illinois to John W. and Anna Pickle. The family moved to Colo. She attended and graduated school in Willard. She married Kenneth Kellner in 1929 and they later divorced. She and Claude Curtis were married on Sept. in Kimball. She worked as a secretary for Judge Kenneth Fritzler and in the judges' office at the courthouse before retiring. She was a member of St. Hilda's Episcopal Church in Kimball. She is survived by her husband Claude, one son Russell Kellner and his wife Dianna, two brothers Dan Warren and Zane Warren , one sister Carol Rathmann, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her one son Kenneth John, two sisters and two brothers."

Carol Pickle married ALvie Rathmann on March 5, 1938 in Logan County, Colorado.

In 1940 Logan County, Alvie is 22, Carol 21.
They had Gerald Ernest Rathmann on May 13, 1949 in Colorado, who married Patricia Ann Brown on July 29, 1965 in Logan Cuunty, and divorced in Yuma County on Oct 8, 1970. Gerald died July 9, 1976 in East Chicago, Indiana.
Alvie, born in Emerald Nebraska July 1, 1917, died in Sxterling July 2, 1995.

Mary A. Pickle, 19, born in Iowa, married Frank H. Silby on Dec 25, 1888 in Furnas County, Nebaska.

Mary 1879-1890 is buried in Cambridge, Nebraska # 108462414.
So is Frank H. Selby 1862-1903 # 108462399.

RITA

In 1910 Republic County, Kansas, Rita is 34, married to Charles L. Tyrrell 40, with Charles L. 7.

1915 Cuba, Kansas "Mrs. H. O. Simmons entertained Mrs. A. Waggoner oi Kansas City, Mrs. Milton Pickle of Chicago Ill,, and Mrs. Chas. Tyrrell at tea Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Milton Pickle of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. A. Waggoner of Kansas City, Mo., arrived here last Wednesday for a visit with Mrs. C. L. Tyrrell. "

In 1920 Washington County, Kansas, Charles is 44, born in Illinois, now married to Bessie 25 born in Kansas, with son Louis 17.

Charles 1870-1946 is buried in Belleville, Kansas # 137553747.
"Charles L. Tyrrell was born in September, 1870, at La Harpe, Ill., and departed this life November 18, 1946, at the age of 76.
He was married to Rita Pickle in June, 1900, at Cuba, Kan. To this union one son was born.
He leaves to mourn his passing, one son, Charles Lewis Tyrrell of Chase; four grandchildren; one brother, Will of Gillette, Wyo.; several nieces and nephews and a number of friends. "

HELEN

July 1900 "Mr. and Mrs. Orren Vaughn this week recieved an announcement of the wedding of Miss Hellen G. Pickle to Mr. E. C. Preble, at Cuba, Kas., Wednesday, July 18, 1900. Miss Dolly Pickle will be remembered by many as living here some years ago."


CHARLIE

Lettie M. Miller, 19, married Charley Pickle on March 18, 1900 in Vernon, Colorado.
"Charles Pickle and Lettie Miller at the home of the bride’s parents Sunday, March 18, at 10 a. m. Rev. S. E. Ellis officiating, in the presence of a few chosen friends. The bride was be-icmingly dressed and looked heautifull. These young people have grown up in our midst and are well known and loved by all and have the universal good wishes for a happy life. They will make their home at the Pickle ranch on the Arickaree."


MILTON

1891 Cuba Kansas "Milton Pickle, of Cambridge, Neb., nephew of Mrs. J. W. Waggoner, stopped over and visited with the latter while on his way to Chicago this week. "

1915 Cuba, Kansas "Mrs. Milton Pickle returned to her home in Chicago Thursday evening after a visit with relatives here. "

Milton S. Pickle, of Cincinnati, Ohio, born March 2, 1871 in Minnesota to J. W. Pickle and Helen P. Smith born in Gloversville, New York, died in Tucson Arizona on April 9, 1937 a realter, husband of Mary S. Pickle. The informant was Mrs. E. C. Preble of Norman, Oklahoma,. He was to be buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
