In 1913 the county commissioners allocated funds for coal for Mrs. Daum.
1913 "WANTED WORK in a good place on a farm, by boy past 13. Good at handling horses. Inquire of Mrs. Geo. Daum or phone 203."

1917 "Mrs. George Daum and two little children left Tuesday evening for McCook, where she will spend a few days with her daughter, Mrs. George Rankin, and family. Mrs. Rankin will then accompany her mother to Guide Rock, Nebraska, for a visit with relatives there."
He registered with a Wray address, saying he was born December 6, 1881, and nearest relative was Antoinette Daum.
In 1920 Washington County George and Nettie have Frank G., Clarence H. Harold, Helen, and have added Lawrence 8, Evelyn 5, Alvin 3, Lloyd 1, and Charles Hansen 20. (in 1900 Winnebago County Illinois James B Hanson 34 and Nettie 23 have Edward J. 5 Antonette M. 2, and eight-month Charles W.)
In 1930 Weld County George is 49, widowed, and he has Frank, Clarence, Lawerence, Evelyn, Alvin, Lloyd, Wayne K. 9. Mable Gillman 22, a cook, and James V. Gillman 2.
George 1881-1960 and Antoniettie 1876-Jun 27, 1928 are buried in Platteville, Weld County. So are sons Frank and Lloyd.
(George's brother Charles William Daum 1856-1939 died in Craig, Colorado per one tree. Another brother Philip Richard Daum 1890-1979 is buried in Hastings, Nebraska. Another brother, John born May 17, 1897 in Pauline Nebraska registered in Weld County, with a nearest relative Francis Daum of Lay, Colorado - that's over by Craig. A sister Stella Elnora married James Ray Herod, and they had at least one child in 1920 in Craig Walter - 1920-2010. Another brother Adolf Geneve Daum was on the same page as Charles in 1910 Costilla County, registered in Creede, was farming in Sedgwick County in 1930 and 1940, and is buried in Julesburg, Colorado )
DAUM--In Longmont, Tuesday, Aug 21, 1922, Mrs. Mary Jemima Daum,
aged 49 years, 4 months and 2 days. Mrs. Mary Daum was born in Boone County, Iowa, and came to Longmont several years ago with her husband, F. P. Daum and two sons. She was a worker in the Baptist church and was loved by everyone with whom she was associated. She had not been well for some time but her death came as a great shock to the family. She leaves besides her husband, two sons, Frank and Forest. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Shaw mortuary and interment made in Mountain View Cemetery. |
