MINNIE'S FAMILY

Frederick W. Renzelman 1846-1892 is buried in Carroll County, Missouri, # 70206779, with Mary D. Renzelman 1849-1914 # 70206725.

JAMES' FAMILY

In 1900 Carroll County, James Sr. is farming, born Feb 1854 in Virgina, married 15 years to Mary July 1862 Indiana. Gertrude July 1886 and Harry July 1888 were born in Missouri, "Hue" Jan 1895 and Frank Oct 1896 in Nebraska.

March 1910 "Mrs. M. B. Vandergrift and brother, Harry Flick arrived Sunday from Norborne, Mo. At present they are the guests of Mrs. M. A. Scheible."

In 1910 "Harry" Flick is in Idalia precinct, a farm laborer, 21, working for Milton B. Vandegrift 30 and Gertrude 23. James R. Vandegrift is newborn.

JAMES AND MINNIE

James and Minnie married on February 4, 1911 in Carrollton, Missouri.

October 1912 "Roy and Milton Vandergrift and Harry Flick took wheat to St. Francis Saturday.
Mrs. Harry Flick will leave Tuesday for Norborne, Missouri, where she will make a short visit."

November 1913 "James Flick of Norborne, Missouri, father of Harry Flick, arrived Wednesday of last week. He is thinking some of moving to this part of the country if he can find a good location. He was accompanied by Charles Scheible, a cousin of Harry Flick."

May 1914 "Melton Vandergrift and family, Harry Flick and family also Frank and Hugh Flick spent Sunday with A. S. Hall and family."

James proved up two quarters in section 12, 3S 44W and 6, 3S 43W in 1918.



In 1920 they're back in Carroll County, James 31, Minnie 32, Helen 8, Dan 4, both born in Colorado, and newborn Gertrude.

In 1930 Carroll County, James H. Flick is 41, Minnie C. Flick 42, Helen M. C. Flick 18, Don H. Flick 14, Gertrude E. Flick 10, Marvin F. Flick 8, and Mildred L. Flick 5.

In 1940 Carroll County J. H. Flick 51, Minnie Flick 52, Marvin Flick 17, Mildred Flick 15, Floyd Flick 9, and Betty Sue Flick 6.

James "Harry" Flick 1888-1977 is buried in Carrollton, Missouri, dying in Tampa Florida, per # 150087889.
So is Minnie 1887-1977 # 150087946.

Helen Mary Emma Flick, born at Idalia, married Glenn M. H. Henderson in 1933.

In 1940 they're in Daviess County, Missouri, Glenn 29 born in Kansas, Helen 28 in Colorado, and Ella K. 2 in Iowa.

1954 "Mr and Mrs Glenn Henderson and children, Floyd and Kay, went to Carrollton, Mo,, last Thursday to visit Mrs. Henderson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Flick and other members of her family. They returned to Harlan Tuesday morning."

1956 "Mr and Mrs. Glen Henderson, daughter, Kay, and son Floyd, returned late last Wednesday night from a months vacation trip which took them to the West Coast, with stops at points of scenic interest both going and returning. They visited friends in Los Angeles, and with Mrs Henderson's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Don Flick in Compton, Calif., and with her mother, Mrs. Harry Flick, in Bogard, Calif. After a stay of several days, the two families visited Yosemlte National Park together, the Flick's remaining for a longer stay after the Hendersons left. Enroute to the coast and returning, the Henderson family visited Salt Lake City and Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, Rocky Mountain National and Estes Park in Colorado."

Glenn was an agronomist with the Soil Conservation Service, graduating in 1934 from the University of Missouri, working at Denison in 1945, and in 1946 transferred to Harlan, Iowa, retiring in 1969.

Glenn, born Dec 8, 1910, died July 6, 1992, last residence Shelby County, Ioa

"Helen was born on November 26, 1911 and passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016. Helen was a resident of Harlan, Iowa at the time of passing. NO SERVICES ARE PLANNED. AS PER HELEN'S WISHES, HER BODY WAS DONATED TO CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY."

Kay Henderson, class of 1956 from Harlan, probably "Bill and wife Kay Schechinger of Yantis, Texas."

Gertrude E. Flick married Howard G. Miller on December 14, 1940 in Bogard, Carroll County.

SSgt Howard G. Miller, buried in Liege, Belgium, died December 17, 1944 # 56283799.

Gertrude E. Miller married James W. McConnell on March 10, 1950 in Brookfield, Missouri.

Gertrude, born April 18, 1919 in Bogard, died January 8, 2000.

Marven Jay Flick 1922-1989 is buried in Carroll County # 151004807.

"Mildred Louise Weaver, 93, slipped peacefully into Jesus' arms, Saturday December 23, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo Weaver and recently her brother 'Corky' Floyd Flick. A Godly woman of extreme strength, courage and love, and now is at peace in Paradise.
Survivors: Son, Jack Weaver and wife Pam of Vero Beach, FL; 3 daughters Nancy Adams of Lenoir, NC, Charlott Hall and husband Dewey of Ft Pierce, FL and Kathy Merchant of Oldsmar, FL, and Stepdaughter Rosie Shaw and husband Bob of Chillicothe, IL; Ten grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, stepchildren, and Precious nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are at 10 AM Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home, Franklin, North Carolina. Minister Radford Penland is officiating, burial in Rush Cemetery."

FindaGrave # 169951468 "Betty was born Dec. 4, 1933, the daughter of James Harrison and Minnie Charlotte (Renzelman) Flick in Bogard, Mo. On Jan. 30, 1954, she was married to Charles Bachtel in Carrollton, Mo.
Betty graduated from Bogard High School in 1951. She worked as a Telephone Operator, Bookkeeper, and owned and operated the Holiday Hills Marina in Edwards, Mo. She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was well known for her sugar cookies and her hand sewn quilts. She was a member of the Chillicothe Church of Christ.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Don Flick, Marven Flick; and sister Gertrude McConnell.

Don Harrison Flick 1915-2007 is buried in Cypress, California # 95886549, with Mary Naomi Huddlestun Flick 1913-1998.

FindaGrave # 185968651 "Floyd F. (Corky) Flick, age 86, of Carrollton, Missouri, was called to be with Jesus, on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Carroll House, surrounded by the love of his family. Floyd was born in Bogard, Missouri on January 6, 1931, to Minnie (Renzelman) and James Harrison Flick. He graduated from Bogard High School with the Class of 1949. Floyd joined the United States Air Force on January 4, 1951 and he served as a Sergeant until February 1, 1954, when he was honorably discharged in Rapid City, South Dakota. On December 23, 1951 Floyd married Carol Jane Dorner and to this union they were blessed with three children: Connie, Randy, and Keith.
Floyd was a farmer at heart who liked growing row crops, and raising cattle and hogs. In his spare time he liked woodworking, and through the years had made many small tables and shelves, as well as other pieces of furniture. He took great pride in his vegetable garden and would spend countless hours making sure the rows were straight and that there were no weeds! Floyd was a dedicated and loving family man who enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family, it didn't matter what they were doing, and every moment was precious to him.
He was a Stet School Board member, a Public Water Supply District #1 Board member, as well as a member of Wakanda Lodge #52 AF&AM. Floyd was also a member of the Bogard Church of Christ until the church memberships were moved to the Carrollton Church of Christ, where he continued to faithfully serve God and his church.
Floyd will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife of nearly sixty-six years, Carol, of the home; one daughter, Connie Cooper and husband David, of Stanberry, Missouri; two sons, Randy Flick and wife Carol, of Carrollton, Missouri, and Keith Flick and wife Mindy, of Centralia, Missouri; one sister, Mildred Weaver, of Fort Pierce, Florida; seven grandchildren, Valerie Oberbroeckling and husband Craig, of Prole, Iowa, Jennifer Jensen and husband Brandon, of Maryville, Missouri, Megan Jennings and husband Brent, of Stanberry, Missouri, Aaron Flick, and wife Jaime, of Carrollton, Missouri, Darcy Boorem and husband Jacob, of Lees Summit, Missouri, and Madeline Flick and Carson Flick, both of Centralia, Missouri; and ten great-grandchildren.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don Flick and Marven Flick; and three sisters, Helen Henderson, Gertrude McConnell, and Betty Bachtel. "
