a farm laborer, 21, working for Milton B. Vandegrift 30 and Gertrude 23. James R. Vandegrift is newborn.
Ruth Martin is in Carroll County, Missouri in 1910,

They're farming in Idalia precinct in 1920, Hugh 20, Ruth 26 born in Illinois, and Harry Martin 32 born in Nebraska, a lodger.
In 1930 Idalia precinct, Hugh is 35, Ruth 36, Mary E. 6, Lloyd E. 4,a dn Verna 2, all three born in Colorado.
In 1940 Hugh is 45, Ruth 46, Esther 16, Lloyd 14, Edith 12, and Leroy 3.
November 1952 "Mr. and Mrs. Col. Hugh Flick arrived
home from Carrollton, Mo., where they drove a week ago
to see his brother, Virgil Flick, who was very sick
and passed away a few days later, aged 49 years.
Another brother, Frank Flick of Fruita, arrived in
time for the funeral last Monday. We extend our sympathy to them in the loss of their brother. "

"Marvin Powers and Albert Smith, ministers of the
Church of Christ, conducted funeral services for Mrs.
Hugh Flick of Idalia at the Wray Church of Christ
Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. Burial followed
in the Armel cemetery.
Ruth Adella Martin, daughter of Frank L. and
Hattie Martin, was born February 22, 1894,
at Dixon, Illinois. She died in St. Joseph's hospital
in Denver on June 10, 1963 at the age of 69 years,
three months and 18 days.
At the age of ten she moved with her parents
to Bogard, Mo., where she grew to womanhood.
On January 29, 1919, she was married to Hugh E.
Flick and the couple moved to Yuma county,
Colorado.
Seven children were born
to Mr. and Mrs. Flick. Three children,
Eugene Hubert, Daniel Martin and Naomi Ruth,
preceded their mother in death.
Also preceding her in death were two
brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband;
four children, Mrs. Esther Jordan of Lebanon
, Mo., Lloyd E. Flick of Wray,
Mrs. Edith Hardin of Denver,
and Leroy J. Flick of Idalia; two brothers,
James D. Martin of Yates Center, Kansas,
and William J. Martin of Tribune, Kansas;
one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Adams of Canon
City, and ten grandchildren.
At the age of 25 Mrs. Flick became
a member of the Church of Christ and
was a faithful member until her
death. She attended schools in
Dixon, Illinois, Bogard, Missouri,
and business college in Chillicothe,
Missouri."
NAOMI
Naomi died in 1934, buried in Armel."Naomi Ruth, daughter of Hugh K. and Ruth Flick was born February 7, 1934, and passed away June 19, at the age of four months and twelve days.
She is survived by her father, mother, two sisters, two grandmothers, uncles, aunts, and many other relatives. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 20, at 2:30 p. m.. at the Nazarene church south of Armel. Rev. R. A. Herrin was in charge of the service. The remains were laid to rest in the Armel cemetery."
MARY ESTHER
Esther Flick and Charles Jordan, both of Lebanon, LaClede Coutny, Missouri, married thre on March 17, 1942.
July 1947 "Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jordan and
little son are making an extended visit at the
home of Mrs. Jordan's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Flick, near Idalia."
Charles is buried in Laclede County 1920-2005 # 13110959.
The space next to him has M. Esther (Flick) Jordan born August 5, 1923, with no date of death.
"MARY ESTHER JORDAN, daughter of Hugh Ernest and Ruth Adella Martin Flick, was born August 5, 1923.
Esther, as she was known to family and friends, was a Christian and a member of the Lord's Church, The Church of Christ. She attended The Hayes Street Church of Christ.
Esther was born in Yuma County, Colorado. She made her home in Lebanon, Missouri. She married Charles Fay Jordan on March 17, 1942. To this union was born two children, Charles Fay “Chuck” Jordan, Jr. and Pamela Kay Jordan.
Esther worked as a telephone operator in Idalia, Colorado during WWII, while Charles was deployed. Later after moving back to Missouri she worked at the Rice Stix factory. She was a real estate agent and manager of the M.F.A. Propane office in which she and Charles both worked. Esther also worked at South C Cabinets drawing plans.
She and Charles enjoyed buying and remodeling old houses to resale. At last count, they had bought and resold over sixty-three houses. Many families benefited from these sales.
Church was a great part of her and her husband's life. They would faithfully attend and he would preach at several congregations as long as their health allowed.
Esther loved sewing and drawing plans for cabinets and houses. She loved her children and her extended family. Her desire was for her family to know she loved them and wanted them to be in the church.
She loved music and loved harmonicas. Every new baby to the family received a new harmonica. She loved going to the Hughes Center with Pam on Thursday and Friday and singing with her friends.
Esther is survived by her sister, Edie Hardin of Tucson, AZ;
her children, Chuck and daughter-in-law, Ellen;
her daughter, Pam Olin and her son-in-law, Steve, all of Lebanon, MO;
grandchildren; Kitty Cornils and her husband Clint,
Andy Jordan and his wife Pam, Amy Smith and her husband Jeremy,
Chris Olin and his wife Danielle, Angela Fey and her husband Bucky,
and Stacie Smith and her husband David;
great-grandchildren, MaKenna Jordan, Caden Jordan, Dalton Smith,
Macy Smith, Steven Olin, Ashley Massey, Cindy Zorumski,
Christal Hays, Robert Wisdom, Jasmine Smith, Brianna Snyder, Bryce Olin, Marley Olin, Arizona Carriger, Dylan Carriger, Amber Chamburs, Destiny Scott, Chevy Loetscher, Caleb Cornils, Catelyn Cornils, Breanna Burk, Amber LaMontagne, Jimmy LaMontagne, Michael Mizer and Jared Mizer and Ethan Aman; twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends."

January 31, 1952 "Miss Evelyn Like of Denver,
and Mr. Lloyd Flick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Flick
of Idalia, were united in marriage on Sunday,
January 13, at the Church of Christ in St. Francis.
Walker Hembree officiated at the single ring
ceremony, following the regular Sunday worship
service. Immediately following the wedding a
reception was held in the Hembree home for the
immediate families and a few chosen friends.
Out-of-town guests who attended the wedding
were Mrs. Ora Like, Miss Gerre Doyle,
and Miss Lorraine Christopher of Denver;
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jordan and family,
Miss Edith Flick and Keith Knapp of Holyoke, Colo., Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Like and family
and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Flick and Jimmie of Idalia, Colo.
Upon return from a wedding trip the young
couple will reside in St. Francis in the property
formerly occupied by the Argil Wiggens family."
"Evelyn P. (Like) Flick, 89 years 5 months of age, passed away on Friday, Nov. 28, 2014 at her home in Idalia.
Evelyn was born June 4, 1925 in Atwood, Kan. to Ora F. Like and Anna (Portschy) Like. She was the younger sibling with Clifford being three years her senior.
Evelyn attended school in Atwood until 1937 when the family moved to a farm north of Burlington.
While on the farm, she walked a half mile to the one-room schoolhouse.
To attend Burlington High School she had to board with several families during that time.
Evelyn graduated in 1943 and soon started to work as a telephone operator in Burlington. She then moved to Denver to take a job as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell.
Evelyn married Lloyd E. Flick, of Idalia, on Jan. 13, 1952. They resided in Saint Francis, Kan. until they moved to Wray in 1955.
While in Wray, she worked as a telephone operator until the office closed when Mountain Bell went dial.
In August 1967 the family moved to a farm located two miles east of Idalia. When the farm was sold they moved to a farm north of Idalia; she lived there until her death.
Throughout her long life Evelyn enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, gardening, tending a flock of chickens, geese, and guineas, reading, and attending church at Saint John's United Church of Christ in her later years.
Evelyn is survived by four children – Patricia, and husband Paul Like, of Idalia; Anita, and husband Doug Jimmis, of Yuma; Troy and wife Beth, of Colorado Springs; Elden, and spouse Joe Andujo of Fort Collins; three grandchildren – Ruthie, and husband Darin Brown, of Wray; Desirae Jimmis of Greeley; Donnita Jimmis of Cambridge, Neb.; four great grandchildren – Cheynelle Blanchard of Denver; Sierra Blanchard of Atlanta, Ga.; Taylor Blanchard of Central City, Neb.; Ryan Brown of Wray; brother Clifford Like of Burlington; sisters-in-law Edith Hardin of Tucson, Ariz. and Esther Jordan of Lebanon, Mo.; brother-in-law Jim Flick, and wife Shirley, of Tucson, Ariz..
Evelyn is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews; special grandchildren – Keith Holcomb of Sterling; Mary Winters and husband Chaze, of Burlington; great-grandchildren – Seth, Logan, Kaitlyn, and Athena Winters.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, parents Ora and Anna Like, father- and mother-in-law Hugh and Ruth Flick, brothers-in-law Ray Hardin and Chuck Jordan, sister-in-law Marilyn Flick, and niece Linda Myers.
No funeral service is planned, but a Celebration of Life for Evelyn will be held at the Homestead in Idalia on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

spend Easter Sunday at the H. E. Flick home at Idalia.

Ray Hassel Hardin 1921-1986 is buried in Armel, # 81840981.
Velma Edith (Flick) Hardin was born to Hugh Ernest and Ruth (Martin) Flick on March 12, 1928 in Idalia, Colorado. She passed away on May 3, 2019 in Glendale, Arizona. A Graveside service and Interment will be held at the Armel Cemetery in Armel, Colorado on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.

LEROY
Marilyn Eloise Carson was born Feb 24, 1928 to Harry Robert Carson
and Agnes Jeanette Gerver. They're in Larimer County, Colorado
in 1940, Harry 40 born in Oklahoma, Agnes 25 in Colorado, Norvin D. o6 and Edward C. 5 and Clara L. 4 born in Kansas, Marilyn 2 and Viola two months
both born in Colorado. The family was in Cheyenne County, Kansas in 1935.
June 7, 1956 "A very pretty wedding on Sunday,
May 27, at 3 o'clock, united Marilyn Eloise Carson of
St. Francis and Leroy James Flick of Idalia at the
Church of Christ in St. Francis with Melvin Murrow
performing the double ring ceremony.
The bride had her sister, Miss Clara Carson, an
her attendant, and Delmar L. Meyer, brother-in-law
of the groom, was his attendant. A reception was
held in the church basement following the ceremony,
and later the couple left for a week's vacation in the Ozarks.
Leroy James Flick, 1936-2017 is buried in Armel # 179865404, with Marilyn
Carson Flick 1938-2007, # 20252809.

February 1927 "Mr. and Mrs. Frank Flick and son, Buster were
all day visitors at the Lee Haley home last Thursday. "
Ella Jane Hunt was born in Wayne county, Ind., June 25, 1864,
and departed this life Oct. 25, 1932, at her home west of Wray,
Colo. On Oct. 4, 1883 Ella Jane Hunt gave her hand in
holy matrimony to Jesse F. Beverlin of Farmland, Ind.,
and to this union twelve children were borm all of whom are living.
In 1887 they left their farm in Farmland, Ind.,
and moved to Skidmore, Mo., residing there until the fall of 1910,
when they moved to Wray, Colo., where they
had continued to reside.
On Oct. 15, 1932 Mrs. Beverlin became seriously ill with an
attack of pneumonia after which time she never left her bed
although she seemed to be gaining in health and hope was
entertained for her recovery. But Tuesday Mrs. Beverlin suffered
a serious heart attack and passed away without word or suffering.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband Jesse F. Beverlin,
and the following children John W. of Nunn, Colo.,
Inez B. of Pueblo,
Abbie Bodle, Charley Beverlin, Lucy Murphy,
Earnest Beverlin, Jesse Beverlin, Lila Flick,
Geraldine Doling, and George Beverlin all of Wray;
Hazel Weddle of Wilmington, Calif., and Mable Lyon of McCook, Neb.
All attended the funeral except John and Hazel. There are also twenty grandchildren and a host of friends and less near relatives. Mrs. Beverlin was a kind and loving mother. Funeral services will be held today at 1 p. m. at the Christian church conducted by Rev. Bower, and jnterment will be in the Armel cemetery. The sincere sympathy of many friends is extended the bereaved family.
August 23, 1932 "Jess F. Beverlin passed away at the
home of his son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Bodle
in this city Tuesday evening, following a prolonged illness, at
the age of 74 years 10 months, nnd 21 days. He was born in the
state of Indiana, but has been a resident of Yuma county for
about 25 years. Mr. Beverlin's wife passed away about two years ago.
He is survived hv 12 children, seven daughters and five sons.
The daughters are Mrs. Hazel Weddle of California,
Mrs. Owen Neal of Pueblo, Mrs. Ralph Doling of Morrison,
Mrs. Chas. Murphy of near Pueblo. Mrs. Frank Flick of Idalia,
Mrs W. D. Bodle of Wray and Mrs. Mabel Lyon of McCook, Neb.
The sons are Wesley, Charles, Ernest, Jesse, and George.
The deceased is also survived by two brothers,
Steve Beverlin of Wray and Chas. of Skidmore, Mo.,
and by three sisters, Mrs. Ed. Rohr of Saint Paul, Minn.,
Mrs. C. E. Owncs of St. Joe. Mo., and Mrs. M. K. Thorpe
of Kansas City. There are many less near relatives and a
host of friends who mourn his passing.
Mr. Beverlin was a member of the Christian church.
As we write this brief notice
funeral arrangements have not been completed.
The sincere sympathy of many friends is extended the bereaved
relatives."

They made the trip in the Vandegrift auto."

1896 in York County, Nebraska, working for Ernest Chase of Armel.
His reference was father james C. Flick of Bogarde Missouri.
Frank was back with his parents in 1920 Carroll County, Missouri, 23, with brother Virgil, 16.

February 1930 "Frank Flick of near Armel is advertising a good oppering of horses cattle, hogs, farm machinery and household goods at public auction on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The sale begins at 10 a. m. Col. H. E. Flick is the auctioneer and the Peoples State Bank Is clerk. "
In 1930 Frank 33 and Lila Mae 25, with Frank 7, are in Logan County, COlorado, working for the Charles Doherty family.
Frank E. Flick and Alice L. Kirkpatrick married in Jefferson COunty, on Deembr 21, 1938.
In 1940 Jefferson COunty, Colorado, Frank is 43, born in Nebraska, now married to Alice L. 29 born in Oregon. Frank is 17. They're living with Alice's parents Robert 65 and Lucy 65 Kirkpatrick.

Frank Englebert Flick, 70, of Route 1, Fruita, died at 6 a.m. today in Veterans Hospital following a three year illness.
A resident of Mesa County for 21 years, Mr. Flick had farmed in the Loma and Fruita areas. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Grand Junction and American Legion.
Mr. Flick was born at Armel, Colo.??? on Oct. 3, 1896, and spent his early life at Bogard, Mo. He married Alice Lucy Kirkpatrick at Shaffer's Crossing Colo. on Dec. 21, 1938. The Flicks had lived at Bogard, Idalia. Bailey and Mt. Morrison. Colo., before moving to Mesa County.
Mr. Flick served in the armed forces during World War I. stationed at Camp Funston, Kan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Frank Jr. of Englewood, a brother, Harry, of Carrolton, Mo.; a sister. Mrs. Gertude Vandergrift. of Bogard. and one grandchild."
Alice Lucy, born December 31, 1910 in Salem,
Oregon died May 20, 2006, named Linch in 1979.
She's likely the one buried in Jefferson County, Colordo # 1998800078, with Homer G. Linch 19-2-2003.
