GEORGE
George Leininger, son of John Leininger and Hattie Stephens, married Miss Belle Comfort on December 22, 1895 in Afton, Iowa.
In 1900 Union County, Iowa, George is farmingk, born Dec 1870 in Iowa, Belle April 1872 in Ohio, with Gladys Fewb 1897 and Clara August 1899.
November 23, 1911 "Ed Comfort of Pacific Junction,
Iowa, arrived here Tuesday morning to visit his sister,
Mrs. George Leininger, and family of this place."
George Leininger proved up two quarters in sections 1 and 12, 3N 45W in 1919.
In 1920 Yuma County, George is farming, 49 born in Iowa, father born in France, mother in Germany. Belle is 47 born in Ohio, Gladys 22 and Clara 20 in Iowa. George 1870-1949 is buried in Wray # 64657940.
So is Belle 1872-1948 # 64657927.
Gladys Leininger, 23, married James C. Huff on February 24, 1920 in Trinidad, Colorado.
She's divorced in 1930 Los Angeles, a laundry marker, 33, with James B. Huff 9.
James was born November 14, 1920 in Clayton, New Mexico to James C. Huff and Gladys M. Leininger, dying Sept 10, 2006.
In 1940 Los Angeles, Gladys is married to P. B. Oaks, 39 born in Missouri, with their son George 3. James C. 19 is living with them, an office boy.
James is buried in Riverside National # 51183442, with Norma Jean 1923-2004.
1917 "Miss Claire Leininger has accepted a position with the Wray Mercantile Company and will begin her duties there in a short time "
Clara Leininger was in Wray in 1920, 20, with parents George 49 and Belle Leininger 47.
Clara married "J. J. Smeehuyzen" on June 1, 1920, recorded in Yuma County.
The SMEEHYUZEN couple divorced in 1924 in Yuma County.
One possibility is that Joseph changed his name upon naturalization.....
1922 " Mrs. Joe Hoffman is spending
the week with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. George Leininger, north of Wray."
ANNA
March 1916 "Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Carl celebrated their silver wedding anniversary Sunday at their home in East Wray, Those present were their daughter, Mrs. Clyde Cox and family, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Carl and family, Wm. Pyle and daughter, Miss Ethel, and the Misses Leininger and Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Carl were presented with a number of beautiful gifts as remembrances of the occasion."
May 18, 1916 "Miss Florence Leininger is expecting
her sister, Miss Agnes, to arrive Tuesday of next week
from her home in Afton, Iowa, for a visit with her
and her brother, George Leininger, of eighteen miles
northwest of Wray. Miss Agnes has also taken up the
work of an instructor and has been engaged
in teaching in Iowa."

September 1922 "Miss Florence Leininger of Colorado
Springs stopped off in Wray on her way home from a
visit at Creston, Iowa, to visit her sister,
Miss Anna Leininger, and other friends in Wray the
first of the week. Miss Leininger was at one time a
teacher in the local high school."
December 1922 "Mrs. W. E. Connelly and baby daughter
of Guinn, S. D., came to Wray the first of the week for
a visit with her sister, Miss Anna Leininger,
and other relatives."
November 8, 1923 
Clara Leininger was in Wray in 1920, 20, with parents George 49 and Belle Leininger 47.
April 1949 "W.C. Proctor reported yesterday that the old George Leininger ranch, comprising 4,120 acres and located about 17 miles northwest of Wray had been sold by L.A. Hoskins who bought the ranch from Leininger, to Jo Connally and Gale Soehner."
