"S.D. Comfort of Union township, died at his home December 24. He was one of the fist men in the county to engage extensively in fruit culture."

November 1911 "Ed Comfort of Pacific Junction, Iowa, arrived here Tuesday morning to visit his sister, Mrs. George Leininger,
and family of this place."

March 1919 "Ed Comfort, who lives about twelve miles north of town,
suffered a broken arm Monday when his horse kicked him.
Mr. Comfort was assisting in the dehorning of some cattle when
one of the animals got away. He went to the barn to get his horse and
upon entering spoke to the animal.
In response he was greeted with a kick."
